I have wanted a bird my whole life which is between 10-25 years(I can’t put a specific age) and have been begging my parents for one. But at this moment at my life I am not at a good spot. Between school and mental health it would be extremely hard. I feel like I could manage. Incase I put up a good argument, I told my parents not to give in unless I find the perfect one for me. I’ve asked them for cockatiels, parakeets, green cheek conures, and even chickens. They wouldn’t let me even get chickens which really made me mad because they are outside birds and I can make money off their eggs. I have done so much research that it’s discouraging but I already have two rabbits and dog a cat and two geckos. I just really love birds, a lot. Once again if they give me one as a gift I think I’m ready but, I love watching your channel because it’s the closest I’m gonna get to having a bird. Keep up the good work.
I just bought a baby, it’s been heavily dealt with. It stayed on me, walked on me and my head and even cuddled with me and my GF. He was $320, I can’t wait until I pick him up in two weeks!
i have invested $700 and gotten my parents full permission, my neighbors have birds and i had to take care of them for 3 months thats gave me an idea on how much care they need. ive also written notes and used pictures as examples! :3
I want one so bad but I’m going to wait until my son graduates from high school and moves out. That way I can give my cockatiel 100% of my attention. I can’t wait. My sons only 12 but time moves fast. It will also give me more time for research. Thank you for the video. It is very helpful.
my conure just passed and my parakeet was unfortunately bonded to him, so now we’re getting a cockatiel so that she won’t be alone. i’ve done research and everything and i’m super excited to look st these birds
I got my cockatiel from a small pet store he wasn’t hand trained at all and was very scared and did bite but after a hours and hours weeks and months of bonding times he did let me pet him! No bird is untamable.
hello!! my tiel won’t let me pet him and i’ve had him for three years. He has been scared of everything since the day i got him and i thought it would get better over the years but it hasn’t. He doesn’t play with toys and is scared of all foods except for his seed. Anyone have any tips?
No, you need to be quiet For the first few days, speak quietly to the tiel, then let it out of the cage, and feed it a long treat, like asparagus! Watch it eat, then reduce the size of the veggie. When it eats from your hand, you’ve tamed it
Cockatiels can't just have seeds that's very unhealthy, try more veggies, pellets that aren't colored or fruit flavored and millet. Some birds are just nervous but 100% get him off a diet off only seeds
haha I'm almost 14, and as soon as I get to that age I'm getting a part-time job, so I can afford a bird as I have no other idea what I'm doing in life. I also asked my mum and she has had one before and she said i could maybe have one as long as I keep my room clean and take care of myself. I've wanted a cockatiel for 2 years! :))
I am so so happy you made another tiel tips and care video!!! Emma and Charli are the cutest birds in the whole world!! They inspired me to adopt a tiel. He is just two months old and I will be bringing him home in a few weeks!! Thank you Shelly!!! P.S. Your makeup looks flawless!!!
I have two cockatiels I raised from tiny babies. Let me just say this if you plan on getting one. They require a lot of time to spend with them. Especially if you don't have a companion with them. Their vet bills, toys, cage, and supplies are expensive. So set money aside as an emergency vet fund. They are messy and dusty birds. I found that a carpet under their cage helps. When I vacuum it makes it so much easier. Also invest In an air filter. To cycle the air of tiny feathers. They also sell bird diapers! So if you plan to have them around the house or on you, the diapers help! Less poop to clean. I place newspaper on the bottom of their cage to collect the waste, super easy to change. Change the paper daily along with their water and food. Every week I take their cage outside and wash it. It dries throughout the day and I bring it back once it is dried. Also, be careful with smells! They are super sensitive to smells. Good luck to all of the new owners 🥰!
So I’m getting a cockatiel bc my parakeet died after 3 years from having from a pet smart and but I have no questions u answered them perfectly so I think I’m ready and prepared
Your last cockatiels video is one of the first video I saw when I was thinking about getting two cockatiels, and from that moment your channel is one of my favorites
Awhh Thankyou so much !! I’m glad you stayed. 100% they’re not toys- the amount of tiktoks I’ve seen where kids are treating their birds like a toy is 🥴
I'm getting a cocktail in a few weeks and ive own cocktails before and your video is so true about cocktails and I like your videos and Yes you are right about cocktails care and they are very lovely birds but you have to take really good care of them and watch what they eat and cleaning their cage. Melanie
I paid 170$ for my hand tamed cockatiel, about 100$ for my cage that is the same as yours . Plus toys and food. They definitely aren’t cheap or easy . I hope people really listen to your advice ! (I live in Indiana US)
Within a week I'm going to get my own cute lutino cockatiel. Just to be sure I've done my research correctly, I've been checking out some videos, so that I know, I'm doing great. Now, I already have 2 budgies. These are what you consider aviary birds, because the guy I got them from was a competitive canary breeder and he just happend to have some aviary hobby budgies lay eggs. Birds are not a favour in my country. Few breeders far away from each other and even fewer vets. Besides, I got them because I really needed company when starting at uni, and I got 2 of them to support each other while I was busy with other things. They are half tamed now after almost 2 years, like they can step up and chill there for a while but that's it, and I think that's all it's going to be. That being said they're my lovely familiy atm, and up till now I've only failed with lighting some candles :( P.S they LOVE the leaves from dandelions. P.P.S I got a vet nearby. That was one of the smart things I did when I got them.
The one about the parents not agreeing- I really wanted a mouse as a kid and I probably would have treated it as a toy, so thankful I’m getting a bird when they know I’m responsible enough to own my own pet.
I recommend cord protectors. I'm always careful around my girl but accidents do happen. I forgot my phone charging on the floor when I walked to the kitchen. By the time I got back it was nearly in half. She was completely fine but it made me pay more attention to stuff like that. (1st time tiel owner)

