Awesome Awesome video Bro! Also cool to see interactions in the comments!!! I have a Enduro 2, paired with MyFitnessPal (food/calories), and Fitbod (strength training- based off of personal goals/experience level/equipment available). Definitely earned a subscriber! Thank You
Good video. I want to train 2x exercises in a set eg a) bench press b) push ups then rest. Do you know if it’s possible to set up the workout like this please?
You can log in via your laptop and easily create workouts and set them up however you want. You can later open these via your watch. (At least that is for my vivoavtive 4 garmin watch)
Good video! At the 4:37 mark, I see your rest timer is counting down. What are the steps to enable this? I don't see my rest timer counting down, but would really like to. Thank you in advance.
Whenever you finish an exercise you can press the lap button and it will automatically start your rest timer. If you set the next set to start automatically when the rest timer ends it will start the next one. Otherwise it will wait for your lap press
@@RunWithMyDog But will u get notification when rest time is over, by some vibration or sth? Moreover, after finishing set, does it detect it automaticaly or u need to press that button?
THis is a great video pal, thank you for this as it's extremely useful for newbies who wants to invest for Garmin watch. May I ask if this kind of exercise planning can be done for Venu models as well? Or those are only for Fenix models?
You can choose a predefined workout or build your own. If you'll have a look at the muscle heatmap after you'll create it you can see which muscle group was affected
I did a 2 day split 6 day workout program using there list of strength training exercises if it's not listed pick something similar, I have a good understanding of my weight that I use but you do have to convert kilogram to lbs ,the only issue I have is when I finished one set to press lower bottom to hit next section would be rest but if you press the button again it skips the section and there's no way of going back . My old fitbit was out by around 30 40 hbpm my calories were too high but this garmin forerunner 255 is pretty accurate, I like the rep counter but it only counts full range of motion not partial reps. Great tips thanks
Hello! I bought a Garmin Phoenix 7X watch. When choosing strength "Free" training during a workout, the watch does not count active calories. Also, in general, daily calories are not counted. Now the average figure reaches 2700, although before that there was a Phoenix 5X watch and with the same daily activity, 3200+ came out, which is more like the truth, since I go through more than 10,000 steps a day, plus strength training 4-5 times a week. How can I have only 250-350 active calories with this mode? I dug up almost all the functions in the watch, reset it to factory settings, but the result is the same - the watch does not count calories during training (at the same time, when choosing Walking, calories are counted). Please help me solve this problem. Thank you in advance!
Hi I didn’t know about this problem. So you’re basically saying that during strength workouts it only solves the active calories? Did you try to update? I think that a major update was released recently to the Fenix 7
@@RunWithMyDog finally I found a problem. And problem is that I have black tattoos on my sleeves and new version of optical sensor on fenix 7x doesn’t work through black tattoo… On my previous fenix 5x everything worked well. I checked 7x with my friends who doesn’t have tattoos and sensor is working.
I just purchased the Fenix 7x Saphire. I don't understand how plucking away at the watch during the 30-45 second recovery time between sets during a full strenuous workout could possibly be beneficial. Has anyone found a way to overcome this?
Yeah. I use notebook and a pen. Fast and you can edit your workout easily (when for example you feel weak this day or someone took your machine/station and you need to improvise) which can be very unhandy with smartphone and with watch it is just torture I guess. Also with strength training applications won't give you that much of an advantage like for endurance sports.
Personally I prefer the implementation by Coros. I think that the strength profile is more sleek and it's easier to build the workout in Coros app. Nonetheless Garmin's strength profile is absolutely great and highly comparable
1.Does garmin can create by itself some sets if trainings when you haven no ideas what to train? I mean garmin is your trainer:) 2. Is IT posible garmin to propose you some exercises during the Day? Fe when you are sitting to long and to warm up you ten? Regards
Currently Garmin proposes only running and cycling workouts during the day. You can access the strength training library in Garmin connect if you want to download a predefined workout to your watch
Yes the watch has a few ways it provides your recovery status and need to recover. 1) Body Battery helps you know how much you have in the tank prior to training. 2) Exercise Load located in side of a created workout based off of EPOC or Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption. (Explains how much work your body has to do to get back to normal. There are also other metrics provided but these two are good to start with.
Yes this watch is only for serious trainers with experience, if you want something for beginners/low intermediate then try garmin venu 2 that has pictures for the main workouts I believe
Thank you. I was struggling trying to find out how to add sets to my workout. Finally understood that you actually have to add rounds.
Happy to help!
same

Thanks for clarifying!
Is it possible to go back if you clicked the right bottom button by mistake?
Unfortunately I think not

Try to build the workout in Garmin connect first and then download it to the watch
Dose it start rest timer automatically after your set? And then notify you when rest is over? Good video!

