I have my iPhone 13 mini still going strong. Just need to replace the battery since it is now at 88% health but this is the best phone I have used in a long time. And on Amazon, at least Amazon Germany, as of September 19 2023 you can still get new 13 mini iPhones however they aren’t really much cheaper than the regular 13, maybe like 20-50€
I’m running an XR, but next year I was thinking of getting a 13 mini. Then I realised how little major updates it would get and I discarded the idea. I really wanted a mini ;-;
Here’s an idea for the SE: literally just make it the 13 Mini. Don’t even change anything, maybe give it new colors and a slightly better battery. Just sell the 13 Mini for $430 and call it the SE
The thing though… older people or just tech illiterate people like the home button. But Face ID is very intuitive, so… eh, the SE absolutely needs to be updated more. I get its place, but the pricing is defo a scam in the current year. A side note, I would LOVE a “Pro” phone in the “Mini” form factor.
Fun fact, my brother has the 2022 SE, and his battery health was at 78% after just a little over a year. (and it started expanding a month ago and the cheapest option for him was to replace the phone entirely lol) Such great value for that much, Apple. Very cool!.... What an Apple moment
If your iPhone battery health is 80% or less within a year, that is considered abnormal behaviour by apple, and you can get a free battery replacement. (In Europe at least)
Just make sure to charge your phone when it’s low on battery. And keep it out of the sunlight because that could speed up the battery degradation process.
They should have *at least* dropped the iPhone SE back down to $399 🤦♂️ I don’t think that the iPhone SE is a “bad phone” in any way but it is a pretty tough sell at that price 🤕
It should’ve been dropped down to $329 instead of $429. The only people who use the SE in these days are Senior Citizens, people who can’t afford the higher end phones, or people who buy them for their kids. And the only reason I can just as to why Apple still charges $429 is that in their minds it’s because it has the A15 chip in it.
Fully agree! In the very least, that'd be a reasonable price point. Unfortunately, Apple would rather line their pockets, so here we are with the SE at $429.
I'll never understand (I do 100%) lol but whyyy remove phones like the 13 mini and 12 from the apple websites for people looking for a more affordable yet brand new iPhone.. they'd still be getting potential new customers joining the apple ecosystem and wouldn't truly effect any of the other models sales in the lineup lol just apple being apple I suppose, the se3 is a great value on the used market coming in at $250 and under on eBay but the new SE will definitely be the way to go once it drops. RIP the iPhone 13 mini lol sad I never bought one brand new just to keep as a backup device 🤭
Apple shouldn't have discondinued the iphone 13 mini. Instead, they should have discontinued this se model, then rebrand the 13 mini as the new se.even if they sell the 13 mini for 499, people would still buy it over the the current se. Apple has become so greedy. Shortchanging their customers without them knowing it because of their marketing.
The only thing it really has going for it is the home button, some people just can’t move away from the older design. That’s the reason my friend bought it, he was upgrading from an SE 1st gen and really wanted a home button so it still seemed liked a huge upgrade.
Besides consumers, there are a lot of legacy corporate uses of these style iPhones with the home button. I am an RN, and every employee in my hospital is issued one of these (either SE 2020/2022 or iPhone 7/8) each day for clinical communications. There is a ton of equipment specifically made for the form factor like multi-docks and battery cases that the hospital buys. I think this is how Apple keeps the price where it is. They sell these things to a lot of businesses.
Once u stop using the home button you get over it. The vibration on the newer phones help you get over it. And then going back to the button will not feel as good
@@casswashwash1070 You may be right. But in my case I’ve tried the X and 12 for months. But none gave me the satisfaction of Touch ID and the home button. That’s why I got straight to the SE 3
Damn shame Apple didn't drop the price on the SE because I would have love to get that upgrading from the iPhone 8. I personally like the SE more than the flagships. Even if I were to afford a flagship iPhone, I honestly am more drawn to the SE -- I like the size, given my small hands. I like Touch ID more than face unlock. I'm trying to be more minimalist using my phone, and I'd be saving more money from buying accessories like a case for the SE.
I've heard this from people before, that honestly sucks and I'm surprised it doesn't get talked about more. Really awful Apple overcharges so much for their sole LCD iPhone, but hopefully they'll keep it in the line-up and reduce the price next year to something more reasonable.
