My two best friends broke up with their girlfriends last one month ago. In my leisure time, I usually get along with suzy at a coffee bar to have fun there. I'm really sorry to hear about your brother news. Now I am coming down with headache due to learning new phrasal verbs. :D It's a blessing that when you are in trouble, you have someone to count on. Yesterday, I dropped in on my friend on the way to give him birthday presents. I always look up to my professor of medicine because his ways of thinking on giving proper treatments to his patients are quite amazing. It makes me happy when the ring that was given by my mom suddenly turns back in my bag. I'm sure that I'm going to call off the dinner this night. After we spend about 20 minutes on arguing a problem, I give in him to stop the conversation. My friend is very talkative and he never fails to fill me in via phone whenever he knows something new. I count on you to finish the work on Monday, please don't let me down. I'll drop in at your house later, to get that book you promise me. Very informally, in some parts of England (maybe other places, I don't know) "Fill me in" might get you some odd looks unless you said "Fill me in on what's been happening/what you've been doing...", as it can mean "to punch someone in the mouth" & that's not likely to be what you want! Context and tone are important, of course & in most situations it's absolutely clear what is meant by "I'll fill him in", as there's a huge difference between telling someone useful or interesting things & beating them. :-) The following lines are from Elvis Costello's song "Shipbuilding":- It's just a rumour that was spread around town Somebody said that someone got filled in For saying that people get killed in The result of this shipbuilding

What about "give up" i often see somewhere to express the lost battle that have to accept.
I guess the concept between these two are so similar but i wonder if it has something that can make them different.

Hi Emma, I know almost all the phrasal verb you teach, the one I've missed were "Come down with", and "Work out", as in exercise. Here are my sentences. Come over to my house, I live on 32nd street, I break up with my girl friend two years ago. Let's get together to go to the stadium, I heard about the new smart phone it just came out, I can wait to buy it, I came down with cold yestarday. I count on you to finish the work on Monday, please don't let me down. I'll drop in at your house later, to get that book you promise me. I look up at my boss.I was so angry when I could not find eye glasses, and then they turned up to be in the car, My boss called off the meeting when he realized no one was coming, I was trying to make Monica give up smoking, but I gave in, when I realized she'll never quit. I was not present at school yesterday, could you fill me in on what the teacher said. I hold back attending the lesson, because my girl friend was sick. I drop in my friend house, to drop off the book, I've borrowed. I work out on the papers for my exams. I work out all night a way to get rid of that old rocking chair, but at last I gave up.

Very informally, in some parts of England (maybe other places, I don't know) "Fill me in" might get you some odd looks unless you said "Fill me in on what's been happening/what you've been doing...", as it can mean "to punch someone in the mouth" & that's not likely to be what you want! Context and tone are important, of course & in most situations it's absolutely clear what is meant by "I'll fill him in", as there's a huge difference between telling someone useful or interesting things & beating them. :-)
