anyone thinking of buying this should know that this "early access" is less the type where the game is finished and they're building out content, and moreso that they're building the game as you play it. the game has been in development for 10 years, yes, but in that 10 years there's been resets, loss of funding, working for free to basically nothing, and the death of their CCO. if they wanted to scam you, they would've already pivoted to crypto and called it a day.
Game looks really interesting and i'd love to play and help the developers with feedback, but 40 bucks is WAYYY to expensive for a no name early access.
I don't really have time to watch the whole video as I'm already following the warrior leveling series, but I'm very interested in your opinion on this alpha : Does pushing the buttons for abilities feel good on this game so far ?
As someone that is an outsider looking in, This seems like it is really trying to feed off EQ nostalgia. (which isn't a bad thing) I keep seeing that this is probably in some kind of development hell and already 10 years in. I hope for the best for them. But I really do not know how a old school style MMO will do. I understand there are still people that will play EQ and old school Runescape, but I just don't know how they would draw those players from basically there home MMO. Let alone bring new players in
When I pledged like 8yrs ago it was for an amazing looking game I hoped would be a springboard from EQ....as the years went by, the development took a turn and sadly has launched a game resembling the failed EverQuest Next. IMO, I wasted $200 on this game & have zero plans to play...if playing, I hope it's what you envisioned.
It may not work out but graphics are fine … there are zero other mmos out there or coming that plays like this though so that’s a huge huge positive … and actually has real, support classes
@@Crown-Coke If you pledged years ago you can just take the plunge and give it a try, for no cost. If you are the target audience then you will love it. So many people in game say that they really love it. But it's not for everybody, that is for sure. Nothing to do with EQ next really, this is way more like the difficulty of EQ1 with some new ideas. There are a lot of people who initially dismissed it and then got sucked in. There are also those that keep hating it.
Man I followed this project from the start. I pledged and got in. My honest opinion after playing ALL weekend. My first hour of gameplay was miserable! I was so close to Uninstalling and never clicking Pantheon icon again! Seriously, I cussed for a full hour! Then I decided to create a different race and class. That race and class was way more beginner friendly. And after a few hours of playing, I couldn't put it down! Give it a shot man, 2-3 hours of your time before giving completely up. It's actually a good game. You here people say hard, I don't consider it hard at all. It has that old school, laid back feeling
Game play mechanics dont bother me. Most people are struggling without a map but what gets me is it alway dark. No racial vision differences from human to elf and its always dark. I understand why but it sucks that most of the world you cant see because its so dark all-the-time.
Music is fantastic. Graphics are honestly off-putting. Maybe its just me being used to WoW, but when games go for "realistic" but obviously limited due to graphics cards and world size, it just kind of misses the mark for realism + hurts immersion IMO. Gameplay seems super lack luster and not polished. I feel bad that this game has been in production for I think you said 10 years???? WoW isn't going anywhere anytime soon lol Also... what is that length of time needed to mine.... WTH lol
Dev velocity is pretty fast at the moment, but yea... maybe it will take that much. Either way, it will be time to see it grow and grow. It's already pretty big and you can have a lot of fun. Bugs mostly are not game breaking and i did not have a single outright crash yet.
I'm not sure what's been going on with this game, I remember a couple of years ago it was supposed to be one of the main mmorpg hopes. I'm not sure why because what they got as of right now is going absolutely nowhere. Realistically it looks like one of those obscure ones that will have at best a couple hundred dedicated players like Project Gorgon and Wurm Online. It can't hope to compete with anything even close to the big ones with what they got. Graphics, animations, UI all of it needs a substantial upgrade. I get that they are going for the Everquest thing but you can't actually literally make Everquest in 2024 and expect success, Everquest is ancient and only played by hardcore fans. An Everquest in 2024 can be Everquest but it has to have modern graphics, smooth modern animations, modern combat etc.
I agree partially. While it certainly would profit from better graphics and animations (both will of course get better), the combat won't change fundamentally. This style is something that the industry just abandoned, leaving a lot of players behind. Pantheon will not try to compete with the modern style, it is for an audience that does like the very group focused, strategic and slower style.
Seems like quite a few people are having fun with it. Seems like you may be the one in the minority. To each their own but I've often found that the fool is the loudest one in the room. Food for thought.
Acclimation system better then eq. Perception system better then eq. Climbing better tgen eq. Pantheon is already better then eq and it has a long way to go.
@@Hunter77567 the game is so boring. I cant log on longer than 5 minutes. I have about 20 hours in the game. Multiple level5-10 characters. It feels so generic.

I’m having a blast, it’s a breath of fresh air from what mainstream mmo’s like WoW and Final Fantasy have become. Zero pay to win, and the old school community where people help each other and actually talk. Can only get better from here.

I've waited for this game since they first released information about it and all those years later, this is what they've got to show? I am so sad.
This was really great to see, first time out in a new world no maps no guides. I loved it Felt like my first days in EQ back 1999. hope to see more.

This game looks like the love child of EQ & Dark Souls graphics wise
Excited to watch this!
The game was basically deleted 2 years ago and started over. This is the direction they decided to go after that refactor.

solo or multy??
It's an mmo game :)
Its more multi than most MMOs as you are really dependant on other players to progress at a nice rate. Solo is possible but much slower.
Get in the habit of pressing c when targeting. That skele you tried is for a group. I still pull things not onowing they are chevrons.

The gathering is slow because you are supposed to be able to gather as a group to speed it up. I think it’s just broken right now
@@yokohl6997 Nope. This is just the speed with newbie tools, gets a lot faster when you upgrade those.
yeah it's intended to be slow, but once you upgrade your gathering tools and get your skill up, it speeds up a lot. It's meant to be slow progression.
