A BILLION DOLLAR GAME LMFAO... I get a lot of these executives are using insane illegal substances behind the scenes but geez man. It's so crazy to see these execs thinking they'll be raking in that kind of cash. Also Jake is totally right - the other hilarious thing here is Sefton admitting he hadn't played those other games he wanted to basically absorb the style of.

Arkham Nightwing game set in Bludhaven would go hard. It would also do a lot for his character after the way he got jobbed out for Harley
Bludhaven is also canonically smaller than Gotham is, they don't need to build a huge ass map and they could possibly introduce Deathstroke as a villain with a more engaging boss fight. Possibly introduce members of the titans or maybe even a sub-plot with red hood, kinda like a darker take on the Miles/Peter switch with most of the game being centered around Nightwing. (Sorry for the length but while i am on this tangent) maybe an origin story of Dick's Robin becoming Nightwing, possibly having a Superman cameo as the person who gave him the name
Honestly I still even blamed him and a lot of the higher up workers at rocksteady for suicide squad cause at the end of the day they also worked on the game. I thought the first hour of the game was great and I wanted to lie to myself and say that they only did that part 😂 but we all know that wasn’t the case
The fact that he was responsible for the delays and all these changes is insane. And the fact that because of him they wasted time on trying to implement vehicles as a traversal and he was the one or one of the ones to swap out the melee focused combat for just guns is just…wow. He really sunk the ship and then abandoned it to avoid taking accountability for his mistakes. I knew he was on some snake shit cause he didn’t bring back Paul Dini for Arkham Knight but this is something else.
I gotta be real, I kinda have more faith in the new rocksteady given they asked the questions we asked like why does boomerang not use boomerangs to fight, just guns. Couple that with the fact that their next game is gonna be a game going back to their Arkham routes, I’m a little hopeful. And not gonna lie idk how I feel about supporting Hill’s new studio. Everyone fucked up the story and share that responsibility but I don’t see Hill coming up with anything fun to play in the future since before suicide squad he gave us repetitive tank combat and lame bosses in Arkham Knight.

Honestly I think they should’ve scrapped the idea of the suicide squad and build their live service game like origins online. I think they could’ve done a lot with an online game based around that live service. Even though it wouldn’t quite be a typical Arkham game, I would’ve rather had that live service instead of SSSKTJ.
I think it was more the fault of WB making them make a game they didn't want to make. Certainly he should have been more involved. However his heart was not in the project, so he didn't care about it as much as he should. Bad boss, certainly. He should have not agreed to make the game in the first place, or stepped aside and let someone else take over. He finally did the right thing when he left the company. He should have done it sooner. There may have been contractual obligations that he was forced to living up to that have not come to light. There is plenty of blame to go around in this case...putting it all on Hill doesn't seem like the whole story to me. It seems like he was also forced to do things he didn't agree with in order to please the WB. I don't know about you, but I don't do my best creative work when I am doing something I loathe.

Whatever game they chose to do next it has to be single player and thank god the article clarifies at the end they higher ups in rocksteady are discussing ideas for that to go back to roots. Although another batman arkham game with an amazing writer like you all said is the safest option, another safe one they could is do a TMNT game, also with an amazing writer, like it was rumored after akrham city back in 2012 or 2013, and they can use the combat and stealth from arkham so they already got a good ass foundation

Not it is not Sefton Hill's fault, yes he was never as good of a story teller as Paul Dini but he still did incredibly well with Arkham Knight. He was forced as the director of Rocksteady to make and direct this game, which is why he and his assistant jumped ship, because they knew the game is absolute slop dumpster fire. Now Sefton definitely is at fault for not taking charge and leaving from the get go when WB forced him, or just not trying his absolute best with the game. But you gotta remember that literally 90 percent of the Rocksteady devs currently that made Suicide Squad literally were not there during arkham knight or any of the past Arkham games. So Suicide Squad is not mostly his fault, not even in the slightest. The way people just now turned on Sefton just because an Article from some guy with a good track record told them so, Is really telling that people don't actually want to objectively blame the perpetrators of this absolute CRIME and blaze of a game.
I honestly agree with many points but the avengers game def had a good story it just lacked anything after you completed the DLCs to keep coming back & the mission structure

One thing that this entire thing revealed was how wrong most of the gaming community was about this game. Sefton Hill leaving turned into people saying “THE ENTIRE OG TEAM IS GONE AND MADE A NEW STUDIO”.
Good on Slcmof for calling this out. Hill was there for the entire development except for a little bit at the end. Slcmof deserves more credit. People memed on him for the Arkham rumours he was reporting on since the game was never revealed. Turns out he was right about everything.

Again there was no superman game. To be fair i think the reason there use Metropolis. Metropolis being the setting is likely out of coincidence in that Rocksteady used up Gotham City in their previous games, and wanting a new location.
No actually i don’t hate Metropolis in this game. I understand Gotham a bit overuse so why not Metropolis. So i don’t mind it.

Yep 50% of this game is his, ok thing live-service, black deadshoot is wb and thing codox is sweet baby. To quteo on tv tropes Most people seem to think that the the badly received story-line moments, such as the universally panned death scenes of the brainwashed Justice League, and Deadshot getting a Race Lift, happened because Rocksteady had narrative consultancy agency Sweet Baby Inc write the story instead of them. Actually, Sweet Baby Inc joined development of the game after the story was written to make in-game ads, audio logs, and NPC barks,, so things like Boomerang trying to piss on Flash's corpse and Harley unceremoniously shooting Batman were conceived by Rocksteady itself and did not happen because of outsourcing. The only things Sweet Baby might be able to be blamed for is the controversial backstory moment where Superman convinced the rest of the League to try to negotiate with Brainiac since that is told in audio logs, and an extremely out-of-character archive log in which Lex Luthor (a narcissistic capitalist human supremacist) gushes over Wonder Woman and describes the Amazons as the perfect society, but whatever happens in the cut-scenes in the game isn't by them.
I know in fact the whole main Idea is Sefton Hill. No way he could not be one who did do it. It was his Idea to about suicide squad kill the justice league concept. That is all Hill fault. And again what i heard there was Warner Bros. Games Montréal suicide squad game teaser, what i heard. It would be like James gunn version but more serious. Or think i don’t remember is was third or frist person shooter. Like gear of wars or call of duty games with suicide squad paint on it. If the executives are telling him that this is the way they want to go it doesn't leave him much room to decide how to make a game. Suicide squad killed the Justice League was destined to be a piece of poop. Nobody wanted that type of game....No one was expecting that type of game. All he had to do was make another third person RPG game. They could have did a green arrow or a Superman game which most people have beent wanting.....but The executives have to okay that and considering that Harry Potter game did great the year before why would you decide to go this route of the suicide squad game It's just dumb moves all around
An article came out a week ago a journalist interviewed 20 developers on what went wrong and while sefton hill isn’t the full blame he was the one that brought this up the idea of all of the characters using guns even boomerang and king shark he even brought up all the characters having vehicles but that was dropped he was also involved in the story just like he was with Arkham knight

Seriously tho, he created a “toxic positivity” work place, where he wouldn’t check work for week-months, wouldn’t tell new hires what game they’re working on, shifted from hand combat to gun combat, and left the company last minute when the game was being showcased.

We don't know who's fault it really is. We're just hearing one side of a story. We really won't know until we see what Rocksteady does next and what Hundred Star Games does next. This just feels like a blame game since he's not employed at Rocksteady. There's Sefton's side of the story, there's Rocksteady's side of the story and somewhere between that is the truth. But Rocksteady employees leaving and joining Sefton does not bode well for the remaining Rocksteady company.
