If you need help, they'll of course treat you but you or your insurance will have to reimburse their healthcare system which is funded by taxes you didn't pay.
@@Hezzey that got me curious so I went to research on it. From what I found, the melody was composed by a french-canadian man named Calixa Lavallée (which is a super cool name) and the french lyrics written by Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier; the english lyrics were written by Robert Stanley Weir. Apparently Calixa composed operettas and the 2 lyricists were poets.

There are a lot of us Americans who want national health care (Bernie Sanders pretty much based both of his failed Presidential campaigns around it), but a majority of our politiciabs don't want it, and a sizable chuck of our population have been convinced that it's "socialism".
True Story.... My wife I were coming back to Halifax from a vacation in Florida with the kids during March break, and on approach to the Halifax airport - where everything was still white and frozen - there were two American girls sitting in front of us looking out the window and "ooooh-ing" and "aahhh-ing" about all the pine trees as far as the eye could see, and they took note of all the frozen lakes (as far as the eye could see) and they couldn't grasp what they were looking at. They were saying things like "Is that white SAND? Are those steamy hot springs?". I poked my head over the top of their seats and I said "Those are LAKES... They are FROZEN... because it's still WINTER here in Canada". And I could tell by the expressions on their faces that they were NOT prepared.
Hahaha too good. When the Canadian National Anthem started playing Ryan stood up straight and Adam put his hand on his chest lol that is just too good 😂 😂 😂 true patriots The Canadian Dove, the Beaver 😂 I would love to visit Canada one day, if I can ever afford it. Being an Australian, I have never seen snow in my life, and I’m 32. It does snow here in some places but not many so most of us have never seen snow. I would love to see the snow and enjoy Canada and the Canadian hospitality that Canada has a reputation for. Great reaction. Love you guys. 😀
I've gone to Cabada a few times over the last 15 years - primarily Vancouver Island. At first, it felt very much like the US with different numbers on the signs. The last time I went, it all felt like someone had taken every bad idea that Oregon ever had and absolutely RAN with it. It was fun visiting friends and family, but I was happy to be back in the States.
What is this free healthcare our friends to the North speak of?!? Taking care of your own people? You guys sound like an advanced civilization... the nerve. lol I’ve only been to Victoria and Vancouver given that it’s a short drive from Seattle. I’ve experienced every season up there and I love Canadians.
@Co M. it’s not terrible but it’s slow. Having said that at least we take of our citizens with free healthcare and don’t destroy them by bankrupting a sick person. That is just cruel and heartless. Welcome to the USA.
@Co M. Dear whatever, I am sorry you are so sour and mistrustful. And what's this about people being forced to speak a language ? That is, my friend, total disinformation. Faites-vous soigner.
Been to Canada a few times. Only time I've ever had a problem is in Quebec. Had a guy want to fight me because I didn't know French. Worth it though because I got free drinks the rest of the night from the manager as an apology.
I'm from the States and went to Vancouver for work in the time before GPS on phones. I took the train from the airport to downtown and pulled out my printed out map to get my bearings and head to the hotel. I have no fewer than five people come up to me and say, "Hey buddy, need a hand with something?". I was pointed in the direction of my hotel. On the way there came across a homeless man that said, "Hey pal, spare some change?" I didn't have any cash on me at all I said I was sorry, just got in to town and only have credit cards. He said, "That's OK. Have a great day!"
One summer break me and my brother did a bicycle trip to Vancouver island and environs. I went to a small store to get a soda. I saw a flavor I hadn’t seen before “raisin”. I bought it and was surprised it tasted like grape soda. I turned the can around to the English side. Yep I felt like a stupid ass on so many levels 😂😂. We had a great time in your great country.
Wait.. Canada has FREE healthcare? Who pays the doctors? Who builds and maintains the hospitals? Who makes the drugs? "sure we pay higher taxes" Oh, so it's not free. At all. It is just government run health insurance that you can't opt out of. and yeah, you might be super happy with your not free "free" healthcare, but a starving North Korean kid is also super happy about getting his monthly 2oz allowance of rice from the government.
