@@borangedunn the ac fanbase does this to every old game, they even hated 4 (the greatest game ever) back then and now they even love Unity and Syndicate....
It's actually impressive how bad this game is. So many bugs, glitches, bad or broken mechanics, performance issues, etc. It's actually quite a remarkable degree of incompetence
I still don’t know what magic code they glued together for unity when it came out everyone had broken games but mine played fine but when I reinstall years later it’s suddenly glitchy now
I worked as an Ubisoft QA employee at this title back in 2014. Trust me when I say that Unity was known even before launch to be a let-down due to the massive optimization issues. The devs themselves weren't optimistic with the title in the slightest, being also the first title to be released on the newer generation consoles of that time, XB1 and PS4. The game is still seen as the black sheep of the AC series at Ubisoft, regardless of whatever kids spew on Tik Tok.
@@borangedunn A bit on AC Syndicate and AC Rogue, but those were side projects, not my main one. Other than AC Unity, I worked on WD2 and R6 Siege. AC Rogue was seen as the last AC of the golden era(the era from AC1 all the way to AC4), while AC Syndicate was seen as the AC that made Unity playable: the navigation was way smoother, the FPS was drastically improved and the combat system was also a step in the right direction. Even the story was pretty nice, especially the Jack the Ripper DLC. Unfortunately, it was also the last AC game to bear the classic formula of an action stealth game.
It took me longer than I care to admit to figure out what WD2 is haha! I'm interested about the internal perception of Rogue. Was it treated like a full release or was it seen as sort of spin-off, side project sort of thing?
@@borangedunn AC Rogue was a full release, but development for it was planned on the basis of AC4, hence why intially was only scheduled for the old-gen consoles and PC wasn't included. Still, my colleagues were way more optimistic about this release than Unity's release. At least, they were going on an established formula. The phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" actually meant something that time.
The map itself is such a cluttered mess in Unity, it's a chore to find the main mission marker, by the time i get there i'm already bored out of my mind..
The developers totally fumbled away a wonderful opportunity at creating an epic setting for Unity. Even back in the 18th century, Paris had numerous distinct neighborhoods; each having their own feel. But by adding protests, riots, and other chaos to practically every square inch of the map, the game takes away much of the distinctive character of the different districts of Paris... making the city feel repetitive and monotonous. I know Revolutionary Paris was a time of great chaos and upheaval, but I'm also pretty sure that mobs didn't protest/riot 24 hours a day and 7 days a week at the exact same landmarks non-stop for 5 years straight.
Uh, that's actually pretty much how it was... You are right that protestors shouldn't be everywhere, and we should see a lot of them moving between the landmarks, but otherwise it's pretty damn accurate.
This game is the clearest example of UBISOFT's wasted ideas. It has everything a gamer wants from an Assassin's Creed game, from the setting, to the characters, to the stealth design concept, but it all stops at the idea. I really wanted to love this game, but I couldn't, and it hurts me the most that UBISOFT then decided to take the series in a different direction instead of trying to complete those unfinished ideas.
I bought into the recent hype this game got. People saying it was good because the bugs were patched or whatever. Absolutely fucking not. This games stealth sucks, enemies see you from 80 miles away and have eyes in the back of their heads. You get noticed once and they all immediately know your location. The combat is impossible because all they do is shoot you and kill you in 2 hits. The story is boring and uninteresting. What a letdown this game was. I honestly enjoyed Rogue more.
Parkour also sucks. One of the most fluid parkour in ac game they said. It feels like running in water. I thought it's gonna be great experience as well. In the end all it did was tire me. I'm exhausted. Definitely not underrated and definitely not one of the best ac's.
i have played the game recently and yes this system pretty suck - everything good otherwise only related to graphic and animation - nothing more nothing less. This game is very heavily animation based and others things always got involved with AI hand - no freedom at all. Peoples only praised the game for graphic and animation only but never notice the base system. Thats why after syndicate they have to (sadly) abandoned the animation system and replace with more controlled of freedom from Origin and later
You have to complete the cafe theatre missions to max out your cafe safe earnings. Fully upgraded gives you $10798 every 15 minutes and fills once it hits $43192. Adds up, afk too
How does bro have a couple hundred views with great videos. I know this has barely been out for a day but still man is vastly underated channel. Blame UA-cam algorithm for not enough attention.
exactly mate not fibbing i love these videos its like one of those video channels where u see one vid and its rlly good then just disappears into the yt aether for the next 2 months
We are aware of all the issues with Unity. The lack of polish, the abundance of bugs, etc. Just open any 2014 review. What fans recognize in this game is a concept and the hope that Ubisoft looks at it and tries to execute it again, giving it the time and dedication it deserves.