Earlier this year I was contemplating a new phone but didn’t need the latest and greatest. I found a good deal on a 128GB 12 and opted for that over the SE. I’m glad I did because the 12 is better in every way except the chipset is one generation older than the SE. But even then, the A14 still powers through whatever I need to do on my phone.
Awesome video! I will definitely share this with a friend who still has the iPhone 8. I’m trying to get him to upgrade to the modern Face ID, but he won’t do it. I think since he is from the baby boomer generation, that is why he does not want to change.
I've given lots of advice to older people over the years and generally, the SE has been a solid recommendation as it's familiar to them and has a long life of support ahead of it. But at this point, I really can't recommend the SE to anyone when the 13 is so much better value... it's unfortunate. Hope you can convince your friend!
I think the 3rd gen Iphone SE would've been much better if it had more improvements over the Iphone SE 2nd gen, giving more users a genuine reason to upgrade. The only notable improvments were obviously the chipset, (which improved the camera software, not the hardware) The battery life, and having a 5G cellular connection as opposed to the 2nd gen's 4G LTE. Basically the same phone. (Not surprising, as that's just what apple does.) And the fact that it hasn't had even the SLIGHTEST price drop despite newer phones coming out is kind of insane. It's almost like apple wanted this phone to fail.
Out of all the Apple things so far, the discontinuation of the 13 Mini has me most distraught 😭 It was always nice to have the option to buy it officially new, and as an alternative to the usual large phones Though after you pointed out how it is too close to the SE price wise, I can see now why it had to go, not happy about it though 😢
I was actually glad they discontinued the 13 mini as it was an overrated phone and deservedly flopped people want big phones and rightly so cos bigger is better.
The SE is a great phone and clearly you have no clue what you are talking about. No everyone wants to carry a tablet on their pocket. Normal people just want a simple and nice phone, with a normal design that uses a home button. The fact that it is the same size my 6S is an extra plus, because that size is perfect.
My Iphone SE 2022 still has 99% battery health, works great. I have it in a premium leather case and it easily last me a day. I bought it used from someone who owned it for only 4 months at the time, paid $150 for it. Works great with my Ipad 9th gen and Apple watch Se. It's a great phone, best electronic purchase I have made in the last few years!
I like the SE because of its pocket friendly size and Touch ID. I have found that Touch ID is easy to use when making payments to different merchants and banking institutions. It’s relatively small size allows the phone to operated with one hand. I agree that the current price point should be lowered for you get.
Im actually really surprised that Apple has the SE that high, I have an SE got it for $200. Every retail I go into has had it listed for $199. I never knew it ever sold for anything close to $429
Thank you for saying this I love Apple and my SE but they need to get their act together for those of us who love the phone because it fits within our budget I would love to buy an updated version with Touch ID in the power button and at an affordable price but I am afraid it will never happen
An important and overlooked feature of the SE is that it's very cheap to repair. For instance: A new screen for an SE is $130. For an iPhone 13 this is $280.
@@Darkest_matter You're right. I should have said "much cheaper" instead of "very cheap". But £90 for a new screen on the XR? Converted to USD, that is roughly $110. Which is not the "official" pricing, that is $200. 🤔
150 Euro 💶 Sold it ...Could not stand it ...Had Redmi 12 5G 8/256GB Snapdragon 4 gen 2 and case protector charger 33W and android 13 out of box for just 186.50 Euro 😊
I got the SE 2022 through my carrier for $150 new. I love the phone a lot. I use my iPhones for video creation. I had the SE 2 and wanted a secondary camera but found that a camera for video with about the same or better quality would cost significantly more than even the SE straight from apple. So now I have the SE 3 as my main camera and the SE 2 as a secondary camera/go pro. I must say however I’m pretty shocked how much better the camera is on the SE 3 compared to the SE 2. It makes it hard to believe it’s the same sensor.
You guys had 2 years to buy the 13 Mini and didn’t. Why are there so many people coming out and saying how much they would’ve loved to buy one, how it’s the perfect phone for them, but apparently weren’t down to pay $100 more than it would’ve been listed at now that the 15 is out? $600 is too much for a phone that’s allegedly the exact phone you’ve been wishing Apple would make for years? Apple would’ve continued to sell it if it made sense and it obviously didn’t. If no one bought it when it was new and even less bought it when the price dropped $100, why would they expect more people to buy it now that it’s 2 generations old.
Apple don't actually change their prices until a new line of that particular product comes out. As in there hasn't been a new SE yet and the SE is in a different category than the other iPhones. The new SE will actually probably just replace the current one entirely in Apple immediately discontinue the iPhone 8 style one.
