Pro TIp I just take a rectangle piece of paper perferbaly a thicker paper it can be smaller than the laptop I just draw the screw holes and draw where the hinges are and then just poke the screw right into the paper. THis keeps the screws from getting lost and when putting it back its easy.

As MikeB points out, this is not the video for most here, me included. This vid misrepresents the tasks significantly. A NEW Z17 doesn't come apart anything like as easily as the demo, mostly because there is tape everywhere that does not let go. The method of removing the cables is just rubbish, and nothing is said about the very important task for each one on reconnecting. There are several different types of connectors and each one needs its own special way. For me, the small cable next to the camera plug from the screen wouldn't tighten up again, so I wound up pinching a bit of the excellent canvas tape and securely holding it in that way, hoping the one on top will keep it in firm contact. I also damaged the tops of two of the bigger cable connectors, they did seem to clip in OK and I made sure they were well taped down. So far, so good. But I know very well I will have to send the laptop back to MSI for a proper repair if any of these connectors let go. I figured I had built many PC's and changed the screens on a couple of iPhones and an Android, how hard could it be? If you get to disconnect the screen and cannot figure out how to release and reconnect the main cable, don't go any further, stop there, get help. Sure I now have the 64Gb ram in there I wanted, but I will regard it as a borderline reliable laptop, until I forget about it and that comes back to bite me! Also of note, I only put in a new 4Tb ssd on the easy side, had I known it performed roughly 50% better than the 1Tb Samsung OEM one on the back (with the RAM), I would have changed that too, or at least swapped them round so it could be got at later... I suggest get some hard performance numbers and make your own mind up before you go in...

Had I known I'd have to jump all this hoops to add a 2nd nvme, I might not have ordered this. At least it was on a decent discount...
Edit: NVM the 2nd nvme is of easy access. Mine was very easy to install

I successfully upgraded my Creator Z17 by installing two new RAM modules and an additional SSD, all thanks to the guidance provided in this helpful video (Thank you!). It's astonishing that MSI doesn't offer this information themselves. Mike and @Vinces2 pointed out that there are certain nuances and challenges not covered in the video. The most daunting aspect of the upgrade was handling the cables. The cable clamps proved to be particularly tricky, causing some moments of panic as I struggled to reconnect them properly. Unfortunately, I ended up breaking a few small parts of the clamps in the process. At one point, I even questioned my decision to attempt the upgrade without professional assistance.
Despite the challenges, when I finally powered on the computer, it was like witnessing a miracle, albeit with a slightly longer startup time than usual. Everything is now running smoothly and significantly faster with the upgraded 64GB of RAM and an additional 2TB SSD. I followed @rawraj's advice of using sheets of paper to map out the screws, which proved to be invaluable. For anyone daring enough to undertake a similar upgrade, I strongly recommend thoroughly studying how to disconnect and reconnect the specific ribbon cables (before doing it), and having some canvas tape on hand wouldn't hurt either.

Just went and changed my ram and after trying to do it as you showed and some of the clips broke and now my screen has lines, I'm hoping I can fix it but one of the 3 connectors fron the screen seems to be moving. It's crazy that a 4 thousand dollar laptop is make so cheap. Any suggestions on how to line up the connectors and make it not move?. The ddp seems to be fine and the touchscreen one also, the 3rd one you said was the camera and that is the one moving. Not sure which one it would be.

Hello. Tell me, please, is there any upgrade in terms of the cooling system? It gets very hot, which hurts to touch the metal case. Who and how generally copes with it?

In MSI Center, you can adjust the fan speed. It's under Optimization, then User Scenario.

WTF Is this so difficult to upgrade. Shit. The model available in my country in 16GB I need to max it out to 64GB> damn there is no way I would trust the MSI service center technician in my city with the upgrade cause they don't hire computer eningeers. They just hire anyone with experienc working for an assembler. Damn. Unless they upgrade it from the factory I won't be buying this. These idiots never us anti static gloves or ground themselves when upgrading or assembling.