No people legit defend this game bud and the funny thing is these people where completely silent until years later you dont come late to the party after years of patches and updates and defend something that was basically unplayable I hate those types of fans because they come off as the most uneducated and stupid morons I have ever had a debate with on something 😂 no game should ever release in that state ever period 😂
No fan out there. It’s gonna say this game was perfect when it first launch and fact no fans gonna say this game is 100% good I even stated this game had some issues it still has issues but it was fun to play once you got around it, I had at least 30 friends on this game at once to where they all would ask me to hop on the game like every day so I’m not exactly sure where this guys coming from here because even to this day, I even get at least five friends who got this game recently just a replay it because it has multiplayer and they have fun so what does that really say about this guy’s opinion it doesn’t really matter does it it’s one dude and like half the people the comment section opinion doesn’t matter either again all that really matters is did you play? Did you have fun playing it? would you play it again?
Unity is a fun game, and if you have friends, that's even better. The problem is people are so hateful towards the newer games, they don't even see the glaring issues with Unity. Bloated world, ok side content, pointless collectibles, subpar combat that is a significant downgrade from the Colonial games, and parkour seemingly being the only thing that could even qualify to be praised as the best and even then, the parkour isn't perfect and doesn't work flawlessly. All the issues I just stated are attributed to the RPG games that quite honestly are great games and even great AC games. They might be different but AC had so many releases, people were getting tired of the same system over and over again. Talk about copy paste, RPG games are hated for it, older games did the same thing. The newer games have no soul some people say, yet the game, and all the work put into crafting the world clearly shows. The world's are empty some constantly argue, yet it seems they are only talking about walking in the forest and not even attempting to play the game. The simple fact is Unity, a mid game compared to its predecessors that failed on many fronts, is now praised as a masterpiece by many because the new games don't play the same. Each game has good and bad, but the unrealistic praise Unity gets shows.
Unity is far from perfect, but the series would have benefited from building on its systems and ideas rather than going the RPG direction they did. IMO the most immersive AC game since the first one.
Bro be brave, most Unity fans are gonna hate you for that. Also loved the video and understand on why you don't like it as much as the others. Even I, who once considered Unity a masterpiece and the best ac game of all time, is now feeling that it's a mixed bag, because I actually looked through the negatives of Unity and not just the positives, even now after the patch it is still a very poorly executed game, mainly in gameplay, Unity for me is a game that has great concept but just a terrible execution. Edit: I still do like some aspects of Unity, like it's a very unique game and their's no other game like it, also loved the story rather than the gameplay, in which is the opposite in most people's opinions on Unity.
I see this one as the one started to get far of what you expect of AC, I mean it looks great, but feels bad, and fans are dumb and love it for all the wrong reasons, realistic parkour is boring, the enemies are literally sponges of damage, god I hate the fact somehow the most justified hated game in series somehow turned to be the best, to point they want it back...
@@NecrophadezAt least the french accent feels great in the french audio version 😂 Nah I can say that the way they speak is very good in terms of words and expressions, I really enjoyed going around in the streets and listening. The rest of the game isn't fun.
To be fair you can literally collect like hundreds of thousand of currency from lockpicking chests and looting guards, also just repeat the painting heist a few times and your maxed out in a few hours maybe even a hour if your lucky.(yes I know unlocking master locksmith is tedious but trust me it’s a big help 👍)
Lockpicking chests is boring. It's boring to do, boring to collect, just boring. "also just repeat the painting heist a few times and your maxed out" No this is grinding. Sorry your solution is not a solution.
@@IskenderCaglarM41B441 bro you literally just do the heist it is the easiest thing ever, spawn in get over to the window search if it isn’t there restart and repeat. Takes like 3 minutes max for one run there’s nothing even slightly hard or grindy about it ?