I have a 13 pro with a severely damaged back, but Walmart has the se 3 for 139 which isn’t bad I can’t afford $540 to get the back fixed on my 13 pro , getting the se from Walmart and keeping it active for 2 months to get it unlocked is fine by me for now
The thing most are missing about the SE is that it’s mainly a phone for older folks because a home button is easy to learn. They don’t need all the latest tech and are sometimes forced to upgrade from a flip phone since those are becoming obsolete.
The price point is definitely to high. I think it should be $250-$300 but the out dated design is a selling point for people who actually want it and prefer Touch ID. Heck, I have 5 iPhones ranging from the 2020 SE and older just because I like the design (8+ is my favorite). I just put a new battery in my 2020 SE last week so it will be good for quite some time and I put a battery in a 2016 SE last year that has basically been my iPod ever since. I’ve been carrying the 8+ for the last 2 weeks just for fun. I’m really enjoying it.
They don’t even have to lower the price, just discontinue the 64gb model and have the 128gb model as base that would improve the value proposition a bit
I just bought an SE. I wanted a smaller phone. It functions for absolute chit. It drops calls or makes calls at random. Kinda just works when it's in a good mood and doesn't five minutes later. You never know what it's going to do. Today it decided that the asterisk key will now forever function as the end call key. Worked fine yesterday. Now it's literally impossible to check my office voicemail. The thing is an unfortunate combination of stupid and evil. I hate it. I thought Apple was supposed to make quality stuff?
Yeah, when I had an iPhone SE 2020 the signal was absolute cack! And would drop calls often. Shame I liked the product red colour and compact size, plus the single camera I think that looks smart. I know have an iPhone 14 128GB. Much better for phone calls now, still miss the SE but…
I bought the iPhone SE 2020 when I was about to buy a second hand older iPhone. Back then it was an excellent deal to come into Apple. I was so sick of android poor quality and compatibility of the different apps. I also always wanted to have a good camera on my smartphone. But when they release the “new” iPhone SE in 2022 it has been a big disappointment has there was rumors that it would recycle the iPhone X components with a 5G chip…
6:27 I agree with this statement. Recently I switched to working at a cell phone store and a customer came in to buy a iPhone mostly because they lost theirs on an Uber and basically couldn't buy one since they're so pricey and possibly knowing that they might have used the ones with a notch an SE wouldn't be an option since they mostly accepted that they may not receive their old iPhone back and had to go thru a financing process just to get a iPhone 12 since that was the lowest end iPhone we had at the moment. The 3rd Gen SE just does not make sense but is also would if a 4th Gen one comes with the mini body but iPhone 14 or even just the iPhone 13 mini design but gets upgrades that make sense and not just say that it has the lightest end SoC on our current gen device. I clearly switched to iPhone because I wanted to try a Home button iPhone before going to a notch one and that's what the SE 4th Gen should be. They kept the Home button iPhone for this long, it should be time to finally let it go and make the SE line as just the mini but maybe also keep it but like mentioned in the video, with a lower price than the $429 it is now
The 2020 SE was a good deal... for 2020. Its refresh being a chip upgrade and 5G support and a slight price uptick was not the right call for 2022. In 2020, a time where companies were still fumbling with the transition to a bezeless design and the world was in a state of panic, it was nice to see an option that not only undercut the competition in price and performance, but also stuck to a tride and true design, even if it was 3 years outdated by this point. The playing field in 2022 and onwards is different. The new features are nothing more than the expectations that a new phone would have at the time, and not even all of the expectations of a phone were met. The 2022 SE was a bad deal from the start, and it's sad to see that the SE monocre has reached the level of negative press that it was originally meant to counteract.
I got my iPhone SE 2022 second hand in perfect conditions with box and everything for 250$, perfect value and what it should really cost (more or less) if Apple wasn't so greedy. I'm perfectly happy with it, I love the small, simple design and the touch ID. I'm not a photo/video taking guy, so I don't really care about those things much, camera is good enough for my little needs on that aspect. Performance is beautiful for casual gaming and I don't feel any sort of uncomfortable-ness for the small 4.7 inch display. However, for 429$ i would never buy it, so I guess iPhone SE is only a good deal if bought second hand in good conditions for under 300$, otherwise its better to go for the 11 or 13.
