I’m aware of legendary status of Akai MPC 4000 and I’m aware also that saying bad things about it can be really controversial. But I’m not gonna pretend that I like something that I don’t.
You don’t master this unit and you don’t have Time to invest in it so this machine is not for you.Period this unit can only be touched by the 3k. All serious people already knows that. Thanks for the feedback by the way.
You gotta sit with this beauty and get to know her bruh, this machine was way ahead of it's time once you put the time and effort into her she'll be the best thing you could ever have.
0:52 This is the point! MPC4000 is a beast, it's a complicated machine because it's not a beatmaker's MPC, it's a musician's/producer's MPC. I'm sure you'd master it if you worked on it for a few months. You still managed to make nice beats on that MP, so if you owned it, you'd love it.
As a owner of both the 4K and the 2KXL ... the 4K is the best of the classic devices in terms of features and sound manipulation of samples. Yes the 2KXL is simpler to use but the 4K gives you more sound manipulation options, more effects etc... The 4K was ahead of the times when it came out and the newer MPC's are even way more complicated of a tool than the 4K ever was. My thoughts....sit with it for at least a month and make music and you'll come to appreciate it much more. There's a very real reason that producers like JustBlaze praised it and still does :) Great beats by the way
The 4K burry the 2k series in term of workflow and consistancy. Far more quicker to produce with it. Second best mpc after the mpc 3000. And I own the 60 3000 2k 2k xl 4k sold the 2500 and 5000 not professionnal enough try to layer sounds in these you Will have a unwanted phraser effect. The 4k is a strong piece layer like a champ and more the post advanced MPC ever.
@vubeatz I bought a Blue MPC 4000 from a guy bout a month ago for $525 (major steal!!!). It was a bit of a learning curve but after watching a few videos and about 5 days of non stop working on it, I got the workflow down.
Here's a tip: download the Akai z4/z8 user's manual. This helped me understand how the sampler works and made the workflow easier. BTW those beats are fire for your first time on it! Keep at it!🔥
Once you get into the modulation matrix you can add life to your music/beats.Took my a good while but it’s far more powerful than any other MPC.Big sound too….
Your vids are awesome! Its so hard to choose between 4k, 2500 and 2000xl, but it seems I want nice drums and simplicity without overcomplicating myself, so 2000xl it is, I guess. The beats are banging actually. How is the sound compared to 2000xl and 2500?
Thanks :) if You put 4K, 2500 and 2000xl I would go with that 2000xl if sound is important for you and with 2500 JJOS if you prefer functionality. 4K in sounding measures it’s not so special I think.

Yeah deffo needs time invested, sometimes I chop on the X or pro tools then resample into 4k.

Mpc 3000 & mpc 3000le is the best, satisfaction guaranteed 👌
It has a software Asksis.. you have to kinda use that to understand the work flow
You have to admit it sounds good😊

@@DanielIvan707 I think I will be overwhelmed, and have exact dissatisfied face like on thumbnail. Will look into it after a year or so with 2kxl

Will you make a proper tutorial for the 4K one day? Peace
Nope, this 4K is not mine so I will not have it for so long to actually learn that beat machine