Agree. The example of waiting for you ration of rice is on point As is US government paying single mothers to have kids. The more kids the more money. "Government" pays the rent, food, medical, schooling and nothing is enough because free is not highest quality.
Tom Macdonald, has a Rap song called Buttholes, in it he's standing, wearing a pair of swimming trunks with the maple leaf on them. After the song's over they show makings of the clips for it. The part I found funny was when he standing trying to get a perfect cut a mosquito would bite him so he'd have to slap it. Can't get more Canadian than that, sometimes.
It's pretty good! Like most countries we have our good and bad aspects but overall I like to look at Canada as the country of the world. So many different faces and places. - Adam
Slight misconception for the Americans: Canada is not special with their free healthcare. Most first world countries in Europe have that too. Not sure about Asia, but wouldnt be surprised if they had it for free in Japan and South Korea too. So USA, you are the special one, cus you're the so called leaders of the free world and one of the richest countries in the world, but free healthcare and education is still not a thing.
As an American, I totally agree! We SHOULD be smarter. I would rather pay slightly higher taxes to know that my family, friends, community gets free health care than watch people go bankrupt and die from not having money for insulin.
We had a Canadian in our office in Edinburgh. We always used to keep saying he was an American pretending to be Canadian. When an American started their for a summer job he joined in telling the Canadian he should be ashamed of himself denying he was American.
Back in '99, I took a trip to Montreal, my first trip as an adult. When the people I met learned that I was from Ohio, they laughed and called me Drew Carey. I didn't know much French at the time and it was embarrassing when the beggars would ask for money in French and then roll their eyes and switch to English when I looked blank. Went on an English-speaking motor coach tour that was mostly Americans and it was mortifying when a large woman in an orange sweat suit hustled on to the bus at the last minute yelling wait for me wait for me as she clutched two enormous bags of crap from McDonalds that stank up the whole bus. The driver was a very nice man, upfront about the commissions he got from some of the places we visited and he paid special attention to me since I was alone and reasonably cute at the time. I noticed that most of the people I saw had dark hair so I stood out for being blonde; got asked many times if I was German. Seems like we've got Germans and Irish making up the bulk of the euro-culture mainstream in the U.S. and Canada has the French and Scottish? Maybe that's why Canadians have a reputation for being quieter and more rational.
I live by the border. I remember when I was a kid and we only had 3 channels, 4 with pbs. In the morning every day at, I think 6 a.m., both the Canadian National Anthem and the United States National Anthem. The Canadian Anthem was sung by children in red coats, Toukes (?), and in the white snow. I always liked that version. That was the 70’s
Just a quibble... while it is true that we don’t pay out of pocket for health care when sick, our health care is not “free”. We pay for it through our tax system.
Can't hate on Canada. Don't know how you guys put up with us americans. Still think Canada should have put up a border wall to keep us out. Especially lately.

When I was a lot younger (in the 70's), I was waiting for a bus and saw an American car drive by with a ski rack attched to the trunk of their car....with skis in it. I laughed by hoser ass off.
The last Maple Leafs Cup was 1967. I was born in 1968. I always say that in order for the Leafs to win the Cup again.....I have to die. lol Btw....I'm a Bostonian, so you know I'm a diehard Bruins fan. :)

Oh man I love seeing people get off planes who didn’t dress properly 😂-Adam
Hahaha too good. When the Canadian National Anthem started playing Ryan stood up straight and Adam put his hand on his chest lol that is just too good 😂 😂 😂 true patriots
The Canadian Dove, the Beaver 😂
I would love to visit Canada one day, if I can ever afford it. Being an Australian, I have never seen snow in my life, and I’m 32. It does snow here in some places but not many so most of us have never seen snow. I would love to see the snow and enjoy Canada and the Canadian hospitality that Canada has a reputation for.
