Not always: because of this video I checked the rules again on Morven Vahl's Abbess Sanctorum and the Palatine's Rapturous Blows, just in case I had been doing it wrong all this time. But no: they are exactly as awesome as I always knew they were :D
Remember the main strength of sisters is their high toughness. You want to charge your light infantry directly at the enemy. Especially the melta squads, they are strongest in melee.
3:39 That one got me! 😂 Real talk: but the official GW App is *so* close to greatness. The Bunker update was a solid one. They just need to move away from this bizarro system of buying two-dozen+ physical books in order to acquire a code to unlock digital content. Think of the trees GW! 🌲🌳
Thanks this is useful, Sisters are cool as hell, I've got 1k of them ready to build and paint after I finish all my orks, trying to take in some of the rules and gotchas before I get them ready to game with!
Great clarifications! On the cannoness, we were discussing the other day that with the rulebook wording she can be targeted by suffering & sacrifice even when leading a unit and then the 2++ gets better, even more if we ressurrect her afterwards and comes back with the 2++ again. Are we right on that?
Suffering and Sacrifice changes which unit is targeted, not which model so it would only be good if she was alone and fighting next to another unit. Even then it is only really useful against big monsters - like Angron and tyranid beasts. When she returns using Divine Intervention it is at the end of the phase so it wont be immediately useful. ...if it sounds amazing, it probably isn't allowed in a Sisters army
I'm very thankful to these videos now that I'm finally starting my Order of the Ermine Mantle Sororitas army. I've been going over the entire Cold Shoulder Sector greentext story again, to make sure I get all the characters right. Canoness Konstanzia Konstanza, The Fire-Haired, Electric Eye of the Imperium, [further epithets omitted]... her Dialogus, Secretary, Bringer of Recaff. Celestian Superior Sister Olga, the She-Bear of Merda Pass with a box of donuts and a booklet full of images of naked Astartes. Seraphim Sister Terese, the Miracle of Stercus Ludicrum with a bionic arm. Celestian Sister Diana with the heavy flamer. Dominion Sister Charlotte with her new cloak since the old one got torn saving Terese from a medium-light bondage session with a Drukhari. And of course the Living Saint Sister Brigitte. As well as the pimped out Repressor for Sister Lydia to drive. Except for the colour scheme I'll be trying to make them all as accurate to the story as possible, I'm just not going to pair the swag of ermine scarves with something as boring as grey and silver armour, I'm turning the ostentatiousness up to 11 with glossy royal purple armour and darkened bronze trim to make it really fit with the ermine pattern on their scarves.
Still slowly building to 1k from combat patrol, the clarification on the detachment is super helpful. I definitely would've counted total wounds on the unit not the model count. I'll have 2 penitent engines in my 1k, now I think I'll run them as stand alone units.
Hi there, really appreciate your work ! Helped me out a lot. Question : if I read correctly, an act of faith is counted as an unmodified dice roll when used in all terms. Could I use one and then re-roll it, like when I let a battle sister use a faith-die, then re-roll it because of a rule like with the Immolator ? Just thinking that could be a neat way to exchange bad dice for possibly better ones with the cherubs if the opportunity presents itself. Also : preacher + flagellants is great. Took him by accident because of the wording-trap but now he saves me a cp almost every turn by handing out +1 to wound
Hi! I see the thought behind it but since a miracle dice is never rolled, only substituted I don't think you can re-roll it. You can just 'throw away' bad dice on unimportant rolls to get a better one from a cherub but I don't think it is worth the effort.

@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuberhey again! Just as an update to from before. I never made it to the 250 but they’ve recently had another one 500 points and on. I’m having to use store models so my first battle was a canoness BSS squad(but they were already premade with weapons and all) an exorcist and 3 paragons. Went up against an ultramarine player . Got my ass kicked . Then yesterday 800 points! Once again using store units This time 2 BSS a canoness and a palatine and imagifier, exorcist and immolater and 3 paragons I played against black templars and rolled TERRIBLY (God Emperor was not with us) and lost in the 4th turn. I’m getting better and looking at trying to attempt a solid 1K list for next week But i definitely need a special hero at this point . Seems like most of everybody plays SM of some sort . 1 Necron player 1 ork player 1 aeldari 1 custodes and 1 Tsons . Here’s hoping for my first win!
I'd had a lot of sobering thoughts about Below Half-Strength long ago, not just with Morvenn and her warsuits (them being able to double up and be in units of 6 again would be one way to solve this and would motivate me to want to go find a Sanctorum Guard box) but also with Ephrael Stern and Kyganil, who can never be Below Half-Strength for the same reason. Personally I would prefer if it just said "At Half Strength, rounded down for units whose Starting Strength was an odd number and greater than 1," so Ephrael could get her bonus if Kyganil went down, with the excuse that it was out of vengeance. So Sisters without a leader would get their bonuses at 5 models remaining, Sisters with two leaders would get their bonuses at 6 models remaining, and Morvenn and her girls would get the bonus with two Paragons fallen. Celestine doesn't seem to have this problem since she'd seem to be Below Half-Strength after her Geminae are removed, to say nothing of being able to attach to a squad of Seraphim.
Simpler. Anything that is a vehicle or Monster should simply use Wounds for deciding. They already do this with single models, hell he points out vehicles working this way when its a single model. Just make it anything with those Keywords use wounds for determining Starting and Half and not number of models. Its so very obvious thats the intention that Ill refuse to play people that argue the Blood doesnt work on Penatents or that the Carnifex Broods rule just doesnt work at all with a 2 Fex unit.
genuine question here and I would love to see a video on this - how do we as sisters fight the tyranid crusher stampede detachment? I went up against it the other night against my friend and it was such a painful experience. They have the same ability as us pretty much - plus there were tyrannofex's, swarmlord, norn emissary, screamer killer, toxicrenes etc. I dont own a castigator at the moment but honestly i dont even think it would help that much. that amount of high toughness and wounds just felt like an uphill battle when he was tearing all my infantry to peices and i was wounding everything on 5s and 6s all night. honestly it sucked and made me wish for the glory days of repentia in 9th and seraphim melta deepstrike.
when I faced them I did find it harder than a lot of other factions do. Exorcist with S10 missiles helped, a Palatine throwing out mortal wounds and I won in the end only through a clutch +1 to wound bonus from my dominions only having 4 models left so their meltaguns had a chance to wound. Repentia are perfect because of re-rolling hists and wounds. They just got cheaper. You can also add Holy Rage for +1 to wound. Repentia and arco-flagellants should help you through