It depends on where you look. I just got one for 49 dollars brand new from Walmart (with activation which was another 30 bucks for a month of service). My plan is to pay for a couple months of service on Total, which should than allow the phone to be unlocked and than I can use it as a second phone on my Metro account. Making the grand total cost of the phone 110 for an unlocked iPhone SE.
Apple did me dirty! I have the SE3 and I was hoping to get the 13 mini for £599 when the 15 came out. I have a SE and felt it was time to upgrade. It is about £599 on Amazon and John Lewis. What Apple do? Drop the 13 mini and decide to sell the full size from £599! What's worse, if I buy it, it will be one day before the other sites drop the price of the mini to £499. I am torn...
Unfortunately the SE is the only choice for us 10% who can’t use OLED due to PWM. I’m worried at the speculations that the SE 4 will be OLED. I know it’s only 10% of us, but that’s MILLIONS of potential iPhone customers!
Bigger is not necessarily better for many. A substantial number of people want a small phone. Period. Full stop. Thats it. Features, brightness, blah blah they dont care as long as its small. Another portion want a home button. This hits both.
I purchased one for 200 on eBay about 6 months ago. I think it’s less now, but on a trade I’m getting 650 for it with a carrier deal. I can also say I like it much better than the iPhone 12 I had at work, that thing had a serious screen gap, felt like a POS compared to this se.
I’m one of the “dummies” who paid full price for an SE3 with 256 GB. I’m tempted to upgrade to a 15 now, but the SE has been absolutely flawless and has that big storage I need.
I got a 2020 iPhone SE back in October 2020 for $149 with ATT prepaid service (only required 1 month @ $50 to qualify for the price). Phone was a great value at that price point and I still use it today!
They really should've kept the 13 Mini, but price it at $499, then discontinue the SE. Or make the SE way cheaper, either $399 or $349 for those who really need a home button. If Apple can drop the M2 MBA by $100, they can do that on such a low demand device like the SE as well.
I have never paid more than $250 for a new phone SO it's always a new 6"+ Android and I use it until it dies. (I used a Razr3 flip phone for a LONG time, I still have it and it actually still works.) I do watch videos about iPhones to keep informed. Maybe one day I'll buy one. Good video.
Just picked up a new iPhone SE 2022 for $49 at Walmart with ST and a $35 monthly plan. Not all Walmarts participate, just the ones that have a 3rd party cell phone contractor at the store. You can unlock ST phones after 60 days, just did that with a $249 (now $199) ST iPhone 11 for my wife and put her CC sim in no problem to replace her iPhone 6SE+. It appears the iPhones automatically unlock after 60 days, though I did put an unanswered request in. It's an inexpensive way to get an iPhone. As far as the SE 2022 goes, it's a little small, but good screen and it's fast. Already upgraded to iOS 17. Got a $39 Moto Pure on CC and may replace it with the SE 2022 after 60 days. Hard to tell I like cheap phones (The SE 2022 is $429 on CC and the next cheapest iPhone 14 is $729).
A follow up. Bought the 13 and with trade in on my SE3 and some gift vouchers, I paid £180 for a phone that was £800 a couple of years ago. A point of note: If Apple are trying to be green, why don't they give people an incentive by returning the original box to them when trading your phone in? That would mean less packaging produced when selling in their refurbished site.
The original se and the 2020 se were great phones imo and gave me the form factor I wanted at the time. I never upgraded to the se 2022 as I did not see the point as it isn’t that much of an upgrade over the 2020. This year I will be upgrading to the 15 and I look forward to comparing them!
I bought an as new customer return iPhone SE 2020 a year ago for £229. It had a 100% battery when I bought it. It was half the price of a new iPhone SE 2022 and so given the fact that there is almost no 5G in my county for me it was a better buy. You can now buy a new iPhone SE 2020 for less than £200. The only downside is that like an iPhone 13 Mini, it does not have a whole day battery. I overcome this problem by carrying an iPhone 7 around me to listen to media on and save the battery in my iPhone SE 2020.
The 2020 SE is great, and possibly the best value iPhone imo from the used market- lots of power in a small, affordable package. Glad it's working for you! Battery life is its biggest downside for sure.
@@setoth1234 An 18% improvement to my iPhone wouldn't get me through the day. Given that I like small phones it is an annoying fact that the only way to get a 1.5 day battery life is to buy a big phone with an enormous battery.