Great reaction. Love you guys. 😀
Yeah come on over! :). Thanks for the support mate -Adam
The guy in the poutine shirt is adorable! 😍
Why thank you! - Adam (guy in poutine shirt)
My first beer was Molson Golden. Long time ago. And I lived in NY at the time.
What is this free healthcare our friends to the North speak of?!? Taking care of your own people?
You guys sound like an advanced civilization... the nerve. lol
I’ve only been to Victoria and Vancouver given that it’s a short drive from Seattle.
@Co M. no idea what you are talking about.
@Co M. no one dies of “slowness”.
Wait. You guys are neighbors?? Shit. Lucky. I wish I was you twos neighbor lol
Been to Canada a few times. Only time I've ever had a problem is in Quebec. Had a guy want to fight me because I didn't know French. Worth it though because I got free drinks the rest of the night from the manager as an apology.
We spent plenty of 19th Birthdays in Windsor...
-Love from Detroit neighbors
Hey fellas! Glad to hear it! Man I miss going to tigers games. Hopefully we can come back to your side soon! -Adam
Oh man I’m dying over here 😂 that’s a good story bud -Adam
Raisin is French for grape. The dried kind are called raisin sec. It's kinda redundant for English speakers!
Went to Toronto to see my favorite Gordon Lightfoot! ❤️
A family friend gave him his marriage certificate. He is an icon.
I've only been to Canada once and it was for 3 hours. As a teen during Spring Break, we took a ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria and that was it.
There was an entire episode where Lisa moves to Canada. You probably saw it, but it was a fairly recent episode starting in Niagra Falls.
Cool thanks for this! -Adam
Wait.. Canada has FREE healthcare? Who pays the doctors? Who builds and maintains the hospitals? Who makes the drugs?
"sure we pay higher taxes"
Oh, so it's not free. At all. It is just government run health insurance that you can't opt out of.
and yeah, you might be super happy with your not free "free" healthcare, but a starving North Korean kid is also super happy about getting his monthly 2oz allowance of rice from the government.
Agree. The example of waiting for you ration of rice is on point
As is US government paying single mothers to have kids.
Hope to visit Canada one day. It seems like a great place.
It's pretty good! Like most countries we have our good and bad aspects but overall I like to look at Canada as the country of the world. So many different faces and places. - Adam
I found my new favorite channel!
Tim Horton was on the last Leafs Cup team.
I'm Danish, and to me Canada sounds pretty much like this place. Just a whole lot bigger.
mmmm big danish...
@@bmorg7244 😁
@@Mr_Spock512 I believe you 🤔
There's literally a joke in South Park where they call the Danish the "Canadians of Europe."
Shout out from Quebec here!! That was funny but family guy was much better. "At the Canadian nudy bar" lol
#myrequest anything from Sugar Sammy
Slight misconception for the Americans: Canada is not special with their free healthcare. Most first world countries in Europe have that too. Not sure about Asia, but wouldnt be surprised if they had it for free in Japan and South Korea too.
So USA, you are the special one, cus you're the so called leaders of the free world and one of the richest countries in the world, but free healthcare and education is still not a thing.
China has free for citizens and VERY low cost for visiting foreigners.
As an American, I totally agree! We SHOULD be smarter. I would rather pay slightly higher taxes to know that my family, friends, community gets free health care than watch people go bankrupt and die from not having money for insulin.
@@tobythomas3413 Just for fun...Insulin is a Canadian invention.😊
iTS FREE IN aSIA TOO, EVEN OUR DRUGS ARE FREE, BUT WE CAN'T BUY CERTAIN DRUGS AT THE PHARMACY WITHOUT THE DOCTOR'S APPROVAL THOU.
No that's it back to Winnipeg lol my mum went to Canada in the 80s in January , I'm Australian so it was 40c in Australia to minus something in Canada
We had a Canadian in our office in Edinburgh. We always used to keep saying he was an American pretending to be Canadian. When an American started their for a summer job he joined in telling the Canadian he should be ashamed of himself denying he was American.
