I just went to check his eligibility and he had 123 AB and 129 PA in ‘23. Definitely an eligible rookie for 2024. He’d be an EASY top 15 choice for me. Definitely the most inexcusable omission on the list.
Austin Wells is better than his numbers suggested, he has good plate discipline that's going to result in more production as he gets more comfortable. Plus he had a bad first half, the overall slash line is misleading. In the 2nd half he was near the top among all MLB catchers.
Ik he was insanely valuable to his team, but he wasn't one of the best position players in the league. Skenes was one of the best pitchers in the league.
Yes I agree to, Paul Skenes came from somewhere all the fame before the mlb. While Jackson came from nowhere NO fame before the mlb, people just glaze him.
Wilyer Abreu (mispronounced Abreiu) became the first rookie born in Venezuela to win a Gold Glove Award. His 23rd spot on the list is very well deserved.
8:59 Glad to see that Gavin Stone was on here. He played a huge part in the Dodgers’ winning season. It’s tough that he fell to injury, but he is a World Champ as much as the rest of them. Hope he’s able to pitch well again when he comes back.
Don't totally understand how this list works is it predicting the future or something because guys like Johnkensy Noel were amazing in their little sample size but still weren't as effective as any of the pitcher before him who played most of the season.
Merrill 100% should of won ROK. If he had the contract like chourio before he played his first game then he would have crazy hype and wouldve won ROK over skenes. The impact that merrill had on the padres was insane
The Dodgers really are everyone's World Series. Mookie was right at Dodger's Fest and his quote still rings true. 13 of the 25 player's highlighted here had highlights shown against the Dodgers. The only reason there wasn't more is because the Dodgers had two players on this list. Sheesh, MLB.
First time in a while that the astros don't have a rookie in the top 10, let alone top 25. Ronel Blanco is kinda like a rookie though, as a starter anyway.
I think he was around league-average, although for a rookie that’s commendable. I wonder what roll he’ll have with LA next year, because I think he’s got potential.
Dude, where is Lawrence Butler? He's so much fun to watch. Come on now...not even top 25?

I think Merrill is the best Rookie.
Position player maybe, but overall it was Skenes, no doubt.
Sure is, got robbed for ROY😒

Where’s Bowden Francis, he got to the 9th inning with a no hitter twice, and ended the season with a 3.30 ERA over 103.2 IP
Merrill
As a cubs fan, how is SHOTA IMANAGA AHEAD OF JACKSON CHOIRIO
Finished 4th in Cy young Chourio finished 22nd in Mvp thats the only reason I can think of
because he dropped that fly ball in game 1 vs the mets that allowed the huge 5 run inning
@@lukewormholes5388 Now why does that sound familiar? (I’m a Yankees fan 😢)
He played better
@@hidaven2006 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm surprised to see Luisangel Acuña as #20 on the list. He is oficially a rookie player in 2025. At the end of the season he should be in the Top 3.
I think Cedane Rafaela should have been there
Fr
Fr also Jordan westburg
@ y
fitz at 25 is absolute robbery
So much good rookies

3:03 showing Ohtani strike out horribly 4 times is amazing 😂
Luis Hill actually was a rookie in 2022 but was hurt for 2 years
All of them will be interesting to watch the upcoming season.
Colt Keith ahead of Langford 🤪
Was going to say because their numbers aren’t even comparable
@ Langford was about 2x better
(🇧🇷) Baseball sport magnific👍.
Shota had great results. I'm looking forward to the next season😊
I'm just here for Wyatt Langford
Jeremiah estrada 100% deseves to be on here
ikr
Horwitz should be on here. Dude was a stud
You cant show Wyatt Langford highlights without watching him go down looking to Angel Hernandez.
I like these videos I wonder who’s gonna be on the 2025 rookie of the year
Chourio 🔛🔝🔥

Skenes literally had a higher value season
Mason Miller aint no rookie second year player, what the heck!?
He still had rookie status
Interesting

Lost me with chourio at 5
Jackson Merrill is the most underrated rookie
How he’s so far from underrated what cause Paul Skenes won cause he did something no one has ever done
@@Payythakidd No..? its because mlb never talks about him. Hes better than skenes and chourio
@@ツ緑 they have mentioned him a lot lil bro

Absolutely not lmao
Shota Imanaga is My Best🎉
Theres a reason why everyone is saying merrill
Jackson Holliday will be a HOF 😂
Who ?
Are we really going to sit here and say mason miller, Cade smith and Yamamoto were better than Langford? Like come on
Ceddane rafiala??

What happened with Tobias Myers’s first big league pitch?😂
Why Luisangle he play 15 games and was mid
Where’s Andy pages

Austin Wells at #21 is disrespectful.
As a Mets fan, Acuña was our real secret weapon this year the handful of times he got to play. Hoping he really has a chance to break out next season!
To the guy with the japanese name in the comments, jackson merrill will not go out with you
Lmao fr
Ceddanne Rafaela gets snubbed and I don’t like it
Merrill>Skenes
ik merrill is way better
langford 12? LOL
Tyler Fitzgerald is way to low
Merrill
