  • My delightful lunch experience at Paul Rothe and Son Delicatessen, Marylebone Lane, London W1, was a step back in time. What started as grocers in 1900 when the owners lived above the shop, the family business has evolved. Today, it’s a delightful deli specialising in freshly made sandwiches with soups, jacket potatoes and British favourites like sausage rolls. Not only is it a place where your sandwich dreams come true, but it’s a cosy retreat with an old-fashioned charm. If you’re looking for the best sandwich shops near Bond Street or cafes on Marylebone Lane, Paul Rothe and Son is the place to go.
“During peak hours, you might have to queue, but the wait is a small price for a sandwich tailored to your taste and the warm welcome given to regulars and newcomers,” Homegirl London.
They don't have an official website, but you can find them on Instagram @paulrotheandson. Located at 35 Marylebone Lane in London, W1U 2NN, it's a brief stroll from Bond Street, Oxford Circus or Marble Arch Stations. Their doors are open from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm, Monday through Friday and 11.30 am to 4.00 pm on Saturdays. Stepping inside, you're greeted with an adorable, old-fashioned atmosphere featuring wood panelling and Formica tables. One wall is dedicated to an impressive sandwich counter. It’s a great place to dine solo or meet a friend and a brilliant spot to take guests visiting the city who want a slice of London history.
