I'm going to be ordering the 35L X 2 bags for my 2023 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 ES. I've been researching bags for months and settled on these. I ended up buying the Outback Mototek racks for my bike. They were easy to install and with with these soft panniers. Great vid BTW.
Ha ha ha! An interesting life is full of mistakes! I saw the mistake in your video before you mentioned it! Great panniers! Used them on my bike for over 4 years! Great piece of kit!
You are absolutely right. Putting on the molly bags or aux pox on the R80 was a pain in the butt. And if you use blue loctite on their screws, …….it took me 3 hours and much cursing to get off. Never again
I just used the bracket I had to buy in order to fit the GSA on the exhaust side. No they do not look the same from the rear, but I am the guy that cares more about function over looks.
Pat, are you still liking the Mosko bags? Any nit pics or annoyances? I’m looking to splurge maybe this winter. And even after researching the competition I’m drawn to the Mosko bags. One question, the adaptor that mounts to the OEM pannier frame would stop me from making a quick change back over to my aluminum panniers should I be in the mood to do so. Have you ever wanted to switch back, if even for a short time? Is it a big deal to remove that plate that bolts to the bike?
As for switching out between hard and soft bags. No matter which side it is bolted to the bike. So it wouldn't be a fast switch. I sold my hard bags so no going back. I am still learning to use them. I have no regrets switching. They do not hold as much as the hard bags and I knew that going in. The best part is I can take the bag off and just carry it into the hotel or camp site with no need to unpack.
Nice bags. Have you checked out Bumot Xtremada soft panniers for OEM GSA racks? Awesome bags, tough, lockable, easy attach/detach system, and with more capacity than Moskos... (equal to BMW alu cases). I'd say they are slightly lighter than Moskos too 🤔
I had tossed it around for a long time between the that and the Lonerider bags, but decided I wanted to try the Moskos. Had my bike not come with the BMW hard bags I really wanted the Bumot Hard bags at first. Now that I have learned a bit about safety on these big ADV bikes I'll probably sell my hard bags. Will keep a hard top box most likely though.
@@PatsAdventuresTravelsthat's what I have now. Topbox for commuting and daily use. BUMOT as an addition for touring or off road trips. Sold my hard cases. Don't miss them.
@@NachoGS I've looked the BUMOT bags and I really like the ease of switching out hard / soft luggage so quickly. I'm a person likely to do so. I like the hard cases for our long road trips but I do also do off road riding and trips. As I've ready dented one of my hard cases (and seem some really bad damage done to others) I'm leaning towards the flexibility.
Great video. I just installed them on a 2015 BMW GSA. You are lucky with your tool box. I had to remove my GS Emotion toolbox as it interfered with the pucks! P.S. I took advantage of the sale as well!
Thank you for sharing. Did you go with two 30 liter bags? Or go with smaller bag on right to offset the exhaust? Could you share your thought process on deciding bag size? I just ordered two 30 liter side bags. Thank you.
I’ve been rewatching many of your videos and am curious, what was your thought process choosing between the bolt on 5-liter bags and the 4-liter molle bag? How do you utilize them on the road? I am unsure which I would choose. I’d appreciate your thoughts. Hope I’m not a pest. Thanks!
Nope you're not a pest. Honestly when I bought the 5 liter bag I thought I was buying a water bladder. Some how I mess it up. But it has been great for storing my plexus and cleaning rags. The 4 liter molleys. One holds first aid another tie downs and tire repair. The 3rd is sometimes the water bladder sometime misc stuff.
Yes on both questions. without the plate there is no way to attach the wedge that the bag slides on to. It does space it out a tiny bit more from the exhaust but not much.
Bumot told me their toolbox, that toolbox, won’t work with that Mosko luggage system. I have the BMW Atacama luggage which is just a rebranded Mosko set.
Saludo from Colombia, I see that you have the heavy duty cable lock. I have been thinking about buying that as I'll be traveling south America. Any thoughts on theese? Thanks
I like them. They are stiff to lock and unlock because I believe it just clamps down on the cable. It can help prevent theft but won't stop someone determined to get into the bags. A simple razor knife can get you into the bags. I used them while traveling, but for over night I take the bags off the bike and they go inside with me.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels Hi Pat, there is a video from Mosko where Pete uses a sharp knife to cut the panniers. Let me tell that you he hard a hard time trying to get into the contents of the panniers. So I might say that a simple knife cut won't do the job of getting your belongings.
@@westdene72 They are tuff for sure. But a razor knife can get into them. It's like the old expression. A lock only keeps an honest person honest. So far I haven't had any issues with people messing with mine. Locked or unlocked. But you never know.

I am a newbie too. I have yet to get to use these bags since it is full on winter here in Ohio. For sheer convenience hard bags are better in my opinion and a little more secure from theft. For me it was mostly about safety. Since I have dropped the bike a couple times I am less likely to get a leg injury from the soft bags over the hard bags was the deciding factor.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels Thanks for all of the help. I watched the video and also visited a couple of the manufacturer sites for the soft panniers as I am leaning that way.
