DAMN! - But this guy could sing! And play... and write... and compose... and arrange... and conduct... "...and his hare-brained antics - and his jumping in the air..." There was no one like him - none that could even come close - he was The GOAT!
Jethro Tull's acoustic gems are in a class all of their own and Ian Anderson is a treasure and one of the best songwriters in history, maybe the best ever.
JT is generally classified as Progressive Rock, sometimes as Prog Folk but rarely it is mentioned as a Brit Folk / Rock ( like Fairport Convention, Pentangle , Richard Thompson, Sandy Denny etc) . But JT has at least 3-4 dozen top acoustic songs in its catalog which are distinctly British in flavour . One can come across these acoustic ditties right from their second album Stand Up and right up to their last album release in 2023. The JT acoustic songs is very exhustive and the list includes : Bouree, look into the sun, fat man, reasons for waiting, Living in the past, A Christmas song, Life is a long song, mother goose, wondering aloud , inside, a time for everything, Sossity you are a woman, cheap day return, slip stream, really don’t mind, skating away, only solitaire , one white duck, salamander, requiem , summer day sands, from a dead beat, Most songs from the albums - Songs from the wood & Heavy horses, home, Dun Ringill, Bradford Bazar , slow marching band, pussy willow, farm on the freeway, said she is a dancer, Budapest, rocks on the road, sparrow on the school yard, sad city sisters
They'd have to be! Can you imagine learning that much JT music?? AIn't simple chords and riffs, to say the least! As much gratitude that goes to Mr. Anderson, huge kudos to all who have supported his music and the enthusiasm they played with. I don't like to echo the "used to me" sayers, but man, the 70's lineup with Evan, Barre, Hammond (Hammond - lol), and Barlow - what a show! So blessed to have seen them several times in the US, as well as several others later - wonderful!

Lost his voice to tobacco!
One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. In my opinion.

I don't think he even plays acoustic guitar anymore.

One of Ian's best acoustic songs that doesn't get mentioned nearly as often as it should.

By far one of the best musically and lyrically
My zero to your power of ten equals nothing at all. Wow. There’s only one who could come up with a line like that. Ian you are the greatest.
Love his acoustic guitar on this. Great vocal intonations, and the ever-present mystery of his lyrical style.
Yup
I grew up on Tull.Back in the day my hair was very long and I smoked much weed.In 1964 I was kicked out of the house for refusing to cut my hair
I believe this is one of the most important rock songs ever recorded
