Finally you’re talking about HH. Pretty much everyone is on board with HH as front runner player of the year now. She actually should have got freshman POY last year. Ju Ju is great but HH is special.
Great video, I’m glad someone is finally noticing Hannah Hidalgo, she is my favorite player in the nation, she is absolutely relentless, her energy is through the roof every single game and she is the best perimeter defender in the nation, by the way she also beat JuJu’s team at USC and had a similar performance
If you’ve ever seen one of those dads at a little league game who yells so much his kid is afraid to mess up, which makes them mess up more - that is how I see Geno and Paige.
03:26 - "She's kind of...[quick pause announcing hard truth about to land]...psy-chotic?" That's the most HONEST and unplanned expression I've ever seen on UA-cam! I could see it in your eyes...'Should I finish this thought? Should I not? Oh to heck with it! It is what it is!' 😆😆😆😆😆😆
Hidalgo is better. Because she’s more fun to watch. Paige can miss a couple of shots and she’s done. She’ll just slip into the shadows and stop trying. It’s Hidalgo’s fire and how she electrifies the court that makes her better.
The most point scored per game is 28.6 by Ta'Niya Latson. Hannah Hidalgo is second and Juju Watkins is third. The best rebounder is Aneesah Morrow at 13.5 rebounds per game. The best passer is Georgia Amoore with 7.8 assists per game. The best shot blocker is Sedona Prince at 4 blocks per game. The most three point shots per game is Ivane Tensaie at 4.1 makes per game. The most steals per game is Kiyley Flowers at 4.1 steals per game. Tied for second are Hannah Hidalgo and Ny'Ceara Pryor at 4. One can easily argue that Hannah Hidalgo is one of the best players. She has an all-around ball game. I think that we will see some really good players coming into the league and the person we anoint as best may or may not be better than the other players. My impression of Hannah: 1) an incredible rebounder for her height. I think there is something innate in being a good rebounder because you have to pre-visualize what is going to happen to the ball as soon as it leaves the shooters hand and also be quick enough to get to the right spot. Her drive to the basket is really excellent, among the best I have seen. She is a good passer, but they are bland Stockton like passes, whereas I would characterize Caitlin Clark passes as flashy like Magic Johnson. Both kinds of passes can lead to an assist, but the flashy kind are more fun to watch. Her three point shots were wide open. I am shocked that nobody bothered to guard her closely. Like many women players, she has very little lift on her three point shots and at five and a half feet, I think she would have trouble getting clean shots off if she were closely guarded. If Geno thought that Paige was unable to guard her, that would be really damning because Paige seems the natural choice for that assignment. I would agree that Hannah Hidalgo is really fun to watch. But she is not as exciting to watch as Caitlin Clark. I think attendance figures will bear that out. Even so, I think she will be a great WNBA player. Not as fun to watch as Caitlin or Arike, but maybe even third on my list,
The algos brought me to your channel a few months back. Was a massive Bball consumer back in the day but severely curtailed watching/caring about it over the last decade with a mother with dementia and other responsibilities. Oddly, I am now avidly seeking out and watching your YT takes on CC the wnba and wbb. Ur opinions are well thought out, delivery exceptional, articulate and entertaining. Great job!
Hidalgo was phenomenal, and Geno Auriemma didn't hesitate to compliment her in his post-game press conference. Last year, when she torched UConn with 34 points, she was especially effective going to the net, so this time UConn planned to stop her that way and all she did was knock down a whole bunch of 3s. An impressive stat shown during the game was how she has reached 1,000 Notre Dame career points way earlier than other Irish stars who achieved that milestone. Look, I'm a loyal UConn fan, but right now all I can hope for is for the two teams to meet again in the NCAA tournament to give UConn a chance at redemption. Also, I thought it wouldn't matter much that Ashlynn Shade replaced the injured Azzi Fudd in the lineup; well, it DID matter, because Shade scored NO POINTS in the game. Congrats to Notre Dame and all its loyal fans! This is great for women's college basketball.
Stop using Fudd's absence as an excuse, ND has so many injuries that for several games now they have only been playing 6 (yes, only 6!!) to 8 players per night, usually 7, which was the case last night. If ND was completely healthy the only team that would be a challenge to them would be South Carolina.
Great analysis. Paige did play with greater fire in the past. I think she has stayed too long in college. But your apportioning guilt on to Geno is valid.
Not yet...She needs to be doing this over and over and it needs to become a formality (like Caitlin did). THEN Hannah can be considered "great". Folks are jumping too soon to crowning the next best thing. She just had a few great games, but don't think that other teams aren't going to adjust to her play like they did to JuJu and start locking her down and her numbers will go down. Having said that, yeah...I think she's going to be a beast. Her confidence is her number one skill.
The problem with naming young athletes “The Next Best” is they put pressure on that athlete and a target on that athlete. Who is going to get the raw end of the deal if that player gets injured? Not the media clowns I can promise you that
Paige didn't have an assist until the 4th quarter if I'm not mistaken, finished with 2 and 3 turnovers, even though Geno said she was more of a facilitator than Caitlin. He's throwing her under the bus again rather than take responsibility.
First, it was Angel, then Paige. I am going to stop watching your podcast. Every year, there is a new player who might be " The best ever." Ever. Since Caitlin came up through the ranks and broke every college record , there is always going to be a comparison. Enough already!°
If you want to watch someone who is actually really good like Hildago and not average like Paige and juju watch Ta'Niya Latson from Florida state .. she is actually really good

Hidalgo is a fast paced joy to watch! She is intense and knows how to channel it.
She had an impressive game against USC as well. She has lots of swagger.
Just wanted to say thank you for donating to a great cause!
Hannah is definitely the most exciting player in D I
Geno has thrown Paige under the bus so much it's counter productive!
If you’ve ever seen one of those dads at a little league game who yells so much his kid is afraid to mess up, which makes them mess up more - that is how I see Geno and Paige.
I hope Portland gets Hannah. Love her game
She’s absolutely better than Paige at this current time and brings more excitement to the game as well.

the media has been shoving paige on juju down our throats.
i wish hannah more success so we can cheer for someone we chose.
Geno is a good coach that has had teams loaded with talent.

Thanks....right now I need more Hannah Hidalgo commentary....i have her as 3rd best woman player in the world after Caitlin and Aja
Yes... Hildago is my favorite college player this year...has been since she and her team won against USC at USC. I've watched ND since that game.

Investing in the WNBA must feel like 2013 Bitcoin for Owners😂

She was first team AA last year. You must of not watched her. She plays the best vs good opponents
She was a first team all American as a freshman duh?
The problem with naming young athletes “The Next Best” is they put pressure on that athlete and a target on that athlete. Who is going to get the raw end of the deal if that player gets injured? Not the media clowns I can promise you that
She's already taken down USC and UCONN.
Paige didn't have an assist until the 4th quarter if I'm not mistaken, finished with 2 and 3 turnovers, even though Geno said she was more of a facilitator than Caitlin. He's throwing her under the bus again rather than take responsibility.
I put Paige and Ju Ju at #4 & #5!
HH will never be chosen by the wnba and the media because of her controversial stances on some topics that are near and dear to the wnba
If she adds a logo three to her game, it is over
Hidalgo is fun to watch. I haven’t watched the others and won’t.