I keep my lovebird in my room and he yells at me every morning for food it isn't that bad to me now (because I'm used to it) but of course it really just depends on your bird.
Would you recommend a budgie or a cockatiel for me. I go to school 9am-3:15pm. I have a ceiling fan but I hardly turn it on. I can get a proper flight cage and done my part in research. And I’ll have her/him in my room. Do I need a air purifier in my room or not recommended, also where would I get a bird? Please answer these question and give me any more info I need :) thank you very much. PS I have carpet...... P.P.S I have a family of 5. ( I would most likely get it/them on the 6 weeks holidays)
I'm 13, I got a cockatiel at 10 and she was the SWEETEST thing. she was about $200 and the stuff for her was about $600 but one week we went on a trip, my grandma was watching her over the trip and she opened the door not realizing my bird was out of her cage :(
i just got a cockatiel. i named her ''birdy'' bcs when we got her and got in the car, a song from 'birdy' was playing on the radio! she's still a bit stressed but i'm sure she'll feel more comfy in a week or so :)

thank you so much for helping im going to get a cockatiel soon and this really helped me a lot i was a little bit nervous to get one since i didnt know anything about it and i didnt want to put it in danger but now i know what they can eat be around and hat they cants be around or eat anything like that but my mom does love plants so we are going to have to figure out what plants she will be able to have in her indoor garden i am so glad i found your video. it was very difficult for me to learn what cockatiels need since i am 10 years old. i still think i do need a little more research better safe than sorry for my soon to be feathery friend!
This vid actually is going to help bc I am getting a cockatiel in six months and I have to research a lot about them
Your voice✨
Your personality ❤️
Your face😍
So PERFECT 👌
I am getting a cocktail in November he or she is coming from a very far place and the video helped me a lot thank you.
Some tiels just wont be tamed. Thoo you still have to keep them out of the cage and give them the best life possible
No, you need to be quiet
For the first few days, speak quietly to the tiel, then let it out of the cage, and feed it a long treat, like asparagus!
TYSM!! this was very helpful I am getting a cockatiel in a few days so this was a HUUUGE way to get me prepared for my little munchkin Duckie

