PLEASE do NOT suggest a dog can be secured by the collar! My friend's dog nearly strangled itself with an emergency stop. You are the only person I've heard suggest collar or harness. Normally it's stressed not to attach car seat buckle to collar. Hope you find this information useful and please look up the facts yourself.

yeah i was about to say, not the best idea to attach the seatbelt to a regular collar
although if the seatbelt is bungee than a maybe with a collar,