In Australia, refurbished, you can get an iPhone 11 cheaper than you can get a 2022 SE. The iPhone 12 complete with MagSafe and 5G isn’t much more expensive either
In Norway the iPhone SE costs the equivalent of 600 USD for the 64GB model when purchased new. Instead of that an iPhone 13 Pro Max 256GB costs the same if it is purchased used. The price to get a brand new battery fitted to the phone from one of the biggest retailers is only 110$ so it is even worth buying used if the battery is worn out and just spend that extra 110$ to get a phone that is much better in every way except portability. The SE 2022 64GB model can of course be purchased as a used phone aswell at 300 - 400 $ but it is still poor value for the money.
You can currently get a certified Apple refurbished iPhone 12 128gb model from them for $489, which I would argue is a better value than the 2022 SE, even if the chipset is a step down. I’ve been perusing options since my 64gb iPhone XS is starting to show its age, & burn in is becoming a problem. It’s not worth it to get an OEM or even a good soft OLED replacement for the screen. I’m definitely not gonna risk getting it replaced with an LCD given the draw that would be needed to support the backlight, and it’s also not readily apparent that a decent & cheaper hard OLED would be worth it. I want to sell it, but I’m of good character & would feel obligated to disclose if it had an inferior hard OLED display, which would mean the cost of replacement + fetching lower value would eat into my margins significantly, potentially even more than if I were to just sell it as it is with the disclaimer that it has burn in & an appropriate discount to account for that. I’ll end this with a hot take on the next SE. I know it won’t be, but can we all just imagine how neat it would be if the next SE were to be an iPhone 11 + a current chipset + USB C?
It's always amusing how you iPhone 15 people with your condescending commentary completely miss the point in regard the iPhone SE- the damn size! There are plenty of us who can afford whatever phone we want but don't want a handbag in our pocket so your iPhone 13 comparisons completely miss the point.
I got a iPhone SE for my son for $180 at Walmart last year and Verizon gave me 425 for it towards a 15 pro max. It was a great deal. And he got my 13 pro max
5:00 the thing you're forgetting is that Apple wants you to think that way. They always want you to climb up the product line to the maximum you can afford. There's a whole MKBHD podcast about that topic :)
6:38 your entire point also applies to Right to Repair! ;) To not support R2R is to directly oppose a sustainable future. “Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle”.
$429 for an iPhone SE based on the XR hardware probably makes sense in 2024. Only changing the 128GB as a start of the storege and ading USB C beacause of the UE legislation. I think it could be a good deal.

Shitty ass home button phone 💀
Damn shame Apple didn't drop the price on the SE because I would have love to get that upgrading from the iPhone 8. I personally like the SE more than the flagships. Even if I were to afford a flagship iPhone, I honestly am more drawn to the SE -- I like the size, given my small hands. I like Touch ID more than face unlock. I'm trying to be more minimalist using my phone, and I'd be saving more money from buying accessories like a case for the SE.
I get cases on amazon.
If they lowered the price to around $250 it would sell like CRAZY
Minimalist using your phone? Why not but a dumb phone?
Just buy the 13 mini
@@LaloSalamancaGaming69 nope. I still rather have Touch ID
Some carriers are selling the SE for $150 which is an amazing deal considering you’re getting the processing power of the 14.
I got my mom the SE2 for about $88 used last month. I feel like I got a bargain in a way lol
Metro by T-Mobile here in Wisconsin is either offering it for FREE or 99 bucks. It's crazy
“Processing power” of the 13 not 14
@@MachoManDan 13 and 14 both have the same chipset.
@@BruhHowDidIGetHere that is a bargain. People are still buying 6s’s and 7’s for that price. You got a good deal.
The SE is SO important for us 10% that can’t use OLED due to PWM!
I’m gutted by all the rumours of the SE 4 possibly being OLED! GRRRRRR!!!!!
@@91Tech thank you! My friend who still has the iPhone 8 is an awesome guy.
Out of all the Apple things so far, the discontinuation of the 13 Mini has me most distraught 😭
It was always nice to have the option to buy it officially new, and as an alternative to the usual large phones
Though after you pointed out how it is too close to the SE price wise, I can see now why it had to go, not happy about it though 😢
same, I would've been happy to get it even if it was a bit "outdated" but still newly produced
I was actually glad they discontinued the 13 mini as it was an overrated phone and deservedly flopped people want big phones and rightly so cos bigger is better.