@@ashkanfattahi1945 na bro just go around the right of the building and into the window over and over til you get and just restart til you get it it’s easy
It is all because some scripted moded parkour and stealth gamplay videos that people think this but in reality it takes forever to make a perfect run of parkour or stealth it is fixed with mods not with patches Also the romance story isn't good at all it should have focused more on the revelation and the assassin's order and the combat isn't actually bad it is good in my opinion fun and very challenging
I played this game recently and i agree its overrated. The armor system is complete trash and unless you go do the dlc or use exploits there is no way to get the good ones. The graphics dont look that good especially on console. The parkor is janky and you feel like you barely have control. I actually kinda prefer the parkor of the ezio games. The animations were good but thats about it. Arno was good for like the prologue but then lost all his personality after joining the assassins.
I don't hate the game, the patch only fixed so much and a lot of visual and performance glitches are still impossible to overlook, never mind the fact that it crashes occasionally There is a lot to like about it, but unfortunately the rushed development time still shows after fixes That being said it is most definitely not at the bottom of my list, I will replay this game over Revelations or the original any day of the week. I can't decide whether I like it better than syndicate or not, syndicate is more polished but I have my share of issues just with that game's overall design There aren't too many games in this franchise that I downright dislike, Revelations is really the only one I can think of unless we want to count liberation but I don't know that I can fairly stick a handheld in with the rest of them and try and compare the quality I mentioned the original not cuz I necessarily bad but it was a flawed gem to begin with, the open world is really empty with nothing to do, and the mission structure to get to assassinations begins to get really tedious by the end of the game, however the story kept me hooked in that one then ultimately led me to decide to give the sequel the shot which made me a huge fan of the franchise
The interesting thing with Syndicate is that I feel they improved the issues with the parkour but then gave us a grappling hook so we never needed to do any free running! To be fair to Unity I wouldn't say I dislike it, but out of the AC series this is my least favourite because of the issues I talk about. Other games certainly have their jank but not to this level. Revelations is an interesting one because apparently we were never supposed to get it, it was a cancelled Nintendo DS release that they repurposed into a full home-console game. And I think we're on the same page with the original. It feels like a prototype or proof of concept. In many ways it has my favourite combat system of the series, in that smaller weapons have smaller parry windows, so fighting with your hidden blade require extreme precision.
@@borangedunn syndicate both fixed the inconsistency of the parkour but also oversimplified it in my opinion. You literally can't even fall off of a ledge. And yeah as far as actually climbing anything, the grappling hook negates that. However for the structure of London it works well, I can't say it wasn't fun to use it or that it didn't make sense for assassins to have them. It's always a bit annoying however as it clearly takes inspiration from the Arkham grappling hook system but it's a bit jankier there too
Funny thing, III started the whistling. Liberation used the same exact whistles even though you play as a woman. IV still kept the same whistles. Then Freedom Cry, despite being just a few missions, finally added a few new whistles. Edit: Video just said whistling was added to remastered games. But I still think it's cool how DLC changed it.
Great video. Game has genuinely good ideas but horrible execution all around and no matter how many times someone links a UA-cam short of someone doing a perfect stealth or parkour run (after probably 100+ tries to get it right) I don't understand how there are people out there who genuinely enjoy the moment to moment in this game. It feels sluggish, there's tons of input delay, a total lack of precision and the stealth/tool balancing is horrendous - not to mention just being a straight up technical mess with a ton of bugs still present. Terrible game that is undeserving of all insane retroactive praise it is now getting.
I personally kinda appreciated the gameplay, it was pretty fun for a couple of hours.... but it tired me out immediately, and the problems out-shined the good things, also the story is just.... too bad, it literally sucks, also lag and bug issues all the time even on my ps4 pro, what a let down.
I got into the AC series quite recently and AC unity was my first AC game. I personally really like it. For me the stealth system is really good and does require some more skill than in black flag for example. But I understand when people say they don't like it
Honestly, in my entire time playing this game I encountered one thing that actually annoyed the piss out of me, my audio, no matter what settings I changed, constantly sounded like I was playing in a room with a vaulted ceiling, just weird echoe-y sound. For the most part I actually enjoyed it, though I still can't call myself a fanboy.
