Last year I did mumbai to kargil army base in my 3L dicor safari VX. Solo. Did Kashmir to ajmer non stop(no over night stop ) 30.5 hrs during return.. This year to do something hatke...I took my 2005 santro xing mumbai to lahul,Koksar, kasol, jibhi again driving solo. Pics and a short of this year available on this platform and last years videos. While going I did mumbai jaipur 22hrs one go @90kmph. Was worried about the heat at Gujarat and rajasthan, while coming back I did ajmer mumbai 19hrs45 mins. The santro performed truly well being such a old car even in the lack of roads from AUT to Jibhi and steep inclines. I didnt even have to top off the coolant. Only maintenance was a car wash at manali. Max mileage I got in the santro was 22.3kmpl...min was 13.8 in the Himalayas at altitude. Santro is pure petrol. I used System G for better combustion and injector efficiency in the santro every 2000kms. Total trip was 4508kms in the santro. Safari from mumbai to swarghat in Hp I got between 16.9 to 16.4 constantly as it does 100kmph on fifth gear at ~1750 rpm being a long stroke engine. In the himalayas and between sarchu to Leh it dropped to 13.5kmpl on diesel. Safari I used system D every 2000km in the tank. Total trio here was close to 7000kms round . If I get the altroz diesel or the Iturbo...i think north east is next. As I last did it in 2016.
I drove this car from Nagpur to Aurangabad at a continuous 120 kmph and maxed it out at 140 kmph; it was petrol, so the mileage was low, but I was delighted with the car's stability. I really enjoyed it.
I also take the Altroz on Trip of 1300km + From Rajkot, Gujarat to Goa and the car Perform omg really Superb i got 21kmpl average on petrol at speed between 90 to 110 and I really enjoy the drive on Highway and Mountains, we Took 2 cars together on trip Altroz and New gen i20 but stability of altroz is 10 out of 10.
There was once a great 320nm diesel hatch/SUV/crossover (don't know where it really fits) 1.6L Fiat sourced engine in a Suzuki. SCross 1.6DDiS !! It used to pull 130+kmph under 2k rpm. What an engine.
I was in market around 2018, Thats when I wanted to test drive that 1.6 scross, But that engine was discontinued, Ended Up having Ecosport, Even thats a mini truck i say
Kudos to Tata for keeping the Altroz Diesel Alive. Recently withdrawn Hyundai i20 Diesel was a better highway car than the i20 Turbo. So sad that small town dealerships did not have the i20 Diesel for a test drive. Too bad even the Hyundai had to kill diesels on their small cars. BTW, I drive a diesel Jazz. I'm driving it for 6 long years. Handles like a dream, very practical 18 kmpl was the worst ever economy it had returned. If I keep up my 6 year old Jazz around 120. It returns 19-20 kmpl without being too cautious on the accelerator still. The premium hatchbacks are any day better than the sub 4 m so called SUV in terms of performance, handling, better fuel economy, cheaper to own and maintain and offers better cabin space hands down. This is not a subjective opinion. It's a FACT.
@@varun2250 Nexon is the most practical of the sub 4m segment. But, Altroz has better cabin space and similar boot space and costs cheaper than the Nexon. Even though the Engine specs are tuned down than the Nexon. The low slung chassis and lesser weight makes it handle better and accelerate faster even with slimmer tyres. It'll also return better fuel economy. Nexon gets brownie points only on ground clearance and easier ingress and egress in practicality.
@@SyedNizamudeen Fair enough. Although the chassis structural integrity of both is one of the best in their segments, Nexon still has a bigger upper hand in handling of rural roads and safety. Also the economy figures between Altroz and Nexon is not much. Nexon easily gives 20 - 21.5 on highway.

