  • This is a fairly easy job, but common on Vauxhall as the exhaust rusts and rots away near the backbox and will break and cause exhaust leak and the exhaust to be very noisy since there is only one silencer on the 2010 Vauxhall (Opel) Corsa D (D is the 4th generation Corsa).
Make sure you order the correct exhaust with the smaller backbox for this edition as there are a couple of variations.
    Parts needed:
    Exhaust backbox
13mm socket (for my size Exhaust clamp/bracket)
    Exhaust Paste
Car Jack (Ramps as you'll see aren't ideal for the job)

Just changed one tonight. Got the back-box from EuroCarParts, same-day click and collect. Although I wouldn't recommend it, I jacked up the left side of the car whilst on ramps to make some space and avoided putting myself under the car whilst manhandling the exhaust over the rear axle. Glad to see I'm not the only one with disintegrated heat shield retainers.

It was just a general search on ebay for the back box for the year/model of car, nothing special!

Yeah, as soon as you make the lightbulb moment that it's the rear axle getting in the way the job becomes so much easier! Swap to jack and jack stands on the frame and you're all good.
