My kids fave technique, I show them how to use it with a few variations and they always hit it and score a perfect ippon. For BJJ guy saying that this is a suicide, in BJJ yes but on concrete, this can be fatal since one of my son opponent got his head smash the mat so hard that he got a dizzy after the technique was done.
Not only that, but when performed explosively you can roll over pretty smoothly before he can put the hooks on. Of course it requires good timing but I do it pretty often and even when the timing and/or speed wasn't good enough, you still can roll over or perform some variation of Ura-Gatame, but you need to have Osaekomi movements mastered.

As long as you don't grab the leg, this is fine.
