ANY ZHU YUAN PULLERS?!??!?! (me) TO PEOPLE USING A CN CALC AGAINST MY AND OTHER EN TCS CALCS: Upon doing many tests this CC looks to have made a mistake in interpreting how the signature w-engine works. Refer to my community post for more detailed info. I believe my calcs to be correct as they use all in game tested multipliers and simulated proper stack building and rotations. NOTES: - Made a mistake but I consider Basic > Chain > EX = Dodge > Assist to be the proper level priority. I put Dodge one too low by accident, but it scales the dash attacks that we are using in all these wack combos, so levelling it helps a lot (after the rest)!
Her EX also has a dash version (hold a direction while pressing skill) that lets her skip BA2/6 like a dash basic attack, so she can do BA1>EX dash>BA345 to quickly generate 5 shots in one combo, or even 8 if you have enough energy for another EX at the end. It works between BA4 and 5 as well.
She feels a lot like an S rank version of Billy. Her special dodge is even part of Billy’s attacks too. Zhu just has more depth to her combat, like Billy was a starter version of her.
She has AoE crowd control like nicole too, this is another s tier like ellen does idc if people said she wasnt, she provide huge value to team just like ellen
You're the only one to mention it and it's why you're my go too guide maker. Yes her weapon isn't a massive increase but it doesn't mean it's not useful, It can just be completely made up for with gear. im pulling it myself for that ease of building, and I also want R5 nicole weapon (and M6 her hopefully she's at 2 for me atm) since she's my favorite support

Super helpful to see her attack animation/kit breakdowns. I definitely feel the mission demo with her didn't quite give me as good a feel for how her kit works and what she wants to do, so this helps a lot.
Just pulled her (after losing the 50/50 to Grace, which I'm really not complaining about) and I came straight here to figure out which W-Engine to use, as I can't afford to pull for her signature after that 50/50 loss. Thanks so much, as always. Really appreciate all the work you put into this stuff.
Definitely getting her. She was super fun to play in the Chapter 2 Interlude, and the writing since then, including the recent trailers, has only made her more endearing. I'm glad her signature doesn't have a big leg up over other W-Engines, but in a bizarre way, it makes me want to take a risk and try to get Ellen's signature before the banners swap over. I want Ellen to remain strong, and given that I don't have Lycaon yet, her W-Engine would be the best to way to ensure that. I wanted to avoid topping up in this game for a while, and winning the 50/50 for Ellen gave me the leeway I needed to do that. With how many wishes we get during these early patches, I was on track to still be able to get both Zhu Yuan and Qingyi even if I lost one or both 50/50's.

My mind goes blank when I try and remember all the specific combos. Thankfully she's pretty intuitive to play and definitely strong whether you suffer from skill issues or not.

So around 5:21 when zhu yuan is doing her suppressive mode attack, qinyi (pardon the spelling) appeared. Is this the same as when you pair ben and koleda?

I’m not sure if this was mentioned or has any significant impact on rotations, but after a dodge counter, Zhu Yuan immediately starts at her 3rd basic. I think this should at least make regular dodging with her viable (if not more practical/easier to execute) as a dodge counter gives 1 ammo, and finishing the combo would give 2 more
In my experience only using a team with her so far, learning a basic attack sequence is useless since you shouldn't be using it to begin with without shells. That time is much better spent on field with a stunner to open the enemy up quicker, as Zhu Yuan has no problem getting her shells. I do stun > chain attack, ending with support (Nicole) > quick swap to Zhu Yuan > fire 3 shells > ult/ex > backswap to Nicole, doing so partway through the ex animation if I used it > Nicole ex > quick swap > fire shells until stun runs out, rinse and repeat until enemies are dead
I managed to win 50/50 right on the 75th pull. Very happy man, I have both Ellen and Zhu Yuan, and Lycaon and Koleda for each. I'm only a monthly buyer and I exhausted most of the polychromes at this point tho. Safe to say I'm skipping W-Engines. Characters just open up more possibilities.
I got her! And I didn’t understand why she had a « bad » dps compared to my Ellen, but when I did a full rotation Anby/Nicole and THEN switched to her, quick burst combo and was shocked that the enemies were already dead she has such a strong burst it’s impressive
Assuming you got Nicole at C6 and her weapon, would you still go for crit rate disk in slot 4, or crit damage instead? With her Core passive+ Nicole+ WEngine+2p Woodpecker, she gets to 73% crit rate, so with even a few CR subs she'll sit at 80%+ with pretty much guaranteed sources
Got Lycaon followed by Zhu with my 95 pulls and I'm very happy since those were the two I really wanted. Might just stick with one of the A rank W-Engines since I'm unfortunately not made of money and I'd rather save my pulls for Jane Doe when she drops. Thanks for the tips, much appreciated