this is a very well put together video, but you did miss one thing that might have made your gear grind a little less tedious doing the Cafe Theatre missions along with purchasing other social clubs around the city increases your income to somewhere in the 40ks every hour or so There's also the heists which do seem a little insurmountable at first, given you have to get 4 players together in a dead game, but the one Heist titled "It Belongs in a Museum" has a really easy solo method and can net you 70k if you don't get detected
I bought the game fot PC few days ago, dec 1th 2023. I got pretty good pc now, 4070ti i5 13600k 32gb ddr5 ram NVME ...... and gues what, the game doesnt run properly, i cant load textures and i have some wierd black dots when loading textures. I tried all graphic settings, tried mods also nothing worked. Soo even 10 years afther release this game has shit ton of bugs that makes it unplayable. I just wanted to play some old AC game that i never played but i guess i wont be able even with stong PC
Glad to see people still giving the game fair criticism. I haven't played anything past Revelations. Now I'm on a binge (skipped Rogue for now). This is by far the worst one so far. It's not even close. It's the first time I don't have a love/hate relationship. I'm either seeing red or I feel absolutely nothing. No passion at all. It's all just so hollow. That's what I see in the developers as well. These games are supposed to be fun and whatever they did changed that. I felt it the moment I started. I did have hopes with the patches, but eventually saw major bugs. One mission was especially buggy and took a whole hour to beat. Most of the missions aren't even that challenging. Because they aren't engaging, just tedious at times. Same as having legit hundreds of collectibles on the map. The story is also lackluster and Arno is mostly a blank slate. I keep telling myself I wanna beat current AC game and move on to the next one. But this is the first one where I really just wanna move on to the next one, and not even beat it. Syndicate sounds a lot more appetising.
Syndicate is way more fun. Yes, it’s not perfect, but some of the mission design in the best in the series, IMO. Also, don’t skip Rogue! I had more pure FUN playing Rogue than any other game in the OG ACs. The story is a little bland and some of the missions are kind of lame, but a few are great and the side activities are awesome. Also, collecting stuff in the MD Abstergo offices actually gives you in-Animus rewards near the end, *and* it is the only game in which you can use the Abstergo challenges to become an immortal spree killer on the streets of NY during an endless rainy night, with lightning and thunder every time you make a kill. Then when you’re tired of doing that, you just turn off the Abstergo rewards and go back to your save like nothing happened!
@dqverify6797 Syndicate was an amazing game. I thought some things were weird like no jump, but didn't Unity have that too? I fly through games now so I forget. I did love the grappling hook. But I'm pissed how sidelined Evie was. Also got through Origins which is way different in its own right, and amazing as well. Currently working on Odyssey. I stand by what I said that Unity remains the one truly bad (or maybe just lackluster) game in the series. Even Liberation was better. And I absolutely did not pass up Rogue. I looked forward to it but all the others had better prices, and I'm broke and cheap. I still wanna play Black Flag Part 2.
I know you weren't expecting an overly long and tedious answer but by gum I'm gonna give you one. It's an interesting questions because I think it's fair to say that what makes an Assassin's Creed game is different things to different people. Personally I split them into 4 catagories. Original, Next Gen, RPG and Bastardisation. Everything up to Rogue is Original, Unity and Syndicate are Next Gen, the 3 RPG games are the RPG, and Mirage is a Bastardisation of the two. Going off your definition of "true", that being using the "old" formula, then I would argue that you have to exclude any of the RPG games, and by extension Mirage, as that game was an RPG game pretending to be an Original or Next Gen game. So, the last "true" AC game has to be something before Origins. I would exclude the Next Gen games because they "feel" different to play, which is very subjective but I personally felt that they felt like newer games trying to play like the Original games, which all felt very similar in terms of moving your character around. By that logic, the last "true" AC has to be one of the games before Unity. I personally would argue that Rogue was the last "true" AC, that uses the old formula and is good. However, my reasoning for that is that along with Black Flag, that game has what I consider to be an excellent sailing game bolted on to the existing AC game, and with your time split between playing Assassins Creed and a ship game, can it really be considered a "true" Assassin's Creed? So if it can't involve a ship game bolted on to the side, then surely it's AC 3, right? I mean Liberation could be a contender but that was a spin-off and a much shorter experience. But then again, depending on what you consider a game should be like to be considered an Assassin's Creed game, you might have to exclude 3 because yeah, Connor is an Assassin for most of the game, but he isn't really interested in the Creed or the Brotherhood, he's trying to save his tribes land and also get a bit of revenge. So where does that leave us? Probably Revelations or Brotherhood, as those game are actually about building the Brotherhood and fighting off Templars. But there's also quite a bit of focus on building up your business empire, and this is an Assassin's Creed game not Rennaisance Tycoon. We're Assassins, we should be assassinating people. So I guess that leaves us with Assassin's Creed 1 being the last "true" Assassin's Creed game. You are a member of the Brotherhood from the start, and you spend the game tracking down targets given to you by your boss, killing them because that is your job as an assassin. Tldr; Rogue, but anyone who hates boats will disagree with that.
