Dimebag Darrel Abbot got shoot during a Damageplan consert
He was the lead guitarist in Pantera,Damageplan and to some other projects that he did with hes brother Vinnie Paul R.I.P 1966-2004

My heart aches right now. I’ve been listening to Pantera since 94’ and seeing all the video’s of how awesome Dime and Vinnie were just breaks my heart in two. Then to think of what Vinnie had to endure after losing Dime? That is like taking away the sun from a sun rise. You just don’t want that to ever happen. I’m thankful we had them in the music world, they definitely stand out from the rest of the musicians out there. That is what makes it that much harder.

I'm 13, I just got into bands like Metallica Slipknot and Pantera, ya know the list goes on, but I recently got into metal maybe 6 months ago, I've always been a classic rock fan, that's beside the point, I just wanted to mention how I feel such a strong love and passion and respect for a guy I never met, a guy who died two years before I was born yet I respect, love, and admire him so much that's how you know what a good person he is like really though in everything I've seen with Dime he just seems like a chill dude, he doesn't seem to have much disrespect for anyone, and he seems so kind and friendly and so talented, I could get into more but you guys already know what I'm getting at cause you know about the legend Dimebag Fucking Darrell, R.I.P Darrell Lance Abott, 1966-2004, one of earths best most talented people, I'd do anything to meet you, we all love you yet again R.I.P.

I met Dimebag in 1989 after a soundcheck. I asked if he would step outside so he could checkout my guitar. He said "sure". When he opened the case his eyes lit up and he grabbed it and said "dude this is a fuckin badass guitar!" I said with a huge grin " I know bro!"
Then I said "how do you play the intro to Cowboys from hell?"
So Dime proceeds to play and teach the riff using my own guitar
Next he put my guitar back in the case and said "see ya tonight little brother" I was 16. We had the same hair exactly. Still do:)
Anyway the show was badass and we met at the afterparty and he remembered me and treated me like a brother for those few minutes of time. He was so happy.
He truly was a 16 year old trapped in a 23 year olds body. In fact he was 16 his whole life and I have definitely followed suit. We became guitar brothers that day and night. This memory is one that I play back over and over. I know we will meet again.See you on the other side.

How appropriate being how last nite I got to go see Zakk n Black Label Society play 4 the 1st time I had gotten the chance 2 C em play live & was also my 1st visit to Boston & the "House of Blues in Boston, Mass. What great N amazing experience & performance by all!!!
Ironically I also was pleasantly surprised when I went 2 see Skid Row at the Flynn in Burlington Vt. It was the 1st time EVER hearing Pantera's music! HONESTLY NVR seen a mosh pit like it since EITHER in my entire life time as it was with Pantera's "Cowboys from Hell" I believe if memory serves me rite. They instantly become 1 of my fav heavy metal bands n I'll NVR 4get seeing em live!!. I remember thinking that the opening bands I've seen who rarely brings it like they did that day making me become an instant fan 4 life!!!
