So, I tried this recipe and I realized that 1/2 cup of Sherry would still be too much. I watched Mr. Make It Happen video and he used 5 cups of liquid (2 cups of chicken stock, 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of half & half), so using 1/2 cup of Sherry makes sense for him. I only used 2 cups of veggie broth and 1 can of coconut cream.....that Sherry was Sherry-ing sis 🤣🤣. The less liquid that you use, the less Sherry to use, in my opinion. I will use 1/4 cup the next time. But, it was still good and I never had She Crab soup before.

Erin...I cannot find any kind of vegan heavy cream here in the Seattle area..not even at Sprouts.....do you think homemade cashew cream would work in this soup? I'm reluctant to go the coconut milk/cream route...

maybe but honestly I would try the coconut milk since that was the only choice before substitutes came out....I just checked amazon and they have the vegan whipping cream

Imma make this, but what would be a good replacement for the sherri wine? I don't care for alcohol... I'll just skip that part if there's no replacement...

I would suggest liquid aminos ( soy sauce )