@@borangedunn thanks so much for the detailed answer!! although I'll admit that how I'm confused on which ones to buy on cyber monday.. haha. thanks again!!
@@borangedunn assassin's creed 1 is the True assassin's creed game because it is based on the real life assassins also know as hashashin who existed in the middle east and executed their operations in the crusades time between Iran and Syria and Palestine they were suicide soldiers and performed suicidal assassinations on the Templars and politicians and Saladin men to serve their master who is known as Hassan al sabah desires for power and control just like altair and the other assassins assassinate the Templars and politicians and Saladin men to serve Al mualim desire for power and control. The Templars in real life was part of the crusades on the middle east also the assassins were eliminated by Saladin after the crusades ended. So ac1 is the True assassin's creed game because its story aspects is based on the real life assassins and events. The other games are just imaginations of ubisoft writers which is great in concept of games but they aren't about the real assassins so that is why you feel that the true one is the first one and that is actually right but ubisoft decided to milk the cow after the success of the first game and gave us some great games I won't complain about them but they just crossed the line now and actually we very much need a good remake of the first game with just some graphical enhancements and gamplay enhancements and open world with good side activities and good level design aside from that we don't need any changes on the first game and it would be the perfect one if it was made like that
And people call this shit the best Assassin's creed game. 30GB of patches and the game still sucks. Pop in all over the game, really low quality LOD models right across the street, although sometimes nice looking buggy parkour mechanics, COOP mode that doesn't even work for most of the time, putting an object between you and someone who's shooting at you doesn't change the fact that you're gonna get shot. The game is awful. Yet praised as one of the best in the series. People need to wake tf up.
There's businesses you can build in order to gain money to buy all sets even the most costly armor or weapons. You can just do side quest while waiting for the cafes to gain money or open up other cafes
Well, gameplay is one of the most important things for, you know, a game. I always enjoyed Unity, and I started playing it again after like 7 year or so. I never did many of the co-op missions before, but am doing them with my cousin now.
People say that only thing good in Unity was parkour, but it's not true side missions, Arno's arsenal and historical setting with huge amount of real people were amazing too
I was looking for an assassin's creed to play since i didn't play any game of the series since black flag if I remember well (I think I played rogue at some point too but not at the release) and I got caught by the insane hype this game seems to have since a few years on the internet. I'm only a few hours into the game so my opinion can (and will probably) change but god the first impression is really not good for me. All these "Unity is better looking then some recent games" are straight up lies, parkour feels quite clunky to me (although I assume I'll get better at it while playing) one of the things that tickles me the most is the way Arno kinda glides through the air on certain jumps, combat animations feel heavy and slow, plus the finishing moves are often not alligned with the ennemy wich looks terrible. I hate the fact that you have that menu to buy stuff instead of going to an actual shop plus you're drowned in potential pieces of gear to buy right after the intro instead of unlocking things progressively through the game and being excited to discover what rewards comes next. As I said I'm only a few hours in, I want to play this game and the city is incredible but reading all those hype comments was a mistake.
That's interesting, as I've wondered about this specific scenario before. I think the hype this game gets is partially fueled by the negative press the game received on release, as many of the problems the game had have now been fixed, making the game better than the one being described in the release reviews. You then get people posting parkour runs on TikTok, many of which use mods to improve the graphics, and people assume that the curated 60 second snap-shot they just watched is representative of the whole game in it's current state. As I said in the video, I still enjoyed the game because it does regularly come together to shine, but it is my least favourite in the series, even after playing Valhalla, the OTHER AC games people get very angry about one way or the other.
I'm still not sure why they haven't done assassins creed ANCIENT Rome. They have the assets from Odyssey that could be used, plus the map! Imagine Templar for The republic and Assassins for Julius Caeser or vice versa.