It should work the same for Venu
But how to find correct exercise? I dont know all specific names of excercises...
Is anywhere a guide for it?
You can choose a predefined workout or build your own. If you'll have a look at the muscle heatmap after you'll create it you can see which muscle group was affected
Can you add multiple exercises to the warm up or cool down?
Yes you can
Nice video :-) Could you put the file out here?so we could put in our watch
Thanks!
Please send me an email and I will happily share it with you
Nice video, thank you. Does Venue Sq support customized strength workout ?.
It works with me and you know how to delete exercise from watch?
I’m not sure that’s possible. Only via Garmin connect
Does the Garmin watch save the number of reps and wait you lifted so you have that for the next training and can do more?
Yes you can create a workout schedule and also update the number if reps within the app
Hey friend...This is an old video. But I'm dealing with this now, you know if it's possible to add a set while performing the workout?
Hi!
I'm not sure I understand, do you want to add another set to a predefined strength workout?
@@RunWithMyDog yes in a custom workout as you perform it without the watch jumping to the next excercise
hello if i just want to train by myself and i want the watch to track it without me pressing after every set or putting the workouts is there a way?
i mean i want it to track my calories burnt not the sets or reps or w/e idc abt that
I think you can just start a strength training with no goal
I can't switch from one exercise to another without it giving me reps just for moving my hand
Try maybe to hold the middle button to access the menu, and then you should have an option skip the exercise
Do you know if there's a way for it to automatically add weight to the exercise as you complete each workout? Something similar to the 5x5 app I mean
You don't add it during the exercise

Is there ANY way to see either last reps/weight for the exercise OR 8, 10, 12... rep max. to try to beat it?
That's a great idea! I don't think that Garmin has implemented it though...
It has something called benchmark weight but I can't figure out what it does xD
You’d have to go into the connect app and check out the previous workout you did the specific exercise.

Is there a way to track progressive overloading?
Hi, I don't know about an automatic way to do it, but you can set the reps and weights for each set and track it manually
It’s helping me a lot
Glad it helped!
How to change that weight lbs to kg?
Go to Settings > System > Units

Does this work on venu 3?
Yes it should work
Thanks so much!!
You're welcome!
Thank you for this.
My pleasure!
Are there cheaper garmin options with this same feature?
Yeah. Vivoactive 4, Venu, Forerunner 255 and up
@@RunWithMyDog Thank you man.
Thanks!
You're welcome!
Can I import an csv file to the app?
Do you mean a csv of a predefined workout, I don't think so
@@RunWithMyDog Exactly, thanks! I choose the GymRun app to make it is possible.
Can this also be done with garmin 55?
No, Unfortunately the FR 55 doesn’t offer a strength workout profile
@@RunWithMyDog Any sugestion for FR55? Thakns
does it show you how the do the reps on the watch ?
like a preview of how to do the correct form ?
It depends on the model, Vivoactive 4, all venues, high end FR, Fenix 6 and up are showing an animation of the correct form
Nice man TY
Thanks
Is the watch able to measure how much strain you put in for strength workouts? And does it also tell you how recovered you are?
It basically relies on your heart rate
@@RunWithMyDog thank you for the reply.

Hi, about the weight setting, do you put the total of 2 dumbbell weight or only one and the soft multiplies by 2?
Hi
I enter the total weight (both of them)
Seems like a lot of drama, after this I'm returning mine. 😂
Haha :)
👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks
Waay to much clicking, Just workout
😂
Do they seriously expect that I know the name of every exercise? No pictures, no thanks. It’s still Apple Watch for now.
What works best for you :)
You obviously don’t go to the gym more than once a month if you don’t know the names of the exercises you’re doing
There are pictures and animations on my garmin and also in the phone app.