She came home early for me. Was trying to get cinema unlocks for Nicole and build pity.. Was planning a cunning hairs side two team (Nekomata, Nicole and Anby). Well now i have the Either vs Physical damage flexibility depending on enemy line up. Not complaining. Ellen is my side 1. Got a Sokakau cinema along the way. Win there too
i love the fact that hoyo is finaly making a somewhat mechanically challenging kits to execute and i hope they keep upping the diff of them, unlikely since that would gatekeep a lot of players but there is a chance
6:35 why do you say that "charged basic 1 into side dash" is a DPS loss? I thought that the suppressive side dash did as much damage as the suppressive basic 1 and 2?
In between combo part 1 and part 2, probably a good idea to swap nicole back in for buff refresh before quick assisting back to zhu yuan. Having the buff is 100% worthwhile just costing a few seconds out of stun window. I’d also burn ult first in part one (instead of EX) if you have it available.
When you say Nicole's Ether Dmg is not vulnerability it's dmg% bonus, are you talking about her Passive "All squad members deal 25% more Ether Dmg to the target for 3.5s"?

I’ll try to get her M1, she’s very fun I wasn’t convinced but I think in this game a dps so versatile like her will be rare, Ellen I think it’s strong but she relays in a premium team and her signature to be that strong, Zhu yuan feels different in that sense.

I think it should be mentioned that if you nabbed M6 Ben with Cylinder and don't have an invested Anby, I think he is by far the best in Slot for a casual player running Zhu/Nicole. His stun capability is extremely high for a non stun unit, his damage in quick swap in to counters is huge and he also applies an immense shield for comfort. Anbys faction bonus is really mediocre and Ben can live without his own. He can also solo anything in the game if you're having trouble with Deaths. Unlike Anby, Ben won't be interrupted whilst trying to daze enemies and has much better crowd control. I think there's a reason he is on this banner and many will likely hit his M6 chasing Zhu and Nicole.

On burst rotation, should i use nicole's charged E before assiat swap to zhuyuan or just swap immediately after the chain attack? I feel like Nicole's debuff wouldn't last the whole duration of the burst rotation if just using her chain, thanks

Yep. Testing with ether dmg mainstat and it does not provide a 1.25x damage amp (vulnerability) instead it saturates
now im feels very bad for spending my resources on her weapon... damn, why i didn't saw this video before it

Got her weapon in 10 pulls by accident while trying to get a copy of Nicole's weapon and now I'm feeling kinda bummed after finding out it isn't that much better than Brimstone. Still grateful tho.

I’ll try to get her M1, she’s very fun I wasn’t convinced but I think in this game a dps so versatile like her will be rare, Ellen I think it’s strong but she relays in a premium team and her signature to be that strong, Zhu yuan feels different in that sense.

Thanks for the guide! Quick question - if my Anby is tied up with Soukaku and Ellen, who should I put as a second support on Zhu's team? Nicole is a given, I've also got Lucy and Ben. Don't have any other stun units at all, so that's a bit of an issue, I'll probably pull on Qingyi's banner
Won my 50/50 for Ellen, and again won my 50/50 for Zhu Yuan! Luck is on my side for ZZZ (totally was expecting to lose it to a standard 5 star lmao)
I think it should be mentioned that if you nabbed M6 Ben with Cylinder and don't have an invested Anby, I think he is by far the best in Slot for a casual player running Zhu/Nicole.
His stun capability is extremely high for a non stun unit, his damage in quick swap in to counters is huge and he also applies an immense shield for comfort. Anbys faction bonus is really mediocre and Ben can live without his own. He can also solo anything in the game if you're having trouble with Deaths.
Unlike Anby, Ben won't be interrupted whilst trying to daze enemies and has much better crowd control. I think there's a reason he is on this banner and many will likely hit his M6 chasing Zhu and Nicole.

I have a little question tho, bc im really bad at the build, teamcombination, etc. things. my current team is ellen, anby, grace and i am planning to put zhu yuan and nicole in my 2nd team. do u think nekomata would work as 3rd member? because sukakou doesent really feel like she should be in this comb for me, but what do you think?
as someone who panics a lot i may or may not be spamming the basic and e 😭 still trying the suggested combo though
On burst rotation, should i use nicole's charged E before assiat swap to zhuyuan or just swap immediately after the chain attack? I feel like Nicole's debuff wouldn't last the whole duration of the burst rotation if just using her chain, thanks
Little question. Wouldnt crit dmg piece is better bcs she already got free 30% crit rate?
She still gets a ton of CDMG, so getting to the 70% cap is nice
