We recommend for newborns to do the froggy position seen at 1:33 then once they grow you can have their legs spread apart on each side of your chest. Let us know if you still have questions!
Even newborns should be in the M position with knees above bum, as per hip displasia guidelines. Please make this clear to all watching this video, as that feet tucked under the bum isn't good for hips or for positional talipes if present.
Jessica. Yes you are correct. The froggy position is in fact still the M position and recommended for newborns. The babies knees are still above their bum when done correctly.
A couple things to check for. Make sure the rings are on your dominate side and that the tails are coming down and not going up? Always bloom your fabric. Start with the rings pretty high so as you tighten they land on your collar bone. And don't feel afraid to readjust if you need seen at 2:00. If you've tried all those things and you're still having some difficulties let us know and we can see if we can further assist you!
If you see other videos, very normal for the rings to move downward. Need to support your baby’s weight, lift up a bit as you pull to tighten otherwise their weight drags the rings down and makes it hard for the fabric to move smoothly. If the rings are moving down already sometimes just got to scoot the fabric around your baby’s bottom to feed it toward the rings, so you can move the rings up a bit. Or just start over! Another tip is to make sure your baby is in a good mood when trying ring sling or any carrier for the first time, cranky fussy time is not the ideal t8me to try they may resist and cry a lot! Speaking from experience.

Why would the video start one step ahead, with the ring already threaded? So hard to follow. I will Need to find another vid that includes step one as someone who is completely new to these.
Thank you! Going on 4 weeks today and I wasn't sure how I would ever keep my sanity. Tried using it around week 1 with out looking up how to... Should have just looked at the directions first. :P thank you soooo much!
Thanks for the feedback! It's hard to tell by the video but once he is in the sling, his knees were above his hips and in more of a frog leg position instead of the position she tucked him in right before she put him in the sling. Sorry for any confusion!
@@TheBabyCubby How do I make sure the baby's legs will be in the correct "frog leg" position once he is in the sling? Will the baby adjust his legs automatically? Or do I need to position/adjust the legs for the baby?
Hey! Thanks for leaving us a comment! This is a great question and threading it is super easy! You will stick the fabric through the back of both rings and then thread it over the top ring and under the bottom ring. If you pause the video at 17 seconds, you will see exactly what I mean by threading over the top ring and under the bottom ring. Please let us know if you have any other questions or need a better explanation!
As a FTM this video was so straightforward and helpful, thank you!
Finally someone who walks through the process and explains how to use it very clearly. Thank you!
So glad you found it helpful!
This four year old vid is even helpful today thank you
So glad you found it helpful!
So thank for for this! I watched other videos and they gave me so much anxiety, this one seemed so straightforward and safe.
Yay! We are so glad!
Love the tip in the end for extra head support thanks!
We are glad it was helpful!
Makes no sense, why was it already set up? What do I pull to bloom? I've watched it like 10 times and still cant figure it out
I'm with you, she skipped everything we need to know about ACTUALLY GETTING STARTED
@@susangifford9583there will be another video on how to start it because there are many variations on how to put them in
The simplest way I can describe it is use the same method as securing a motorcycle helmet. I know that's useless if you've never put one on.
thank you. Of all the videos on how to, this one made it simple.
We are so glad it was helpful!
Thank you!!! Super helpful. Lots of love - first time mom in NYC
You're so welcome! That's so exciting that you're a first time mom. You got this!
how are the baby's legs positioned?

Won't the babies weight all be on his legs?
Thank you!!!!
I have a Myles too. 💕
When I pull to tighten my rings they move inward, below my chin. Why is this happening? I really want to take my baby outside safely!

Pull the fabric out, away from your body, instead of down to tighten.

Why not start with the sling open?
It would be difficult to hold the baby and thread the sling at the same time.

C'est très grave de faire ce genre de vidéo !!! Votre installation est très dangereuse et pas du tout physiologique !!!!
Okay but how the fuck do you thread it?????????, not helpful .