How's it going?
Love it 😍. Sorry for being super late. Love u & ur birds very much.👼🏻
Btw wishing u luck for ur study.🧐
I’m so happy my dad just brought two cockatiels home today and they’re so cute
Dropped what i was doing when I saw you posted.. and especially bird content !!!! Im here for it
Your last cockatiels video is one of the first video I saw when I was thinking about getting two cockatiels, and from that moment your channel is one of my favorites
Awhh Thankyou so much !! I’m glad you stayed. 100% they’re not toys- the amount of tiktoks I’ve seen where kids are treating their birds like a toy is 🥴
@@saeshell unfortunately I saw things for people of any kind of ages... I just wanna unsee
I'm getting a cocktail in a few weeks and ive own cocktails before and your video is so true about cocktails and I like your videos and Yes you are right about cocktails care and they are very lovely birds but you have to take really good care of them and watch what they eat and cleaning their cage. Melanie
exciting!! Best of luck🙂
me and my sister are saving up to get 2 cockatiels so this is super helpful to us. thank you so much for making these vids. PLS make more!!!
I paid 170$ for my hand tamed cockatiel, about 100$ for my cage that is the same as yours . Plus toys and food. They definitely aren’t cheap or easy . I hope people really listen to your advice ! (I live in Indiana US)
Where did you buy your cockatiel?
I’m not getting a cockatiel I’m getting a Parrotlet ! Your vids are still super helpful!
Congrats on 10k!!!
Tomorrow I will be getting picking and taking home a cockatiel I’m so excited

Shinee's back ok thxxx
@@jadepayne1326 of course, good luck with your bird!
I'm 13, I got a cockatiel at 10 and she was the SWEETEST thing. she was about $200 and the stuff for her was about $600 but one week we went on a trip, my grandma was watching her over the trip and she opened the door not realizing my bird was out of her cage :(
Omg!!! Yay, love the vid! Got my tiel yesterday can’t wait to make a video on it, posting it next sat.!!!!!
Congrats!!🙂
like u mentioned colorful seeds and pellets are fine. but depends, just check what product was used to dye it, some dyes might not be safe

Hey i got a massive cage, lots of toys and food for when i was looking after a baby bird, completely free. though, that little bird died from anxiety the next day.. i believe i cared for it alot and it loved to sit in my palm. anyways, i live with my parents and they are letting me get another bird for my birthday. (29th). They want me to get a cockatiel, lol. so, this info really helps.
OMG YAS IVE BEEN WAITING FOD THIS VIDEO
This is very relatable about cockatiels
I have a question. I’m getting a cocktail and I’m wondering how often I should take her to the vet for a check up?
Yearly.
What they cost $150 in Australia here a hand raised one costs $45 😂
I live in Indiana . I paid 170 for my hand tamed cockatiel. She’s such a sweet girl lol
they cost like 50 euro in ireland lol
What, in Ireland a hand raised cockatiel €200
They cost $30 or less here in the philippines
Ty’s Toast this video is Australian 😝 it does range from $45 to $170 or more depends where you get it from
Great video!! Lately, my cockatiel Daisy has been extremely noisy & I think it is because she isn't getting enough sleep! It could be hormones.. Ill watch your vid on it next! Unfortunately, she has had a couple night frights where she's split open her blood feathers. It looked like a murder scene & we were BOTH so scared 😂😂 Thankfully we haven't had one in a year :)
Were should I buy my bird from?
I am really loving your videos as I got three cockatiels yesterday. Names; Big Chungas, Doug, and Milo. :)
Doug only has one eye!

I’m getting my first Cockatiel tomorrow I’m so excited I’m very OCD on research so I know that’s not a problem but I figured it doesn’t hurt to just go over some stuff one more time before the big day🤗❤️ also I do the Facebook idea been doing that for my other birds and pets for years now😂😂😂
