It's basically a Lich King and his monster servants conquering the world. The Lich King is less "evil" and more just mostly emotionally stunned. He doesn't mind slaughter, but he'd rather avoid having to do that generally. He's absolutely unstoppable in general. The story follows his people as well as the various people and different races being conquered.
Perfectly put. On top of that, Overlord is one of the few animes that manage to portray a large amount of characters (dozens of them) and make all of them interesting in their own way, not to the point that they'd be considered main characters, but I hesitate in calling lots of them mere supporting characters as well.
@@snyviperAnd even when anime adaptaion cuts out some of these characters' stories, but they can still maintain our interest. Man, the amount of detail in the novel makes it even more impressive considering the author is a D&D player
A good simple way to describe him would be morally grey tho later seasons he definitely starts leaning towards the more villainous side.
yeah no, iam sick of the ainz isnt evill sthick, dude's fucking evill plain and simple, dude abducts 200.000 people to fucked up breeding experiments and human skin harvesting for magic scrolls, and destroys an entire kingdom while slaughtering ALMOST all of its people at the slightest provocation and just to prove a point, the only time he's not a evill douchebag outside of nazarick is if somebody might have a use for him. otherwise the dude's hitler levels of evill
@@raymurray3401 him still prefer not to kill ecc,but his priority are keeping nazarick safe(not realizing how they are already the strongest arounf) and keeping his facade to not disappoint the npc,in the novel one charachter while dying see his soul and say in short that him someone who bound itself to his past and not see the joy in the present and future, in fact the times we see him the happiest are the one where him have not to fake being a super genius and can simply travel and learn ecc
You absolutely have to watch it, even if you are not gonna react to it. This show is very entertaining.

Overlord is a show i just keep rewatching. There are barely any shows about the "evil" guy being the main character, and watching this just scratches that itch perfectly
And it's not the edgy evil. It's this delicious insidious/indifferent evil.

As an anime, Overlord is good because underneath the visuals, the A-plot and the B-plot, there's the main character's slide into madness: he's a salary man who was transported into another world, into the body of his video game character, surrounded by some of the most evil creatures on the planet, all of whom think he's an infallible genius, and he's desperately keeping up the charade, afraid that they'll turn on him if he fails.
The "slide into madness" is a very underrated part of the show.
And I don't blame anyone for missing it because it is subtle AF. It's not cackling mad madness but the kind of slide into apathy with TON of power.

Interesting fact the first 2 seasons the intro is sung by the male singer while the outro is done by the female singer. Then for the 3rd season they switched the female singer to the intro and the male singer to the outro. Which actually went quite well with the fact the 3rd season kind of took what you thought you knew and flipped it.

One of, if not my favorite, anime ever. See profile picture. It's off key a little bit, dark, funny and epic. Maybe not for every anime enjoyer but if you like the music and aesthetic just from the openings it'll be your bag. The characters and story are really great in Overlord if you're paying attention. Lot's of unnecessary, dramatic moments because these people don't understand the other ones, epic fight scenes and wtf moments. If you don't want to think and just watch a Lich King try to take over the world it's that too. Highly recommend.

Before I reccomend more anime openings, I am going to actually reccomend checking out all the Overlord Ending songs (1-4) next, besides anime openings there are also a lot of amazing anime endings.
For more anime openings recommendations I would suggest next:
-Fire Force op 1-4
-Re:Zero op -4
I'd recommend you to listen to full version of these openings. Also check out Overlord's ED as well
Jujutsu kaisen has some very good openings

there some dymbolizim in the opening and you should watch the anime it pretty good and the op and ED are bangers so enjoy them ^^

Overlord is easily one of the top 5 Isekai anime out there, and probably in the top 10 anime overall
save your self the time and just put these at the top best anime and best songs
you should definitely watch overlord but i request also taking a look at Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury openings and the show its self

i tell you what, if you REALLY liked Voracity check out the english cover from AmaLee. I promis you, its worth hearing day in, day out. i know i am late but better late then never.
Here are some suggestions
First you should ask your comment section if we audience would like to see the ending as well and another thing this anime is an isekai anime very different from others so not to ruin your isekai impression you should watch sword art online or re:zero or that time I got reincarnated as a slime . Any one of these 3 will give you what can an isekai anime be and Lastly opening suggestions. Sword art online opening are some of the best and mob psycho 100 openings are god level and at last check out fire force openings.
I tell ya mate jojos bizarre adventure has some of the best openings in all of anime they are a must watch with many different styles
overlord is a pretty dang good show if i do say so myself and as you said youself it does have a good story, but one thing you have to keep in mind about all anime is that it my be a little horny.
attack on titan is a exception not the Rule
to simplify the beginning story, game is about to shut down and he falls a sleep, he wakes up in a new world as hes game character with hes guild's NPC's that are new sentient beings/no longer NPC's, try to be a leader to degenerate beings who like to some torture others and some kill others, he has small number of ppl that twisted, he just has no clue that they are like that, he just thinks some of them are bit kinky that's all, so he has 2 paths evil path and anti-hero path, question is how it turns out, like even if he wants to go anti-hero path can he do it or will some of hes ppl screw it up?

It's crazy that most people don't like the 3rd opening because it's a different artist from the usual artists who do the Overlord openings but it's just as good as 1 and 4 while 2 is my least favorite of the bunch.
Overlord Openings are the most unique but Overlord endings are generally my favorite
Overlord is tied at my favorite of all time with One Piece.
Speaking of, you should do One Piece openings. There might be several videos for how many there are lol, the series is over 20 years old.