"Parkour can look incredibly but isn't reliable" More like the vast majority of players were just too braindead to understand the fundamentals. Because once you understand it, Unity's parkour is so fluid compared to anything else.
Xbox: Can't beat the Mission where you Kill the guy calling you PissPot (Bellec). PS4: Just breaks, and doesn't let you Play anymore Until it Restarts your whole game.
I know there are redeemable elements in Unity and it's always good to see people finally appreciate the dev's hard work. However, I still think Unity is mediocre at best. Controls in this game is too janky that you can't move your character wherever you want. This is a huge minus especially in this kind of a game.
@@emanuelldavid6074 years!? Damn you really suck then, cause that’s not a normal learning curve here, and this game isn’t a dark souls, there’s no difficulty and the parkour stays inconsistent and broken despite learning it.
I’ve been replaying the entire AC series recently and I have to massively disagree with you here. After going back through the entire series I have to put Unity right up near the top, possibly top 3… I’m putting it above the Ezio trilogy too simply for the gameplay alone. This game holds up amazing well in comparison to those games. Don’t get me wrong, Ezio is still my favourite AC protagonist BUT the way those games play is pretty awful. Now if I heard somebody say what I just said maybe a year ago I’d call them crazy but as I said, I’ve very recently gone back and played them all and they just don’t hold up at all
If your perspective is based on newer rpg games vs ac unity, then you are wrong, because ac unity is the best example of what an assassin creed game should have been aside from the fact that you ignore its execution (and story) because almost every ac after brotherhood was rushed by damned ubisoft who wanted to release ac game every year....and unity just had become the staple of that failure and their rushing pattern... And after origins assassin creed lost its identity and now you can't tell the difference between witcher and assassin creed. But if your perspective is based on the fact that assassin creed unity is rather poorly executed and could have been pinnacle of AC, then you are 110% right, because as I said unity got trapped in the ubisoft faulty model of bad marketing.
Exactly my point, the game was rushed and as such we got a sub-par product. They should have just have Rogue come out and leave Unity for the next year to give them time to finish it properly.
Dude it lost the identity after AC 3, black flag was bad with a fun gameplay, Unity is already the franchise as a zombie with non existing story non soul gameplay trying to compensate with hyperrealism... You are kinda the reason why developer kill their IPs souls you think the game is good cause the graphics, the realistic parkour, nothing of that is fun, no mention the combat is bad the RPG element is bad implemented, they changed the actually fun combat from the first games for sponges of damage enemies than take too long to kill or too short depending your level... God awful game.
@@PEDROGARCIA-qj3gr I never said that I like the game did I? And changing the Parkour was a necessity because of the verticality and scale of the game... You never expect to traverse the big map of the game with old slow paced Parkour..also they didn't have horses. So they had to make it fast paced... also I mentioned the story was shit.. didn't I? and about combat it was still challenging but I agree it could've been better... And if you are worried about Ac lost its identity, then aren't we the ones who were crying to ubisoft to change the same gameplay formulae from the Ezio trilogy...... Also I said, if ubisoft could have given more time to unity it could have been so much better... Apart from that as I said it... if ubisoft hadn't been obsessed with releasing ac every year..... Then we could still have had the same old formulae of AC mechanics running the franchise... And people could have still liked the old ac formulae...it was not fans but ubisoft themselves ruined the franchise....
Why was the creed so lame in this game. Just some old geezers who sit in a cave the whole game complaining. I felt nothing when they expelled arno because they hadn't been useful or interesting anyway.
Love your vids and totally respect your opinions on this. I just replayed unity for the first time in years and it might have been the most fun I’ve had on an ac game since origins I loved the combat and parkour
This is the one Assassin’s Creed I can say I didnt enjoy at all. It's a gorgeous game, but that is the only compliment I can give it. It's somehow both slow and boring and extremely rushed in It's pacing. I don't like the story, the main protagonist, and found the gameplay unfun. Overall a failure of a game for me. I didn't even feel immersed, which no other Assassin’s creed has ever failed to do.
What's pay to win about it? All I see is "hacking" with real currency to make items cheaper. If you ignore it you can build in game currency fast enough.
