I love the relativity mod, which allows you to alter the speed of time, and it also allows you to adjust the speed of skill gain depending on your lifespan, so I won't have my sim skill goes to level 10 within a short period of time when I'm playing on a realistic lifespan (I need to change the pregnancy length to match up via Retuner which requires doing a little Mathematics though)
@@justabout6979 There is an option in Relativity called "Apply Life Span Skill Factor", which adds a factor based on the current life span to all skill gain modifiers when enabled. As for the pregnancy length, it lasts for 9 sim months.
All the years I've played, I've never had the nerve to use these, even though I've wanted to very much. With your information and explanations here, I'm thinking of giving it a go. Thank you for sharing your expertise. ☺
I started with a "test" save as was recommended then just exported my settings once I had everything the way I wanted it. It just takes some clicking around and looking. The Nraas forums are very helpful as well 😊
thanks for this, I've logged in about 500 hours into this game and have probably been playing it for 7ish years. I got into a scenario where I want one of my sims to be a vampire but not lose their siren/mermaid traits and stumbled upon all of these nraas mods. Didn't know where to start, but this video cleared things up for me. I'm gonna back up all my saves and try it out.
Looove these vidoes and thank you for helping people access these amazing mods! Nraas options changed my life- I love turning off autonomous actions I hate (snowball fights and playing computer games 24/7) and them only happening when I want them to. Literal game changer. Thanks!!

Very nice! I also use almost all of the Woohooer modules to simply expand the number of options for woohoo locations. This makes it a lot easier for my sims to have drunk mistakes with a sim and an oopsie pregnancy, or for my 100 baby challenge matriarchs to corner a sperm donor in a bathroom lol.

The first unlock teen actions under general (i think?) doesn’t unlock woohoo. It only unlocks teens to be able to do interactions where they drink, like order drink, beer pong etc.
Thank you so much for this refresher. I was using Cindy's settings from a really old video, and the story progression is really fast. Every time i start a new save, my sim can't find a partner because everyone in the world partners up with each other. Totally slipped my mind that the mod was fucking things up.
Great video, but the only thing you seem to forgot is to let people know to acquire the "Resources.cfg" file and to delete some cache files. It seems like mods won't work without those extra steps.

For anyone wondering about the version thingy: the version of the mod (whether it is 1.67 or 1.69) doesn’t matter UNLESS the mod is a core mod. Even then, it usually doesn’t matter except if the developer says so. I know for errortrap it DOES matter so get the right version for you, but awesomemod or simler90’s gameplay system it does not matter. The only thing is that if you have the wrong version for those mods that do not matter, it might have a warning message that you can ignore or the game might minimize, but just press the icon on the bar it minimzed to and it will start up anyway.
Thanks for the explanation! I use a lot of mods, but I'm still often confused about what all the settings do. Just the other week I found out that I accidentally had all my vampires' lifespan set to "immortal". No wonder my townies never died!
When I started with NRaas, I just added one mod at a time so I wouldn't get overwhelmed. Most people try Story Progression first, but I did returner and register because I'm a control freak haha
I don’t understand. I placed story progression in the mods/packages folder. But nothing pops up when I first boot the game at the main menu like yours does and there are no pop ups or anything in the game as if I didn’t install it at all. I think I heard the game had been recently updated so are mods just not working properly at the moment for everyone? I’m on ver 1.67.2 and I downloaded 1.67/69/70

TIL that you can put your default replacement skin in overrides! Is it safe to do so with an existing save? I'm loving the "Welcome to my desktop" intros, hah!
Yes, you can on an existing save... but I found you have to go into CAS and change something (like add an accessory then take it off later) for the mod to work - legit spent HOURS on this until i found a helpful tip in a video by pleasantsims.