@@WiiManEliteWhat phone is 800 cause mini are not 800 dollars unless ppl are reselling for too much
Indeed - they could just give it USB-C, leave it in single colour and storage option and keep it as new SE. Or iPhone Air.
@@WiiManElite Bro is typing this in every comment thread about the mini that he can find despite him being so astronomically incorrect its funny
The SE is a great phone and clearly you have no clue what you are talking about. No everyone wants to carry a tablet on their pocket. Normal people just want a simple and nice phone, with a normal design that uses a home button. The fact that it is the same size my 6S is an extra plus, because that size is perfect.
Apple's pricing strategy be like: Let's charge an arm and a leg for the nostalgia of a home button
I never knew it ever sold for anything close to $429
I got mine used for 250 and still thought it was a bit much however, I’ve had zero issues with it. The A15 chip inside is more than powerful enough.
For instance:
A new screen for an SE is $130. For an iPhone 13 this is $280.
Bruh very cheap should mean $50 screen. My cousin's iPhone xr when it broke, the screen was £90.
@@Darkest_matter You're right. I should have said "much cheaper" instead of "very cheap".
But £90 for a new screen on the XR? Converted to USD, that is roughly $110.
Which is not the "official" pricing, that is $200. 🤔
bruh yall think we gonna pay the apple tax?@@Slurkz
150 Euro 💶 Sold it ...Could not stand it ...Had Redmi 12 5G 8/256GB Snapdragon 4 gen 2 and case protector charger 33W and android 13 out of box for just 186.50 Euro 😊
If only they kept the iPhone 13 mini and canned the SE.
Goes to show that sensors don’t matter much anymore, it’s all about the processing
I got my iPhone SE for $200 brand new on the service I’m using. Would never have paid full price
Excellent video! You should do more content like this. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing your frustration.
Also RIP iPhone mini again.
Its the modern day 5C in terms of what you get for the price
Pssst in the apple uk refurbished section the 12 mini is £379 for 64gb and the 128gb is £419 ❤
You guys had 2 years to buy the 13 Mini and didn’t.
I have a 13 pro with a severely damaged back, but Walmart has the se 3 for 139 which isn’t bad I can’t afford $540 to get the back fixed on my 13 pro , getting the se from Walmart and keeping it active for 2 months to get it unlocked is fine by me for now
If you go to the refurbished section on the apple website and look at the 13 mini and it’s cheaper like ???
The thing most are missing about the SE is that it’s mainly a phone for older folks because a home button is easy to learn. They don’t need all the latest tech and are sometimes forced to upgrade from a flip phone since those are becoming obsolete.
They should've just lowered the price to 300$ and kept the 13 mini at 500$ and then we'll all be happy
In Canada the SE I just bought my mother was $580 Cdn…the iPhone 14 is over $1000. So, here the SE seems like a heck of a deal
I totally agree!
I was hoping for Apple Keep the iPhone Mini but nope. You are right in what they are doing
The iPhone SE 2nd/3rd gen was only really a good deal when it first launched, I feel like after 2021 though it’s been a tough sell
Much better for phone calls now, still miss the SE but…
I’ve bought an iPhone XR with broken back glass for 30€ it’s a way better budget phone than the se (for the value)
Bought my iphone 12pro for €500 last year from ebay, could not imagine paying a little less and getting a SE
Shame they didn’t go that route. I agree the se 2020 was a great deal. But the se 3 is very disappointing!
They kept the Home button iPhone for this long, it should be time to finally let it go and make the SE line as just the mini but maybe also keep it but like mentioned in the video, with a lower price than the $429 it is now
The IPhone SE is essentially the IPhone 6 but with more up-to-date specs (aside from the places it matters most).
Ha! True😄 it really needed a battery upgrade!
The iPhone SE 3 for me looks like what carriers would giveaway for free for a low-tier mobile carrier plan.
but the thing is that it is nostalgic and it has a small screen i can use one hand for
Great vid 🎥, Josh. Hope that you & Cola are both really well x. 🇬🇧
Exactly, the se 3 was a very lazy upgrade and release, barely any upgrades, and the price increased. Like you said it is a bad deal from the start.
"just spend 40% more + tax and you get a better phone" Noooooo, you don't say. If only life were that simple and budgets didn't exist.
Only I love small phone as secondary device
I hope for another mini iphone
SE has only problem is battery
Exactly. IPS needs to continue. I hope apple don’t opt for a cheap OLED flickering screen for the SE4.