@@JustSomeKittenwithaGun You can literally buy the best weapons, armor and other equipment with real money and that's the very definition of pay to win.
@@Ausf.D.A.K. You can also pay a nerd to play the game for you. What is your point? I only see an additional option. It's a bit annoying how they set it up, yet it doesn't detract from my gameplay. It's unfair for well off people to have an advantage. But it's nice if you are stuck in a slightly better job where you don't get much free time. There's also the tradeoff that some of those people didn't earn the items in my mind, so their brain is probably scrambled from instant gratification anyway.
Obviously this is my opinion but I feel like you didn’t say a ton of critical things that can’t be attributed to lack of skill. Maybe I’ve spent too much time playing this game but idk
Im trying to play Unity now in 2024 and black flag. I already beat black flag once and Im not even in the half of Unity's storymissions. It has a really good fighting mechanics and stealth and parkour but its open world is dead and boring Its side missions are pointless and repetitive, like, I get paid 1500 for killing an normal enemy NPC i find on the streets. Arno's lore is so uninteresting that you cant get engaged on it if youre playing a better game. Black flag is full of flaws, has worst sword combat than unity but oh boy this game ia WAY MORE FUN to explore
Exactly , i don't get how some people praise this game as one of the best ( some even calling it the best in the whole series ) mediocre story , bland characters with the exception of élise , mediocre voice acting except élise ( again lol ) the writing in general doesn't feel cohesive and the gameplay is janky and clunky like it's from the ps2 era ( even some ps2 era games have better controls ) .
Looking back on this game, the parkour looks great, however I feel like the game doesn't give you enough control and it just feels sluggish, I guess the same can be said for the combat and the use of gadgets. Story was meh, wouldn't say it's terrible, it's just meh. Should've focused more on the French revolution and how it effects the conflict between the Assassin's and Templars to be honest. I'd go back to the game like once in a while, but I wouldn't really enjoy it as much. Although, I'd rather play this over the newer games.
thank you man, the revisionist history on some of these games is wild, unity still has broken af stealth...and i see you have a vid on syndicate, which is a better game in all regards, maybe not story, they re both ass in that departement, but at least that game bothered to fix all of unity s gameplay issues but gets none of the recognition....gotta imagine the reason all of the unity highlight reels are getting so much traction is because it s much harder to get it right than in syndicate where everything works well( other than the carriages) there are people out there putting in 800 attempts to make their vids as good as they look for unity
I played the games both syndicate and unity for the first time last month and I couldn’t disagree more. Playing on PS5 I experienced practically zero bugs and felt the free running, assassinations, mission design, open world and story are significantly better in unity compared to syndicate. It’s actually my favorite AC story (I started with AC III)
@@kmc4816 i honestly don t know how could you reach that conclussion honestly, ac 3 and 4 are both way better stories, higher stakes, better villains, better mc's. there s no way unity has better free running since you get stuck on all the small clutter, can t drop when you want, leading to you getting stuck on buildings and having to fast travel out of there etc the main mission design ain t better in any way than syndicate, which actually gives you multiple ways of assassinating and maybe a special cutscene, unity has broken stealth, maybe best encapsulated by that ball infiltration where the target lady will instantly spot you from kilometers away, or guards 3 stories bellow getting alerted by a fight( no bell triggered, like the guards are in some sort of hive mind), syndicate has a simpler and actually functional cover system etc. Open world kinda depends on your preference, i do like revolutionary france better than industrial london so there s that, the stories are both bad but the difference is marginal
@@wisecontragio172 idk what you’re talking about I had none of the issues you described free running like at all I never used fast travel because I loved free running so much. As well as the “broken stealth” I never had a problem that would leave me feeling like the stealth was broken again I JUST beat the game like a month ago so it’s still fresh in my mind. I like Arno way more than Connor and I like Edward a lot as well but favor Arno. I liked Elise’s character more than any other side character in an AC game though I did also enjoy black beard and Mary. I prefer more grounded stories so unity was perfect for me but you are right about the villains. In 4 Edward is not an assassin for the majority of the game and assassin contracts are available well before they are ever introduced which breaks immersion. Still black flag is my #1 AC game unity is #2 for me
@@wisecontragio172 I'm just hearing "mad cuz bad". Also, AC3 was hella bloated and bored me fast. I actually never played 4, so I can't comment. I played through AC2 back in the hayday, and I never really got the hype for the story. I'm gonna go ahead and say that none of the AC stories ever gripped me in any real way. I play AC for the gameplay and the atmosphere and that's about it. Saying that, Revelations was hella fun. I also enjoyed Valhalla to an extent, but only because I liked playing as a viking and the world was beautiful.
