I dont need to buy a meta quest 3, already got one to play Assassins Creed Nexus, Asgards Wrath 2, Medal of Honor A&B, all the Star Wars games, Half Life Alyx, Resident Evil 4, Ironman VR, Walking Dead Saints and Sinners series, Metro Awakening etc.
love it. Much greater gaming expierence than just playing on a tv and pressing buttons to remote control my avatar on that TV. Cant wait for Batman Arkham Shadow. Im optimistic that this will be the best arkham game thanks to utilizing this amazing technology.
Adding some more context: Im personally way past the phase where I got motion sickness in VR (that ususlly only happens the first few times playing games with free movement, its called „getting your Vr legs“ and I also have the luck to have a 3x3m dedicated free space in my home to play VR, which obviously makes this a way bettwr expierence than getting sick and playing on 1x1m of free space.
Great video! Not a fan of it only being on Meta Quest 3, but I like that we're seeing a decent bit of villains before the events of the Arkham Trilogy. I say if they wanted to make another installment into the series, have the game after Arkham Shadow go into The Long Halloween story. I feel that would be really good story that can get a video game adaptation.
An important detail to note though is that Warner Bros didn’t make this decision, the developers pitched the idea to them and they loved it and greenlit it. So I’m not exactly mad cause it’s not like suicide squad and how they thought off a whim that we wanted that shit 💀

they said they would show gameplay during gamescom in August. Its releasing in the fall, so they want the gameplay to be as close to launch as possible so it's fully developed.
I hear some people say they want a Batman beyond game but personally I want a Batman and Robin game more than anything. And an Arkham origins 2 for consoles would’ve been perfect. To top it all off the perfect storylines they could’ve took inspiration from is the long Halloween and the dark victory cause we know through Easter eggs throughout the Arkham games that Arkham Batman went through the long Halloween

I gotta give it to these guys they are more passionate about this than Rocksteady plus if they manage to make this good it might save the Arkham franchise and they might go on to make more games maybe featuring the bat family and making a BETTER Gotham Knights games

like they forget Batman arkham origins blackgate exists and then they retcon the assault on arkham movie and the comics its hard to say what ones are canon and what isnt and then they expect ssktjl to be canon after it was a slap in the face to fans that grew up with this franchise leaving us with tons of qrestions
like why is there a difference deadshot? (Since we met deadshot way back in origins and he was the same guy in city)

If they do dicide to make a new batman game that takes place after ssktjl they better bring Damien Wayne since i think he would try and avenge his father's death and use a lazarus pit to revive him or dick grayson takes up the mantel and Damien replaces tim as robin like in the grant Morrison comics

Well they didn’t come up with the idea, the developer team pitched the idea to Warner Bros and they liked it, most likely because of their work on Iron Man VR

We really need to see how this game plays. But I don’t think it’ll sell more VR2s. I mean Sony knows they need to sell this thing. Lol I can’t wait to see just how many people are really playing this game. It sucks that must can’t even play it. Let alone afford it. Or worth the effort to get one. They might oversell the hype, and it won’t be special for gameplay. That’s why we need to see gameplay. They need to prove this being VR is smart first.

Imagine the ending of Arkham Shadow being something about the Joker holding the Mayor hostage. Batman then stops Joker and rescues the Mayor. Batman then drives Joker to the Asylum and the game ends. And that's how the intro to Arkham Asylum picks up.
I think it takes place MUCH further back than that actually, considering Harley is still “Pre” Harley, you feel me?
That wouldn’t make sense. This game will probably take place closer to Origins than Asylum.

Arkham origins got a bit of a bad rap when first came out
Now people go back to it and a lot of people actually enjoy it more than it probably has the second best story in the entirety of the series
I personally think this is a great game now say what you want about VR say what you want. But I still think it would be it's going to be good anything beats suicide squad right now lol

Its is an actual batman game, just utilizing the latest technology. For many people, just watching Tv and pressing buttons to remote control him on that tv doesnt cut it anymore in 2024. technology evolved faaaar past that.
You not being able to play it doesnt change this being a true arkham game. Mario64 was also a true mario game despite being 3D and the previous games were 2D. Games and technology evolves.

