I’ve always had a love hate relationship with “raking”. It’s an ART of haying - and next to baling - it’s probably one of the most important jobs.
A good rake job makes it easier for the person who’s doing the baling--a whole lot easier & more fun. This RK 662 TRC by Massey Ferguson sure is making it easier on us here at Wieczorek Farms, LLC - - this was probably the best mixed grass hay we’ve had all Hay Season (due to the drought we’re going through)

What I’ve found that I like most about this rake:
☀️ it allows us to get into the fields 2 hours sooner!!
⬆️ windrows are TALL & Fluffy!!! Makes it easier for the baler to eat her up & get the job done faster, but more importantly, more efficiently.
🕛 I really expected a slower process since we are cutting our drive SPEED nearly in half - but since we’re getting into the fields sooner, I’m actually getting home before midnight this time around - -
💨 It’s also keeping the hay cleaner & not kicking up the dust: which is allowing the air to flow through the windrows.

The drone footage is great! But maybe you need to tighten up the windrow shields on the mower so the rake can get it all. 😮👍

How much longer to have with the Massey tractor? Very nice and fun to watch video. Kayla your son seems happy with the farming life and learning how to operate equipment. You have a new baler and accumulator coming? Then what is next after haying, summer at the beach:) ? Thank you for bringing us along. The funny this week. We have Millie for a few days. She has a traveling carrier (nylon zippered net doors). My daughter Katie came to pick Millie up. Katie the light carrier and was walking to our front door. The dog doesn't like the carrier to go out to the van without her in it. So she ran and jumped in. May God's blessings and protection be on all you.

It is amazing how much difference one extra person makes , just wondering how the corn is doing and if you've had any rain ? Keep the Dream Team Rollin and be safe out there .
The corns a hopeless mess … haven’t had any luck in getting the rain fronts that move through. More than likely will try to get some rain this week and put in forage sorghum in hopes to have something to feed the girls this winter.
Unfortunately they are getting more than we are 40 or 50 miles to the North. Rain has been really spotty last three months we actually have corn Tasling. But we started planting middle of April Maybe a week earlier. Or two
I would think that rotary rake would lose leaves on alfalfa if it were a little dry!

hello, I don't understand where you are, I believe in North America, but I don't understand why making parallelepiped bales, when almost everyone in Italy (including me, who makes small bales like you), makes round bales, or giants, you in those plains you would be much more comfortable with giant bales.

What a great video to watch and to see your son helping out is good in a year or two you can maybe relax a little bit he definitely looks really keen. Mind if I was a boy his age that would be a dream driving and learning all the machinery. Good for him take care until the next video bye
Another great vid! Do you lose very many leaves with this type of rake? I grew up with the 5 bar rakes.

I do love this tractor … so very much!!! I’ve become VERY spoiled to be honest … I’ve seen a HUGE improvement with rake. We found we still need to make some adjustments after baling some alfalfa yesterday. But at the end of day. Jason’s not swapped back to the wheel rake - and that’s saying something….

i love those windrows i used to use 3 point hitch ford rake made the best windrows i always wanted to get a pull type rake run it off hydr. mtr pull it behind ford rake double up on size never got around to it had a 570 nh baler it would bale hope you all get rain
