I just bought one in Connecticut for $650. Sako, 1942. Very clean bore and little wear. Stock is in almost perfect condition.
I saw it on the milsurp rack in my local shop and said "Isn't that an M39?!" The shop owner said "yep, came in 2 hours ago and won't last long" and I took it.

My Father used to shoot those back in the 70s when they we're still used in the Army, he was one of the last ones to use those before they we're replaced by the Rk62's.

I just want to say thank you for posting this video! Videos like these help pass down our gun heritage; it's important to retain our heritage for future generations to enjoy! My grandpa gave me his M39 yesterday, and I cannot take wait to take it out and shoot It! Thanks again Eric!

Dude, you don't know me and I don't know you. But thank you for all you do. The information you provide is HUGE to people like me. I love the Mosin Nagant and I probably buy too many (currently around 20). The Finnish M39 is my favorite. But the main thing is to say "thank you" for the videos that you have worked so hard on. Eric is spot on too. Both you guys can shoot the eyes out of a ...?.... at 100 to 500 yards. When I see a video from you guys I know that it is going to be good. Enough said..........just thanks from Savannah, GA! Mark E. (Savannah, GA)

    Amazing video!
I'm gonna get one for sure, hopefully find one in Finland. My grandfather was in the war, Winter war, Continuation war and Lapland war, so he probably shot one a few times. He started as a sergeant and ended up a 1. Lt.
    Keep up your great work!

Just a random fact on Finnish military oil procedure for long time storage. I have no idea how they did earlier with M39's, but at least since 80's, RK62's have been dipped into warm Shell Ensis L oil and let the extra oil just drip away, then stored into wood crates, 10 rifles & 60 mags.

They still have unopened crates according to Ray at Moss today.
14,000 of them total so they are still going through them.
I would call classic. Ray had a Tikka he hand selected for himself.
It was nearly perfect even though it had a finger jointed stock.
To me that just added character. Not a speck of rust anywhere.
The cleaning rod looked like Stainless steel it was so shiny.
They are supposed to be getting in some immaculate K31 soon too with matching bayonets.
I'll be paying down my credit cards and pay off some jewelry I have on lay away for my wife.
Gun , jewelry, gun, jewelry is how it goes to keep the peace.
