Liz Landers is one of the best interviewers in the business right now. How she was able to talk to that Cowboys For Trump guy and remain respectful yet still push him hard enough to make him look absolutely silly is an underrated talent.
I'm sure they're good and everything but I'm pretty sure most of that effect is the result of editing. You can make anything look like anything with the right editing. The raw footage would be very very different.
@@dennettshane1929 none of this footage or the statements made appear to be edited in a manipulative way. Everyone was able to fully finish their thoughts, sentences and opinions - theres not much context surrounding the same that could’ve been edited out to change the general message.

I'm not saying it's entirely manipulative but the editing makes the footage persuasive in a way that the raw footage wouldn't. The raw footage perhaps doesn't make the interviewer appear to incisive and intelligent 100% of the time. I don't particularly have a problem with that here because I'm on Vice's side with this story. I just wish everyone understood that whether we agree with Vice or not we're essentially consuming propaganda.

I worked a poll for the first time this year out of curiosity. I honestly believe it is very hard to manipulate these things, as the process requires so much cross referencing and checks and balances. I do believe we ultimately have a system that the people do not trust. Let’s champion ranked choice voting, term limits, banning dark money..that is the America we all deserve!

The actually polls are difficult, but states that do all mail elections and allow ballot harvesting, boxes of ballots being “found”, and mail getting “los”, and dead people voting… those are the opportunities. There was extensive media on the Peoples Temple and Jim Jones sending multiple people using dead identities to vote but many online sources have been scrubbed of that information. Obvious reasons why - it harms the narrative.
Mail-in ballots and drop off ballots are not secure.

It’s interesting to see that when news organizations state the facts and they don’t live up with their viewers beliefs they’re considered fake news, far left, or far right.
We need to have open conversations based on facts and not gut feelings to get back to where we need to be.

Making serious allegations based on 'gut feelings' with no evidence; and admitting that they have no understanding for the basis of that belief is extremely dangerous. Information about certification of voting machines, methods verifying machine performance, and how audits of voting results are done is readily available. Ignorance and laziness can not be used as a basis for challenging election results that you don't like.
Unfortunately, arrogant, rich, influential narcissists are becoming more and more prevalent. Not just in America, but worldwide. Instead of facts, they have pride. In lieu of evidence, they have feelings. And to replace science and logic, they have conspiracies and misdirection.

The Electoral College was designed to prevent people like Donald Trump from ever becoming President - it was meant to be above politics and function as the conscience of the Republic as a check on "mob rule" but thanks to party politics (the Constitution does not mention political parties) and because states control the selection process it no longer functions as intended.

I really appreciate videos like this and the journalism that goes into them. I voted for Trump in 2020, and through the work done by Vice and others I have come to deeply regret voting for and ever supporting Trump. As well as thank you for challenging my views and getting me out of the constant feedback loop of lies.

For some people truth is based on facts. For others truth is based on beliefs and feelings. I don’t think that latter group wants to deal with facts that conflict with their beliefs. Many of them don’t want to make the effort to determine what the facts are in the first place.

My concern is, when both sides are already blaming, or expecting, the other side to “Steal the elections,” then no matter who wins, the basis is there for the looser to cry foul and we the citizens get hosed.

We are regressing badly, I never worried about my own countries safety, I always thought between all the parties
we are in safe hands. But when I look around the world over the last decade it's become frightening how stupid all
our representatives are. It's as though there's a grand plan to sink the whole world into some devastating nightmare.
Bc of social media over the yrs...a lot of people spend too much time on it, so the fear got bigger. The problem is, people have no control over their emotions anymore. So they start panicking. Fear. Insecurities. Paranoia. So they search for help. And the help is toxic...brainwashing is easier than ever. And gaslighting.
If you are African-American you know that this has been going on since we were brought to these shores. Countless African-Americans have been convicted of crimes, and even worse, lynched based on white peoples’ feeling that they were guilty. An interesting historical case where race and election denying intersect is the 1898 Wilmington Massacre when whites refused to accept the election of white and black Republicans to leadership of the city. Whites staged a coup de tat ala Jan 6. and were successful in ousting the duly elected officials and then began raping and pillaging the black community of Wilmington and the surrounding area. In the end, some 200 African-American were massacred. This behavior is deep in the blood of this country.
@@marie_84people are just afraid of the reality that there is no one coming to help. Politicians aren’t going to save us, law enforcement won’t save us. People have been conditioned to depend on the government for help. Only, the government isn’t concerned with helping us, they help themselves and serve themselves. Now our fate and the fate of our children rests on us, and us alone. People need to take individual responsibility to protect themselves because no one else is going to. People are dying and everyone looks to the government to stop it, when people could stop it by learning to defend themselves and their communities. The government has other agendas for disarming us. They’re not stupid enough to believe that laws stop criminals. They just need YOU to be stupid enough to believe that. And seeing as how they dictate what gets taught in public schools, many people ARE that stupid, unfortunately.

I wish more people understood how serious this is. Literally everything that shapes our lives is rooted in policy. This is a true battle and while I understand that exhaustion and apathy, we have to fight. Everyone laughed in 2016 at the idea of Trump becoming President.
