Yup I go back and rewatch your videos often 😁 I'm in zone 5b and I'm about to use your idea and sow some flower seeds in pots and store in garage. It's worth a shot. Thanks for the idea.
Experimenting is always worth a shot. Sometimes we get very pleasant surprises. This year I am testing leaving dahlias in the ground over winter instead of digging them up.
Thanks for subbing! I am in Zone 8a but to give you a better perspective I have an entire video on zones and what they mean for all of us. ua-cam.com/video/aPBOapTBJIQ/v-deo.html
I don't, they die back in winter from freezing weather. What is coming up came back from seeds dropped into the window box. That is the key, leaving everything as it is and letting it do its thing. If there is any old foliage still attached, that would be brown and dead by now, it gets cut off at soil level. I do dig out small areas of the old soil and replace with new, not disturbing the seedlings coming up already.
No, I didn't. I don't think I have had any trouble with whitefly but I do have tons of ladybugs and other good bugs that eat a lot of bad bug larvae so maybe they have been kept in check that way.

When do you take out the old plants from the container? New to this concept. Thanks!