Hello, I have a question about the way the non-active sims acts in the story progression mod... I know you said to look at this other person's video but it didn't answer my question so I ask here anyway, just in case. I took all story progression modules because I thought that would make them more active and do everything without me having to do anything, but it didn't do what I thought at all. Now they gain skills and get promoted and that's cool but, appart from that, they just don't stop their love affairs their entire life ! They're supposed to be able to do ANYTHING but their only focus is with love affairs ! They focus so much on that stuff that none of them gain any social group thing anymore and it's the same with occult sims, none of them are becoming one even though it is supposed to happen (they even stopped becoming mermaids while they still should !). They only care about getting in love and breaking up just as quickly. Oh, and they just don't stop buying houses. I find that extremely frustrating, especially since families who shouldn't break up end up doing so the moment I start a new game. For example the Goth family in Sunset valley, when I start a new game they will break up just one or two days after the start of the game ! That is NOT supposed to happen since they're supposed to be married and happy and I find that extremely annoying. Is there a way to change that ? Or at least make it so love affairs is not the ONLY damn thing on their mind ! And I haven't even talked about another thing that just frustrates me as well... When the rich family (I don't know its english name) dies, the boy now adult had already left the mansion and is now living in a poor little house when he's supposed to live in a palace. I mean, he WAS living in a palace in the sims 2 open for business expansion pack so the fact that he left luxury isn't realistic at all in my opinion. (same for the goth guy, he left its family mansion as well when we all know he shouldn't) And there's also the fact that, since I am french, the options in the NRAAS menu isn't exactly like yours. It is set up in alphabetical order and, well, almost all of it is translated in french for me so, for example, the "all stories" is right at the top for you but it's at the bottom for me since for me it says "toutes les histoires", so I'm not sure what most of the categories I have even does. Like the immigrant/emmigrant part for example, what even is that ? I don't think that was translated in my language and I don't understand what that is at all. The person in the video you linked only talked about what she changed and nothing more, so there's actually a lot of things she hasn't explained. I have a real trouble finding any explanation. Sorry if that was a lot to read... I am so confused, I don't know what to do with my modules, which ones I should keep and which ones I should remove... I remember hearing that other person say in her video that she don't see a lot of affairs happening and that she wanted more. I'm the opposite, I want less affairs. I want some of course but not every two damn seconds to the point of very solid families breaking up. I want to see Mortimer and Bella end up together without me having to do anything but that just never happen. If they even get to love each other at one point they just end up breaking up a few days later, even if they get married. So yeah, at that point the only thing I like about the Story Progression mod and modules is that they now gain skills and get promoted, but I actually hate everything else about it since they focus so much on love and breaking up that they literally don't do anything else (I guess they do make babies sometimes but it's so rare since they just can't stop breaking up), so is there a way to make it all back to normal without losing the skill and promotion stuff ?

Hiii, I want to ask, why do my master controllers in the advanced section only have 3 menus such as edit in CAS, Force Kill and Reset sims? Is it a different version or what?
I downloaded master controller, debug menu, master controller cheats, and i still dont have the household menu that i used to have when clicking on a house. I just want to open the house to watch what the ai are doing.
Your discord doesn't work for some reason. I know this video is a year old, but I need help with something in the Sim 3. My Sim just RUNS everywhere nonstop. He doesn't walk at all. I was told to download this Nraas thing, but I don't know what it is or how to use it. I have a feeling I'm gonna screw something up. I just need to know how to make him walk normally and run when I tell him to. Any help?
I have the whole of TS3 and Nraas, installed a few at a time to test for compatibility & such, the Cupcake was the one that failed for m (I have correct version).
I can’t play sims 3 anymore. Never had a problem with origin but they forced the EA app on me and now there always is an error and it can’t launch. I am happy for everyone who can still enjoy the game. I wonder if it’s worth it switching to Steam….
I have been playing sims 3 for over 10 years and I still don‘t have any mods installed. Don‘t know what it is but somehow my computer doesn‘t acknowledge it as a mod when I put it in the mods folder, no tutorial has ever helped me ugh.. maybe some day
What if I click on my folder and it’s a mods folder in that? I.e I open package folder and I see a mods folder in there. I don’t know which one to put in. I have it in my mods folder that comes with package and override in it already. Is that the right one?😊
Its like you red my mind because i was thinking about mods in my game. My Nrass is working but mod the sims mods, well, i wanted the lobotomy spa, malibu nightclub, and specially Spring harvest cookbook mod, and its not working. like, theres no more recipes or seeds or anything, and definitely no spa or a nightclub, i do have that CC loader thing installed, but maybe i need more expansion packs or something? i only have base game and high end design stuff. for now. oh and also that one with night traffic, i liked the idea of that, but i dont see anything different happens during the night. oh yes also the weather one, theres also nothing happening. what do you think

Just take it slow, it can get overwhelming if you install 50 mods then get errors haha

I also use the NRaas Traffic mod to change the Traffic Delta so that there are fewer taxis, especially for smaller towns and rural worlds

I think the nraas mods work the same on mac, you just install them differently ...Google is your friend