I absolutely Agree with you. Recently I have driven my Altroz (XZ NA 1.2 Petrol 2021) on Samruddhi Expressway from Shirdi to Jalna cruising around 100 to 110 KMPH and i was blown away in terms of Stability , Aerodynamics , Handling and driving experience on such modern Highways.
I have driven altroz petrol from Bangalore to Bhubaneswar around 1490kms with 4 passengers & a dog. Its a very good family car. Mileage we got is 18-20kmpl

The TATA Showrooms here in Thane didn't have diesel test drive cars of Altroz and Nexon and they didn't bother making an effort. They instead wanted me to test drive the petrol versions and make up my mind to buy the diesel version. I ended up buy a used Skoda Rapid TDi instead. Enjoying every km every day.
I drove Tata Nexon petrol from Shirdi to Nagpur at a continuous speed of 100-110 kmph on cruise control and surprisingly I got an average of 20.67 kmpl and this is not a first time I am getting this average on Samruddhi Mahamarg. BUT in city, I am not getting an average more than 12 kmpl
Torquey and powerful by paying additional compared to its petrol counterpart along with fuel efficient and lower price per litre compared to petrol. It's a win win situation.
I have tested Altroz NA Petrol tank to tank fuel efficiency on Samriddhi Mahamarg at 120 km/hr with 4 adults and 2 kids and boot filled completely with luggage. It gave fuel efficiency of 16.9 km/l petrol. On the meter it was showing 17.7km/l. AC was running the whole time on 3-4 fan speed during summer.

I owned altroz diesel 2021 XT I drove sonipat to ballabgarh by Western and then Delhi Mumbai express way it give me 19.8 average AVERGAE SPEED 103 KM/ HR for 168 km.
I own a altroz diesel 2022 model and the gears are just worse to shift and it feels totally different each time when I shift gears. About 70% times it used to stuck. It took service guys almost a month and finally changed my gearbox and the problem is not yet sought. Worst service experience btw.

For CNG breakeven point would be around 30k km for extra premium you pay, Diesel even more. So it will take 4-5 years to breakeven and then the savings would start. So I would say stick to the Petrol one.

Drove my Altroz (P) on samrudhi mahamarg in may this year. We felt Pune-Hyderabad Highway was much much smoother than samruddhi. The cement surface is too bumpy and noisy.
If you are constant on 80 kmph speed with AC always on and fully loaded car still you can get 22-24 kmpl mileage from Diesel Altroz, I know this bcz I own one (August 2020 Diesel Altroz), I've done multiple road trips and always got mileage between 22-24 kmpl when maintained 80-90 kmph speed
It is operational from Ghoti Village currently. Once completed, it will start from Amane Village near Kalyan/Bhiwandi. Work is also in progress for connectivity to Mumbai Nashik highway, which in itself is also being expanded.

Mileage should be tested by driving some good distance not just 100kms. There are cases where altroz diesel easily got 25+ km/Ltr mileage

Did you drive on cruise control? My diesel Altroz gives over 24 kmpl from Vapi to Bombay on NH48 with speeds set at 80.
Diesel will always give better mileage

My Nissan Terrano diesel also gives 20kmpl on Highway with 100-110 speed, diesel 1.5 engines are perfect balance of power and economy

Please check the petrol pump. Technically and by default GREEN nozzle is for petrol and BLUE is for diesel.

If you drive more conservatively at around 80kmph, the FE might go up.
If you are constant on 80 kmph speed with AC always on and fully loaded car still you can get 22-24 kmpl mileage from Diesel Altroz, I know this bcz I own one (August 2020 Diesel Altroz), I've done multiple road trips and always got mileage between 22-24 kmpl when maintained 80-90 kmph speed

I am assuming that when you say Mumbai to Nagpur you mean Ghoti village before Nashik (where the expressway will start) to Nagpur?
It is operational from Ghoti Village currently. Once completed, it will start from Amane Village near Kalyan/Bhiwandi. Work is also in progress for connectivity to Mumbai Nashik highway, which in itself is also being expanded.
@@talhaqazi5536 thanks for the update. The expansion of the Bombay Nashik highway has been happening at a slow pace since donkey's year's. Glad to know the Samruddhi road will come to Kalyan.
@saliloza5461 not only Samruddhi, but even the Delhi Mumbai Expressway's SPUR which will connect Vasai to JNPT will cross through Amane. I believe this SPUR will link both the Expressways.