It wouldn’t have been bad if they had this Arkham game on console/PC and at the same time made another version of it on VR but they didn’t. This is the first game since Origins that we get Roger Craig Smith as Batman and they expect me to buy VR? Nah, I'm good.
You sale numbers seem way to low. The predecessor, the quest 2, sold 2 million units until 2022. Probl closer to 30-40 million yet. Batman will be exclusive to the quest 3 though.
According to the Steam Hardware Survey, 40% of used Quest Headsets are Quest 3. So sales should be 10M + so far.
This is also backed by the referral program. If you own a quest 3 they will tell you the daily used referrald of the past days to buy a quest 3. yesterday those were 11k. This is a normal random day, no holiday season etc. But even just 11k/day would be 4M jsales per year just with referrals referrals + extra sales on holiday/special offers + people not using referrals.
They apparantly also releases cheaper quest 3s later this year to increase sales even more.

I do agree that it would be nice if they would have still supported the quest 2 though, even if that would limit the games scope a little bit. So many people bought that headset the past few years and its not even THAT old. On the other hand are people always complaining about ps4 versions of current games „holding back“ the ps5, so I guess you can’t please everybody

Well I guess they have data on how many people bought games like Assassins Creed Nexus on Quest 2 and how many on Quest 3 and maybe most people interested in AAA games ugraded already anyway idk.
At least batman arkham shadow will look better because of the quest 3 exclusivity. Quest 3 has more performance than a Ps4 which is pretty impressive considering its small form factor. Quest 2 was closer to a mobile phone in terms of performance so games graphics couldn’t compete with console games

Quest 3 is only eight months after its release. The previous generation of Meta's headset - Quest 2 - sold over 20 million units. And yes, the Quest 3 is more expensive than the Quest 2, but a cheaper version, Quest 3S, is coming soon and will sell as well - or better - than the Quest 2. This game was created by VR studio for VR fans. If it weren't for this, it would never have been created. So if it hurts someone that they won't be able to play, just buy the damn VR headset and stop complaining.
It's hard to make a VR game around a Franchise that only has ONE/FIVE other VR game lol

During this year, Quest gets games such as Assassin's Creed Nexus, Asgard's Wrath 2, Bulletstorm, Medieval Dynasty, Tropico, Smalland, Homeworld, MudRunner, Batman: Arkham Shadow, Hitman 3 VR Reloaded, Behemoth, Alien: Rogue Incursion, Metro: Awakening, Zombie Army, Metal: Hellsinger, Wanderer: Fragments of Fate or Attack on Titan: Unbreakable VR.

Meta Quest 2 has sold AMAZINGLY actually. It’s not a Small Player Base whatsoever.
It has sold more than ~25 Millions Units and outsold Both Newest Xbox Consoles. It even has sold more units in the Past Month than Xbox Series X & PS5 COMBINED. -It’s selling really well.
However, It’s unfortunately a bit like Switch where 80% of the Player base is a Younger audience who aren’t really going to Play these AAA Games and instead will Play Free-To-Play Games Like “Gorilla Tag”.
That’s unfortunately just the overall State of Gaming though nowadays…😕
Oh, and Meta’s new Headset that they’ll release in a Couple of Months will “only” cost about 200-300$ so unless you’re ultra Broke Most Arkham Fans should be able to Play it if they really want to.

You can’t complain about new Hardware getting Exclusives and then complain about the exclusivity because the Hardware didn’t sell yet. It’s new Hardware, The exact point of the Exclusivity is to sell that Hardware. And Meta Is releasing a new More Mainstream focused Headset in a couple of Months. It’s expected to sell 10 Million Units in its first year. Very good numbers

Here’s the thing and my point, they EASILY could’ve maximized sells by making this game for ALL consoles, including Meta Quest for VR Players. They won’t even get a fraction of the sales from previous Arkham games and that’s just logic and based off numbers.
@Salvage1009 Another arkham game wasn't even in the plans for WB. a vr studio owned by meta got the rights for the game from WB. The whole point of this game is to boot quest 3/3s sales. It has nothing to do with traditional consoles or selling the game by itself.
This metaquest 3 sounds like one of the shittiest consoles ever