@@jamesgeppetto5316I’m hoping the rumours about it being an iPhone XR are true. Loved that phone, and I’d have it in white 😊
I'm the person that doesn't want to let go of the home button 🤣 I went iPhone 4s, iPhone 6, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone SE 2nd and now iPhone SE 3rd 😅
Damn. Why not just get an Android phone?
I got a 2020 iPhone SE back in October 2020 for $149 with ATT prepaid service (only required 1 month @ $50 to qualify for the price). Phone was a great value at that price point and I still use it today!
91Tech: The iPhone SE is overpriced!
Me: Water bottles are overpriced😂
Another best part about iPhone SE is a 720p IPS screen when it can shoot 4k videos 😂
(I used a Razr3 flip phone for a LONG time, I still have it and it actually still works.)
I do watch videos about iPhones to keep informed. Maybe one day I'll buy one. Good video.
I bought a Motorola Edge 2022 mid-range phone for $250 on Amazon a couple months ago for my dad. 8GB of ram with 256GB of internal storage.

269-299 MAX for 128 gig would be kind of budget option, for the hardware it containts probably 259 for 128gig and 299 for 256 gig
My opinion, I don’t see Apple dropping the price on the Se 3 until maybe Christmas if they do it then but I agree it’s over priced
Josh: every iPhone is a bit over priced
😂😂so true
I bought an as new customer return iPhone SE 2020 a year ago for £229. It had a 100% battery when I bought it. It was half the price of a new iPhone SE 2022 and so given the fact that there is almost no 5G in my county for me it was a better buy. You can now buy a new iPhone SE 2020 for less than £200. The only downside is that like an iPhone 13 Mini, it does not have a whole day battery. I overcome this problem by carrying an iPhone 7 around me to listen to media on and save the battery in my iPhone SE 2020.
i bought mine in flawless condition for £90
Gave it to my sister.
The 2020 SE is great, and possibly the best value iPhone imo from the used market- lots of power in a small, affordable package. Glad it's working for you! Battery life is its biggest downside for sure.
I get all-day batterylife from my 13 mini. It's still a larger battery than even the 2022 SE by about 18% if I remember the calculations.
@@setoth1234 An 18% improvement to my iPhone wouldn't get me through the day. Given that I like small phones it is an annoying fact that the only way to get a 1.5 day battery life is to buy a big phone with an enormous battery.
I like how the SE is thin like the 6s & curve look which is why I got it. And I got it for $350 refurnished. I'll see how it goes.
$849 for the iPhone 13 vs. $579 for the iPhone SE in Canada.
In Australia, refurbished, you can get an iPhone 11 cheaper than you can get a 2022 SE. The iPhone 12 complete with MagSafe and 5G isn’t much more expensive either
I would trade my iPhone 13 for an SE immediately. I love a device I can use the entire screen with one hand
These sell at Walmart for $99-$150 all the time. After 3 months on Straight Talk ($30/month) it’s SIM unlocked. Cheaper than $429 Apple charges
WOAH coming back with the production quality! Lookin good
I just want a good small iPhone with a home button
With an improved battery as well? Hell yeah!!
Thank you! I audibly laughed when they showed their line up during the presentation
It's always amusing how you iPhone 15 people with your condescending commentary completely miss the point in regard the iPhone SE- the damn size! There are plenty of us who can afford whatever phone we want but don't want a handbag in our pocket so your iPhone 13 comparisons completely miss the point.
Nice production level!
I bought a 13 mini from Amazon renewed in excellent condition, it came in excellent condition. 💯 battery health. Paid $510
500 bucks gets you a lightly used or nearly new 12 Pro if you know where to look.
I mean, iPhone 12 exists…
I’m holding on to my 13 mini for a good bit longer. It’s refreshingly compact
6:38 your entire point also applies to Right to Repair! ;) To not support R2R is to directly oppose a sustainable future.

The second quarter of 2024 is almost over, so the rumor of the new SE model is wrong.
iPhone SE was just for junior business users
Here in Europe it’s €529, which correlates to about 560 USD.
$429 for an iPhone SE based on the XR hardware probably makes sense in 2024. Only changing the 128GB as a start of the storege and ading USB C beacause of the UE legislation. I think it could be a good deal.
I'd rather have 13mini castrated from 5G and one of cameras but with USB-C.
@@piotrd.4850SE3 has 5G, so I doubt they would remove it from the SE4
