3:58 Those are 100% sims 4 townies. I see you, original Travis, Summer and Liberty. They're the version they used in the adverts. So cool! It looks like a church relief
I had to pause a video to comment but I'm 100% sure Rita and Mark are in a so called '''lavender marriage''! They are clearly both homosexual but no way you could live freely in the 20ties, so for the sake of keeping up apperiances they got married and secretly they romance a partner of their gender ^^
thats what i thought when i heard their storyline (for those who are unaware of what lavender marriage is and couldnt tell from the comment, its when a gay man and a lesbian get married to keep up a heterosexual facade to avoid prosecution and such)
Roaring Heights is one of my most favorite store worlds! The only thing I despise about it is the ugly Library. Whoever built that thing really hated the job 😅
I never comment, but here goes! I love ur vids! Was pregnant last year and was home a lot due to complications, and used so much time binging ur vids. Now I’m trying to catch up again after a 2 months break from UA-cam. My daughter loves it too, I think she got used to your voice when she was still “inside” Keep up the great work, thanks for keeping me sane during pregnancy and postpartum Ryan!🫶🏼
This is tied with Midnight Hollow for my favorite world of all time. They both have generally great builds and strong, fun concepts. The downside to Roaring Heights is that it's kind of hard to play there for more than a generation before the very specific setting starts feeling a bit weird.
I think you also need the “Above Reproach” lifetime award to get away with cheating, and even then you can still get accused of cheating if you aren’t careful. One of my YA sims was getting away with sleeping with half the girls at University and none of them got jealous for the longest time with both rewards. He got to the Don Juan (or Casanova? Whichever one is for more sims) reputation for a while until he kissed one of the girls in front of another, and made all his lovers hate him 😭
I love Roaring Heights! I recreated it in the Sims 2 bc its glitchy in Sims 3 lmao The library is also so…interesting, and many lots are glitched to hell. But I love that I got it working bc you can download mods in TS3 to remove cell phones and other mods that will immerse you more in a 1920s-1950s type atmosphere. The city gives super downtown Miami in the 80s kinda tho…besides the flappers and newsboy caps.
I've been playing in this world. The library is horrendous! I sent my sim there to study and she was the only one there. I was like she was in an haunted, abandoned mental hospital or something. I remodeled it, shrinking the parking garage and adding a pet shop and jewelry store using savvy seller items and the glassmaking station on the ground level, put in a PRETTY library on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and put cones and caution signs in front of the stairs going to the higher levels. (The sims can still go up the stairs if they really want to.) On the top floor, I put a homeless encampment. Once I remodeled the lot, a lot of sims started showing up. The same happened with the downtown gym which was almost as depressing as the library and no sims on the lot other than my own. After remodeling, the sims started showing up.
@@chanterellecryptid I don't know, it's like they made it ugly and derelict on purpose, like the town is having financial issues or place education and "book learnin'" as a low priority.
Perfect timing! a few days ago I noticed that Roaring Heights was the only sims3 world I didn’t own, so I decided to install It and give it a try soon, thanks for this video!
Just in case anyone watching wants to use this world? Those weird top halves of the buildings can be fixed, I believe! I saw a guide at one point where they explained to basically use lot edit cheats (you may also be able to do it through Edit Town,) to just pick up and place the top back down, and then it *should* disappear like it’s supposed to when you zoom in! It *may* be just that simple, (though I can’t remember if there were any other tricks to it.)
I never was able to get Roaring Heights when I was a child, but I always wanted it. It's right up my alley with the 1920s style, and the special lot is so cool - makes me think of the Sims 1 Makin' Magic and Vacation! So thanks for playing it haha. Also, I'm pretty sure the couple you're playing with are meant to be in a lavender marriage
Loved seeing this world, never knew about it! Would love to see you reacting to some of those Sims 3 "movies" people used to make on youtube back in the day - they were always so dramatic.
Ah yes, definitely didn't play using this world as a child without adult money but full unrestricted access to a computer at a time where the Sims 3 launcher couldn't tell the difference between store simpacks and cc simpacks that maybe seemed to have store content just by chance. Absolutely not.
Roaring Heights was one of my favorite worlds as a child! I got it for free when my mom bought one of the expansions packs. I love the aesthetic so much!
watching rita fumble virgina so bad on the first date actually genuinely brought back war flashbacks my most recent date with a girl. shoutout to the sims 3 for giving me loser bisexual representation i feel so seen 💛💛💛

Yes I personally love Bridgeport !! I always redo the world but this is my favorite because it’s city like Bridgeport but not and more colorful to give island vibes
Hey Ryan, i think you needed the 'Stone Heart' Lifetime Reward to make the sims not care if their partner was cheating instead of the 'No Jealousy' Lifetime Reward !!
Definetely the best world to play in. I'm currently playing a mob boss family who buy and own cocktail bars with money made from car theft. Really enjoyable
I played in Roaring Heights for a generation for my Town Jump challenge. My heir was a mean-spirited but good fairy who was in law enforcement and on the Elliot Nest task force that took down the crime bosses in town. The Boardwalk and other special community lots worked beautifully for ambiance and clandestine surveillance! The awful museum actually ended up being where they caught the criminals. I even built and underground task force complex complete with jail cells for photos of their capture. Fun world!!!
Oh, I'm a HUGE fan of Mark and Rita Davis-Welles (Mark is actually my nickname at work). They're adorable, but, their romance is kind of weird. They seem to be bissexual, but in fact, nobody is really set to be. You have to butter up their romantic partners to make them work. Michael always ignores Mark's kisses in my game and I usually break up with him so as to pursue others (like the gorgeous maid, Fred Young).

Here's an idea. Play Sunset Valley but years in the past like as the parents of goths, crumplebottoms, bachelors, landgraabs, etc. Remove all the present day sims who wouldnt be alive at the time and scale back the ages of those that would be living.
