I think what you say is true. If Austin’s heart isn’t on what he’s doing because he wants to be home, then Home Free the band will suffer. That’s where you see the big “break-up” of bands. Another one of Home Free's hidden gems that is not reacted to much. This is such a fun positive song with a great message. We need to enjoy the simple things in life. These guys can always make you feel better when you need a lift.

Another great one not reacted to much is "Meet in the Middle". I loved the original. I love Home Free's version. And the video is awesome!
Part of the reason she is my favorite doing reactions, she doesn't do what everyone else is doing, she does her own thing.
It may not be one of the most popular ones but it's one of my favorites. Austin killed it on this song. I have said it many times.... He is the prettiest man I've ever seen. I am going to miss him so much, but your right, as much as we hate him going, if he stayed he wouldn't be happy and thats not good for anyone. I just pray that who ever they get to join next is someone likable, funny, talented and fits in as well as chance did.

I have never heard this sung by Travis Tritt, but i love HF's version, and Austin is perfect for the lead...his voice, his smile, and his eyes....makes my day! I will miss hearing him sing with HF!
Watch the video Austin and Amberly did last week where he explains why. I love how he wants to just be home and have a family and Christmas at home. I also love how he said he will still do things with the group, he just won't be on tour. So he's not completely out and I'm sure we will love Austin 2.0 as much as we loved the Chris upgrade to Chance. And of course, as always I love how you enjoy HF even when they are laid back doing sweet simple harmonies. Big hugs! Thank you for sharing.

I really like this cover and I agree that you don’t hear it very often! Their blend and simple way of putting this song together makes it better I think! Love the reaction as well, and I totally agree with what you said at the end! Austin leaving, he will definitely be missed but with every struggle that you have to work through there is always doors that open and both party’s are happier in the end. Great thought about Austin's state of mind about not being all there if he wants to pursue his heart.
Not sure why people say they will "miss" Austin as if he was going to stop singing! He is pumping out new songs at a fantastic rate and is very enthusiastic about all the possibilities for his career. He was always my favourite band member but his new stuff (check out I'll Go First, and She Loves Me) is so good that there's still so much to enjoy. He's also looking forward to collabs with Home Frey faves (Tim, Jeffrey East et al) as well a building new business relationships.
People who think that band members shouldn't think for themselves or live the life they choose are being not just selfish but completely unreasonable. I'd like to see how they would react if they were told that they couldn't have children or a home life! Austin gave his very best to the band for 12 years and we should be thankful. In fact HF in the present line up have stuck together much longer than most. Back in the 70s and 80s the personnel in so many bands chopped and changed with every tour. Perhaps a lot of fans aren't familiar with that pattern of change, precisely because HF have been able to keep members for so long.

This is such an underappreciated cover of theirs. I'm guilty of forgetting it myself, so I'm partly to blame for not suggesting it to reactors enough. Austin leaving is going to make him so much happier and I do believe they will get the right person to take his place....they can be trusted

Chris left and was replaced by Chance and they did really well and Chance has contributed a lot too so I’m hopeful about Austin leaving. I think they could even do alright without an Austin replacement for awhile. It will be different for sure but am ever hopeful. Love this song. Thanks for reacting to it as not many people do. Yes! I was a little sad at first, but I know that Austin will still collaborate with Home Free. All five have a strong brotherly bond that will continue even after Austin has left the group. Home Free will be fine and continue to entertain us and give us great music and videos.
This song here, at the time Home Free released it, I was going through some stuff. They were promoting their Cameo accounts so I requested one from Austin to sing this for me in a video. It was awesome!! Loved it!! It made my year!

Saw a lot of things here...your evident excitement at hearing one of your favorite songs covered by another group, and hoping they do it well. At the same time you have come to know that you can trust Home Free to be nothing less than amazing at all times. Clearly you approve of their version! I'm glad you talked about Austin's upcoming departure and the mixed emotions it is bringing. Not the first departure the group has experienced, as they lost a longtime member when the great Chris Rupp left after 16 years with HF. We got Adam Chance when the dust cleared and he's awesome. We all love Austin and will mourn his leaving while continuing to celebrate his enormous talent and wish him tremendous success.

I think the leaving of Chris Rupp was also hard to handle. Chance came in a brought a different energy. I trust the boys will select someone that will continue the growth. Chris has done well and I think Austin will grow in the areas he selects. We still miss Chris and will Miss Austin but we grew to love Chance and will welcome a new person with open minds.

Please please react to some travis tritt. Hes one of my top favorite country singers. His song set in stone came out a few years ago and i loved it. Travis been in country music for over 3 decades. Another good one that features travis tritt is called outlaws & outsiders by cory marks

We will always have Austin's 10 years with Home Free to listen to, the can't take that away from us no matter how the future turns out. It surely did not ruin Home Free when Chris Rupp left and Adam Chance replaced him it's just the matter of finding that right person and who knows it might not happen first try and then again someone amazing may turn up that will make them even greater than they are now. They are great but sure don't get the recognition they deserve in my opinion. They have a unique adaptability to sing just about anything and sound good. I was just thinking how good Mitch from Pentatonix would sound with Home Free with that wonderfully unique voice of his. Of course that will never happen but that was the first voice that came to mind that could work seamlessly with Home Free and fill in the missing high notes that Austin's departure will cause. We shall see in time what the new Home Free will sound like.

That fact that there are five terribly talented guys working in 'harmony' is what makes HF so great. They don't have to depend on one or two voices, which allows them to do more different types of songs than a group that doesn't have that luxury. I have faith that they will find a fantastic person to fill the space left by Austin. As someone pointed out, the only person in that group that ISN'T a 'replacement' is Adam - it's just that hoping lightening strikes twice is nerve-wracking. Chance being such a fantastic sub for Chris after 16 years was a bit of a miracle. Doing it again 8 years later....

Of course change is difficult, But lets remember that Chance was new to all of us when he replaced Chris, and look at him and the band now. I will recommend to you Red, as well as all the others, to watch the video of Chance's interview for the band. The video is titled BETWEEN TWO TIMs. If someone can stand up under that type of pressure they will absolutly fit in as a new member. Enjoy it!!
