Wow friend, incredible hunt. It is incredible how primitive man created all those weapons to be able to survive. Congratulations. You are very skilled in handling these devices.I like all this. You have a new friend.
Great hunt Ryan.👍👏👏👏 Woomera is pronounced with the emphasis on the firs part of the word. WOOM-era. More nice pork in the freezer. We're still enjoying the meat from a young boar I got a while ago.
Have you ever considered using a spear, without the atlatl part? And is there a particular reason you don’t use regular spears? I love your videos regardless, I’m just curious
I have wondered this as well. I know that they hit so much harder with the atlatl but if at one time people threw spears without the atlatl then it's worth a try.
In a previous video you mentioned that it would be nearly impossible to stalk a deer with an atlatl. Do you expect it was more likely that ancient atlatl hunters hid and ambushed deer rather than stalked them?
I am no expert at all. Maybe someone more qualified can chime in, but I am fairly certain most prehistoric hunting of big game was not done in this way. Mostly they used larger groups to drive game along game trails into waiting men ready to make throws/shots. Also nets were commonly used. Not so romantic but more effective than one person stalking through the woods. Lots of guessing and conjecture here though.

Are these areas hunting reserves where there is control so as not to wipe out all the animals?
