Quentin Tarantino isn't afraid to take risks in his films. If something doesn't make any sense whatsoever in a scene. He goes ahead and leaves it in anyway. Simply because he likes it enough and deems it necessary to the story. Cause it could very well turn out to be completely necessary to the story. But we the audience just don't know it yet.
He took risks but he still had an excellent understanding of the core of story telling. He never left in a scene in just because he thought it was cool. It had to progress the story. Too many modern writers try to walk before they can crawl. Learn to do the basics first, then you can subtly tweak the story with subversion and ambiguous morals. It takes a lot of skill to keep the audience engaged if you mess too much with their expectations.
Quentin is a true original and an inspiration. I adore his films but personally enjoy the films of a few other directors around although that's taking nothing away from Quentin at all. I absolutely love his style and have enjoyed everything he has ever created pretty much.
Why does no one ever include "True Romance" in QTs resume? When I saw this, I started watching for Quentin's name in everything. Anyone who wrote that had my full attention ... Christopher Walken, Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Gary Oldman, Dennis Hopper, Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer, James Gandolfini, Sam L Jackson, Chris Penn ...... omg this was my first discovery of Quentin Tarantino. This story rocked hard and never stopped ...... :)
Thx Johnny! I realize he didn't direct it but this was truly QT work worth including. Still one of my all time QT includes. Cheers mate!@@johnnyjohnson8360
I miss El Rey from it's prime years. They aired un-censored giallo and horror films every Friday, "Shaw Bros" kung fu movies all day Saturday. Just seemed like they didn't have much funding for syndicated programming or original programming. Other than the "Dusk Till Dawn" show and "Lucha Underground", nothing they produced was any good and it seemed to be done low-budget.
I feel like I remember watching this show on television long ago but could not remember where, I was thinking it was on Bravo maybe. I forgot this channel existed.
These two gentlemen are best friends in real life and share mutual respect for each other. If Harvey Weinstein didn’t make it difficult for Robert to work with Miramax due to what he did to Rose McGowen at the Sundance Film Festival.
I'd watch a version of this that hasn't been intercut with clips and sounds and music from the movies every 30 seconds like it's a 2009 DVD featurette.
@@spaceyvrgamer7618 Still no part 2 upload? It looks like you've been telling people for over 3 months that you'll upload it soon, but I still can't see it. Yet you've uploaded a bunch of other stuff since then. Why not upload them together? I'll save this part 1 to my watch later list and just hope you get around to uploading the rest of it soon. Edit: never mind, I found the original uploads on Doogian's Documentaries.
I think he's downplaying his inspiration from Sergio Leone when it comes to non linear story telling. Trying to act like he was the first one to do it and his inspiration came from novels when he absolutely saw Once Upon a Time in America
Also, Sunset Boulevard?Last Year at Marienbad? Hell, Citizen Kane! QT is pretty good but even back when he started, I was like, he's not doing anything revolutionary...
Quentin Tarantino is overrated. There are not a lot of his films that are actually extremely good. For example Scorsese, Spielberg, Hitchcock, Michael Mann, The Coens, Cameron, Carpenter and others have way more better films in their careers. Tarantino is more or less always the same.
Tarantino's real gift is gab, weaving a story through dialogue. Other directors are more visual, but with the exception of Cameron, the Coens, Michael Mann and occasionally Spielberg, they generally don't write the movies they direct. Perhaps early in Tarantino's career, he relied primarily on dialogue to tell his stories because he didn't have the MONEY to do big, spectacular action set-pieces, but even now, now that he HAS the money, there's something to be said for dialogue propelling a story and he writes brilliant dialogue. Dialogue is what actors need to chew on, words are the actor's tools, and this is why top actors are lining up to work with Tarantino.
It is so cool just to hear these two guys talk about movies.

he wrote and sold the script
Tarantino also wrote the original screenplay for "Natural Born Killers"
Baffling that Reservoir Dogs was made for 1/16 of the budget of one episode of She Hulk.
Did you get hit in the head recently? You seem unhinged
😂🤣
18:35 Unfortunately it sort of seems like that time is somewhat back when it comes to major releases these days.
My fav director Mr Tarantino 👌👌
we want to list them because we cleaned the sink
Great! The interviewers are usually clueless. Great idea!

@BrendanSlob the shaw Brothers weekends were what I lived for man lol especially after ifc and Sundance got rid of samurai Sundays.

Rodger avary literally wrote the character for my favorite film character of all time " Butch Coolidge" 📽️ 💯💯🔥🔥
And then Quentin re-wrote it....
we mixed it because theres no way it can be ordered

Rose and Robert were a couple at the time.
Best 13k spent ever.
Actors are very serious like scary movie 3 someone is depressed
Pulp Fiction is one of the most amazing films ever.
What do we need before Kill Bill dvds
Because we have the dvds
Its out there only not rares
Where’s part 2 ??

self made baby!!
Great American artist.
This fella sure does get high off his own fumes
Not just Pulp, but Sam Jackson was robbed at those Oscars in the Spring of 1995.
It's the oscars. The hipp movie never wins. Same with The Social Network. Who even remembers the Kings speech today?
Some snubs never stop stinging. Like Mickey Rourke for The Wrestler, or Jethro Tull beating Metallica's "And Justice For All" for "best metal album."
well, the reading of this intervieww is obvious: we need a tarantino buddy cop movie starring waltz & jackson

QT made 2 good movies and the rest is junk. Now, he's doing 'big come back' lol
I kinda agree . Other directors did a better job with his scripts . And his work on CSI was pretty cool
More like 2014 or 2015
