- The fallout in the prop trading space is continuing. with The funded trader going out of business.
After FNG exclusively reported earlier this month that prop trading firm The Funded Trader has stopped making payouts to its clients.

If they were making $10million a month, where did all the money go?
This is the end of all prop firms, alot of them are shutting down. 90% of them don't have contracts with meta quotes anymore and they have lame playforms with huge slippage etc.. The prop firm "dream" is over guys.. Stick to your own money and save up, trade on your own properly. Thats my advice!
Everyone knows how the game is played...take your winnings and pay down your debt and open up your own trading account and fund it with the prop firm money.

Instant payouts do not mean live accounts. It just means the company has enough revenue from losing traders to pay the winners. None of these internet prop firms A book traders
Basically, closing the company is just TFTs way of saying that those who are waiting payouts need not to expect anything anymore even in the future. TFT will change its name and will do the same business until they cannot payout again

A good example of why not to put all eggs in one basket. I’m in the middle of a funded challenge now. I think I’ll start trading with a standard broker alongside it to get some money coming in just in case, even though it’ll be a smaller income

Allowing 20 sim accounts with payouts is the issue. Can't have a trader take 1 trade a day for $200 on 20 accounts ($4000) and take a $40,000 payout every 10 days. There are good prop firms out there, just find the ones who have realistic limits.

Same old song and dance with more to come. We all know that people on UA-cam largely make more from TALKING about trading, rather than actually trading or having business sense to run a "prop firm".
Not to mention every "influencer" pushing affiliate links to the "best" firms but denying being a financial advisor and not to trust their opinions...This industry has to do better.

I haven´t found a single prop firm yet that are looking for investments on their homepages. Ok, maybe the investment came from a private person or a private group so they do not actually need to look for investments, but it´s still smelling fishy.
When a prop firm works the way you suggested, they should permanently be looking for investors, and actually they can offer pretty neat chances. You invest 100k or a million, those funds will be split among at least 10 persons, all proven to be successful, with an average profit of let´s say 7% per month. This would leave 1,4% on your capital and even if you spilt this profit 50:50 with the prop firm, there are still 0,7% profit, per month. That´s 8,73% a year. Even if 1 or 2 of the traders fail, you would make a great profit on your investment. So why is not a single prop firm looking for investors?.

This is insane - the whole concept of how prop firms work. Before I looked into them, I was under the impression that you pay your money to do the challenge and when you pass you're given a LIVE account. The company take 20% and you take 80%. This would pay for the staff and losses. To my amazement I found that prop firms DON'T give you a live account, when you pass, but instead PAY you your profits from all those people who have failed their challenge.
Is it me or is this not a trainwreck waiting to happen?
What if say 20 traders are exceptionally good and make 40% profit, between them, consistently a month? How on earth are these prop firms going to keep up? The answer is obviously, they're not.
I have been considering doing the challenge, but after the TFT debacle, I'm exceptionally wary. I'm just going to fund myself, having been learning how to trade for the last 3 years, full time, on multiple demo accounts (and live ones too).

The splits are ridiculously high BECAUSE they aren't putting up any money.
No one in their right mind is going to fully fund a live account for a trader and pay out 80%. (unless you are on ridiculously low leverage)
You go to any real prop (equities and futures), and you are looking at 20-40% profit split max...
Arty, can you please do a video on how you or what is the best way to avoid low volatility. There is a stock that I was trading that had the perfect supply and demand zones. They started off strong but almost immediately went weak and fell into low volatility, heck almost flat lined. It was very upsetting. I have been seeing this a few times this week. I really need advice on how to avoid these and stop wasting time. If you can, make a video on this. I really need to keep away from these types of trades
I don't understand why people goes for simulated prop firms?
I mean join those firms who offers real capital. I know they have plenty of strict rules but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is if the trader will be profitable or not.
95% of retail accounts loose money in less than three month.
We don't have a capital or prop firm problem. I think we all have greed, lack of experience problems.

I worked 3 months to save 55$ cuz 55$ is almost a salary in my country, I started with 55$ I'm on 20k. I never trust that funding stuff.

Can anyone recommend a US prop firm using real capital? I can't find one. I almost signed up this week for TFT. The other one on my list is Blue Guardian, but they use the same business model. I can't find one that uses live accounts at all.

to make it more interesting for the firms it should be allowed to use the data you have to possibly not pass some trades
this is to mitigate risk by not settling on those obviously they'd also assume extra risk which makes it balanced meaning nothing is wrong with it..
the issue is there isn't any sort of compensation for companies that dont stick to their word, but at the same time the risk to reward is worth it so im not complaining.

YES. Thank you - live accounts make money for all and give lots of incentives for the prop firm to not be sketchy. You have to charge more (basically the 10% DD) but it's worth it if you're profitable. Thank you for your integrity.

Your channel is the reason I got into forex and I've had a wonderful couple of years learning/consuming your content. I always come to your channel for news related topics like this as you do a great job in covering them. I could be off on this but you don't strike me as someone that set out to scam, maybe I'm wrong but that's my gut feeling. If you pass a challenge for lets say a 100k account, do you start at 100k again with the real funded account, or do the profits carry over?
If you're doing the free trail you get 5% of profit made if you pass it.
I almost put money on FTX just weeks before the collapse… I almost got an account on TFT just weeks ago… I’m gonna stick to AMP broker and Webull building smaller accounts on brokers who won’t fuck me over
