Ive been learning for a month. And at first i thought to myself i had a knack for it. Then i discovered ICTs stuff from all sorts of different traders and it seems to work for them but its shot my confidence into the toilet thank god im still on demo
You need to stick at demo at least a year
I've been trading for almost 4 months myself. I was tearing it up for the first two months, then the market started drawing down and I lost almost all the way down to where I started......really frustrating. I hate that I didn't discover this trading thing before now........missed out on an incredible past decade of the market ripping upwards, with a few exceptions. It seems like trading is going to be a lot more difficult for a while going forward, at least for swing trading.

I promise if you continue this journey long term, it will test your metal. You will continue to feel that knack, then be humbled, then work out a strategy you think works and you get results for a week, then It will fall apart for the next 3 weeks having 19 losses in a row, then you will go back and understand what rules you need to follow, then you will trade and only follow 3 out of 5 rules for a week and fail, then you will follow all your rules, it will work for a week and then it will fail again and you will once again lose 19 times in a row. In the process you realise you also haven't been following your risk management rules perfectly, then you will, then you will spend time backtesting realising your strategy only works for 3 out of the 12 months of the year, then you will spend another 6 months working on a strategy that works long term for you. It works on backtesting, but doesn't when you forward test and you realise you are unconsciously making emotional decisions only realising after the trade failed. Then you will continue tonwork on your mindset as you realise you have an effective strategy, but then your mind is the problem, so you will spend another 6 months working on that. Eventually you will be ready to put real money into the market and then you will be faced with the exact same mental challenges after you realise trading with real money has another set of mindset challenges to surpass even though you have an effective strategy. Eventually, you will be able to make money and see results in your trading, and you will get over confident and bend your rules, and then you will lose money or lose your prop firm account. You will learn more lessons not to be over confident and re realise you have rules in place, and you need to be mechanical and let your rules trade for you. Eventually, after all the tens of thousands of hours, you will become the profitable long-term trader you always dreamed of being. The journey to get there requires a non emotional approach with extreme determination, self-control, dicipline, efficient learning skills, a huge amount of time sacrifice, and lifestyle sacrifice to get your head in the right mindset. The sacrifice required is double what you think it is, trust me I've been there and I'm still learning. You will be knocked down 10,000 times and get up 8,000, but you would have learned 10,000 lessons. If you are here in 6 months, Congratulations! You are in the top 50%. Good luck with the journey, and I wish you the best.

I am not a member of TMA but he is absolutely correct. It took me about 3 years to become a consistently profitable trader. You cannot sit on the sidelines and learn. My trading style is different than he teaches but he is on point.

yeaa i need to sign up for the trade floor and just do it😅 every day no matter how bad I am. If I stay siciplined I can carve out like a 2-3 hour window to trade London session. I just gotta stop being scared
