ALSO; your dog/cat doesn't have to lick your bird for your bird to get sick!! if your bird touches the dog/cat's fur with their beak, it can get sick as dogs and cats lick their own fur. never ever let a dog or cat be around your birds, it only takes a split second for an accident to happen and your bird to be badly injured or killed- and your bird can also get sick from the bacteria on them

Also, if you must repaint your home's interior, use LOW VOC paints. Some brands of paint are lower in VOCs than others. Behr Paint interior paint is a good one.
appreciate the advice but with birds you must use a zero VOC paint which are v hard and expensive to find!! We however will not be painting anytime soon so nothing to worry about ☺️💖
I’m picking up my cocktail tomorrow and after watching your videos I’ve had to jump on the pots and pans thing. Another £150 later and I’m up to £700 before even getting the bird. For uk folk have a look at Salter Earth/sustainable pots and pans. Look at Tala for baking trays etc. i was up until 5am researching this now you don’t have to 😴
I have had such a bad week, I brought my cockatiel to the vet. She has 2 dislocated wings and tumors from trauma from a birth defect, turns out she is 4 years old not 1. I thought that was so crazy, but the craziest part is that she needs wing amputation. I have been crying so hard I cant even form a proper word. Im saying this again her condition is from a birth defect so it led to bone damage , no way in this world would I ever hurt my little bird! But thank you for posting this made me smile

I'm so sorry I feel you, my bird also lost ability to fly ( birth defects or mutations/ inbreeding) it occurred with first molt, he got bit depressed but with a lot of entertainment he seems alright, still stears at other birds flying while he stays on his perch, so if you've got one bird he'll be alright with no mates to compare himself to. You can also buy a bird diaper which is called a flight suit. It takes a bit of time for your bird to get used to it, they make the process VERY dramatic, but it works! Cleaning the diaper is a pain though. Some more tips are: *Wait for the poop to dry, then pick it off, then wash material *DONT RUB THE POOP IN!!! Dabbing it off works much better! *what your bird eats affects the poop!
My mail, Cocateil has turned himself into a female, and now she is sitting on one of those mesh balls thinking he’s going to hatch. How do I stop this without hurting her? I guess emotionally I’ve never had to deal with anything like this, but she’s getting mad at me every time I move her help.

i totally understand about the fan spining part i had a lutino caockatiel and happily one day took him out of his cage when he flew right into the fan i was crying sick (like for a whole month i was crying). so i definitely learned a lesson NEVER TAKE UR BIRD OUT WHEN U HAVE A FAN TURNED ON.
Hey, I have the same as cage as you for my 2 female cockatiels Charli and crystal. I go to school for seven hours a day so they spend all of that time in their cage until I get home from school. I was just wondering if that is not cruel and that they should not be in their cage for that long. I also have 2 cats so I keep my bedroom door shut all the time. I would love if you could give me any tips and the amount of hours your birds spend in their cage Thanks heaps

And i let him out of his cage and like always he flew around the room but i guess he panicked and didnt know where to land. He tried to land on the lamp (its a hanging lamp so it moves) and i gues he mislanded. He stepped on ny arm and ended up hanging upsidedown on my arm and he felt in my hand, neck broken. It was very traumatising, espacially the part that he was so happy to see me and that it was his end.
I know you said about the non stick coatings but the pans I bought were like 300 dollars and my parents have owned birds in the past and they were parakeets and lived 8+ years with non stick coatings and they didn’t even know so if I have them in a separate room with a window open to air out the room and a air purifier I feel like they would be perfectly fine please let me know if that is a rlly bad idea or if it is a okay idea

i have a quick lil question with the candles and such,, i melt those scented wax cubes and if i get a cockatiel should i stop melting them because of the scents?

Umm i wouldn't do that maybe you should try a natural cleaner like vinegar and warm water but im no expert but i always put my birds somewhere else when i clean
What about if you have perfume on and your bird is hanging with you? Should you put a different shirt on? Or will they be ok if it’s already applied to you?
i am lucky, one time our cat got a quick claw on our budgie, we didnt go to a avian vet because we didnt have one(at that time) our budgie is almost 1 :)

I use a cleaner that has no scent and it’s made with citrus and water it’s about 90 percent wager

Don’t use any cleaning products near your bird ! just warm water & vinegar !!
E-cloths with water work really well for cleaning windows, as does vinegar and newspaper.

How do you curl/ straighten your hair?
my hair is naturally wavy so that’s the ‘curling’ you see but I just straighten my hair with a straightener, nothing special!
