There are too many rude comments about walking. Some people can't even walk a half marathon. It's amazing you finished. It's pretty common to walk/run I hope you do more and share your story.
True! Thanks for sharing. This inspires me to give it a shot. My father always wanted to run a marathon and he passed away a few months ago. I'm not going in cold as I'm very unfit right now but my body remembers how to exercise, I'm hoping + I'll be doing some light training. I'm always this off and on "worker outer"...I did five miles a day for about 6 months in 2021 and then broke a toe and havent worked out since the end of last June. I'm only just getting back up to two miles a day, and have now found this video. Tks for posting the vlog Izzy and thanks for the encouraging comment, Quinita! I LOVE how candid she was when she said "I'm scared"...🤗
Ew, the rude comments are NOT it. People can get so sh*tty about seeing exercise done 'imperfectly' as if people go from couch potato to olympic athlete overnight with no progression. This was a huge achievement, serious props! I'm subscribing :)
I'm running a half marathon and even I know some people sign up & walk it either way. This video made me feel more confident in myself 🥴 idk why ppl shame others for walking like chill out you didn't pay my registration so stfu. 🥳 Congratulations for completing it! This still a big W 🎉
Thank you so much! I am proud of myself for trying my best despite all the circumstances surrounding the run. I’m glad my video could have a positive impact on people in whatever way that may be😊
I loved watching this! I'm a new runner and am currently doing a 5k plan, but I can't wait to get up to half marathons and marathon level. You killed it 💕
My first half marathon is in 2 weeks and I'm super grateful for this video! I'm afraid I won't fit into 3 hours time limit, but your words made me feel so much better. Thanks from upcoming Almaty half marathon!
Thank you so much for documenting this. ❤️ I just signed up for a half marathon that’s half a year away (thank goodness) and I have never even done a 10K. I am terrified of not finishing, but your video has given me sooo much inspiration. You have no idea😭Congrats!! 🎉
Aww, im so glad I could inspire you!! Recovery was hard but it was so worth finishing! Just push yourself as hard as you can and make sure you take care of yourself along the way and you will do great!! Best of luck!!
Congrats on finishing! I was actually at this race running the full marathon and it was SO HUMID that day, so big props to getting out there and getting that finish!!
I’m running nyc in a few weeks and I know several people ONLY walking!! That is just as impressive as running the full thing. Some people have physical disabilities or injuries or are simply not trained enough and that doesn’t make them any less of an athlete.
Congrats! I remember when I ran my first half marathon- I did it for a birthday present for myself junior year of high school and ran a 2:08- its a huge accomplishment running your first one, keep up the hard work!
Geesh! That’s San Antonio? They couldn’t have picked a more scenic route? The Alamo maybe? How were the inclines throughout race? Good job in finishing but training is vital. Please like and subscribe.
Buen trabajo. You did it. I have been running for over 14 years and what you did was amazing but risky. I love you heart and confidence to do something that we imagine impossible. You are the prove that everything is possible. Felicidades!
3:13 is not a bad time for someone who hasn't trained for a half marathon. This is an average person. Don't compare to athletes or fitness experts. More that 90% of the world population can't probably complete a half marathon. Congrats and big respect for the will power. When someone starts running for a big distance race and gets tired, the normal response is to quit the race. Few are the ones that walk - run the whole distanse and refuse to give up.
Don't listen to the negative comments I threw myself in same signed up to a 10k when was a smoker and heavy drinker had to walk alot of it did it 1hr 16mins,tonight I go to a 10k race and will be around 43mins now no longer smoke or drink do a half marathon at least once a week in training wouldn't have started if never signed up for that 1st charity 10k.
@@izzymarr I did it! At mile 2 I was already messed up but mind over matter… zero breaks all the way to 13.1 mi. It took me 2:09 with an avg pace of 9:51. Post race was hell day 1 haha but I’m pretty much fine now!
I am not currently. I had a baby 2 weeks ago and did not run during pregnancy. My plan is to start power walking to lose some weight and then take up running again when I’m close to my goal weight (to not kill my joints)
I do not recommend anyone to do this your begging for a injury or worse. Doing a half marathon let alone a marathon without a few months training is STUPID.
Thank you so much for your expert, and so eloquently stated, opinion. I would always urge people to be safe and use their own discretion when judging what they can and cannot do. I walked when I needed to and pushed when I could. Thanks for watching!

There are people that can't walk 13 miles?
@@crowbar_the_rogue there are people who can't walk at all 🙄
@@quinitawhitfield9541 Oh, right. That qualifies as an acceptable excuse.