You can tell the guy on the right was truly offended lol
Got to do some Bob and Doug McKenzie eh,for our southern neighbor's🇨🇦😁
I live by the border. I remember when I was a kid and we only had 3 channels, 4 with pbs. In the morning every day at, I think 6 a.m., both the Canadian National Anthem and the United States National Anthem. The Canadian Anthem was sung by children in red coats, Toukes (?), and in the white snow. I always liked that version. That was the 70’s
“Well I’m warm and fed in my Newfoundlander bed, I’ll be an islander forever.”
I would keep calm and eat poutine if any Americans could make proper poutine.
There is no such thing. I'm good with straight jerky and trail mix.
Nothing to making proper poutine. US got real problems if they can’t make good poutine I’m staying where I am at 🇨🇦
Just a quibble... while it is true that we don’t pay out of pocket for health care when sick, our health care is not “free”. We pay for it through our tax system.
Can't hate on Canada. Don't know how you guys put up with us americans. Still think Canada should have put up a border wall to keep us out. Especially lately.
americans are also nice i dont know what you are talking about maybe you are the problem and i know lately america has gone down hill and btw i live in Minnesota so dont say i dont know what im talking about
went to bed with your vid on, plowed through quite a feew xD just for you xD
Awesome thank you for the support! - Adam
Sad shame they didn't have a reference to the iconic Canadian comedy show The Red Green Show. It would have been funny if they had a cameo of Red Green and Harold riding in the Possum Van. :)
This compilation didn't include the Newfie joke about the seal hunt. As a Newfoundlander, it was the only simpsons joke that ever offended me but I'm over it. That one still stings a lot of folks there.
I got some beef with that "veterans of one war" joke.
I feel like that everyone needs at least one Canadian friend
Surprised Justin hasn't changed the Canadian national anthem because white Canadians aren't "native"
I have seen maple leaves on trees. Why is the maple leaf on the Canadian flag upside down.
🤷♂️
When I was a lot younger (in the 70's), I was waiting for a bus and saw an American car drive by with a ski rack attched to the trunk of their car....with skis in it. I laughed by hoser ass off.
I'm from Michigan, and looking across Lake Huron I can confirm thier mouths/heads really work like that. Weird.
The last Maple Leafs Cup was 1967. I was born in 1968. I always say that in order for the Leafs to win the Cup again.....I have to die. lol
Btw....I'm a Bostonian, so you know I'm a diehard Bruins fan. :)
😂 -Adam
Toronto is doing awesome this year 1st in north division GO LEAFS GO
Amy Jo Johnson-

ALL Canadians!
Tuque on the heart, eh... awww, a true Canadian! lol
Omg when they sang the anthem I was like gee thanks I couldn't remember the English version and French is my second language lmao
Have you guys ever heard of drawn together if not you should check out the compilations on UA-cam. I’d leave a link but there are so many it be easier just to search it.
I've only spent about an hour in Canada (field trip back in 1996), but it was a good hour, haha.
American here, just found this video great job guys. Can someone Canadian explain the Regina looks like Saskatoon joke?
American free healthcare? I have to pay more taxes? I have a foamed mouth seizure at the thought of higher tax pay.
hahaha well as long as you don't go bankrupt because of a unforeseen health problem!
I'm Canadian and you can't say we can't take a joke!!❤ LOL
Canada seems cool to me in many ways. Reminds me of my home country Sweden in many ways.. Except for the Frenchies! :p
Et bien mon ami, I am sure you would get used to us frenchies...
🤣🤣🤣🤣 nice jab at qubec 😂😂😂
O, Canada; whoah, Canada. 😜
Ok. Hands down. Loved it.
I've never been to Canada but I'd love to visit someday. I live in Minnesota and it would be a few hour drive