The first AC was better than it should've been and had it's problems, but also charm. I don't feel any different about any of the others as time has gone by. The one thing I do feel is once into the games and it all becomes familiar, how long can I remain mindlessly invested before the light dims? This is why I praise new game plus. I can pass on the 'grind/repetitive' activities and get to the story with time to kill if I choose. At least the game doesn't nag you if you hesitate to look at something or other.
8:28 FREE DLC I'd understand otherwise, and it's only free _because_ of the terrible launch, but it still _is._ So no, it isn't locked for anyone. And also, they are pretty crazy. They are pretty cheat-y and ridiculous weapons. They have to be separated.
I finally was able to finish this game due to being able to play it on the ps5 it kept lagging on the ps4 and has terrible frame rate issues this game has the most predictable story I’ve ever seen it was obvious you were gonna have to kill the guy that calls you piss pot and it was so obvious that Elise was going to die seeing how she runs into danger almost every encounter with her the story felt like a huge waste of time I did enjoy the parkour
I was super disappointed when playing Unity for the first time. It's not only the worst AC game for me, but probably one of the worst games of all time. I hate the clunkyness of this game, the terrible story, the unbalanced RPG elements that basically force you to grind or pay, the nonexistent pseudo-ambient music, the long and tedious missions, the awful parkour that may look cool, but keeps misbehaving or downgraded stealth and combat compared to Black Flag. And the worst thing about this game are its fanboys, who will call anyone disliking Unity a Valhalla or Odyssey fan. Just like with GTA IV fanboys calling anybody who doesn't like their beloved game a GTA Online kid.
Fanboys are an issue with most games though to be fair, but yeah it is kind of annoying when people don't understand the difference between someone saying they don't like something and saying others shouldn't like it. Also, GTA IV is my favourite, but I wouldn't argue with people for preferring the one with three characters and over-the-top heists over the one with a depressed chap and his horny cousin.
The AC: U story isn't terrible, not by any stretch, its mid, boring, but not bad, I have no clue how you came to that conclusion, and what grind? first time I played unity I just did main quests... that's it, never had to grind at all, what are you talking about? music is a non issue, isn't a objective criticism. long and tedious missions? would have to play again but they were pretty in line with previous games mission length from memory. The parkour has its issue for sure, but AC 3,4, rogue, Syndicate, Origins, odyssey and Valhalla 100% have way worse parkour with more issues than unity. Did we play the same game? combat in black flag looks flashy sure, buts its dogshit lol, press counter to win, 0 difficulty, and stealth was perfected in Unity, 2 tools at once, crouching, knowing where an enemy last saw you, great stuff that the old or new games cant even hold a candle to. And there it is, the "fanboys" thing, i will agree, fanboys of anything are annoying. But, after reading your comment and others like it, I'm starting to think maybe you're opinions are skewed by you're hate for the fanboys, happened to me many times.
@@icarus8284Unity really isn't that good. Way more credit than it deserves. Syndicate, Odyssey, III, Black Flag, and Origins all have better stories. From a gameplay perspective, the parkour in Unity is ok. It works a good bit but it just doesn't want to work all the time. On console, it's a nightmare to move around in Unity sometimes compared to the games that came after. People talk about spongey enemies in Odyssey, my God did Unity have them too and boy they weren't fun either. Unity is subpar in combat, where I can actually attack in the Colonial games without feeling the need to counter every moment and the RPG games give more control on how you play the game too. I missed parkour, but the RPG games do not hold back in options. As for stealth, Unity is too easy. I'll glady give best stealth gameplay to Mirage that pretty much perfected tools, and how to use them. Don't take this like I hate Unity because it is a good game and even better when you have someone to play with, but it has many issues and people simply overlook them to hate on the newer games. Bloated map with too many things on it, ok combat, lackluster story, and most of the game, Arno might as well not even be the person I'm playing as. The game has flaws but people make it out to be the ultimate AC experience. If I were recommending games from this franchise, The Ezio Collection, Origins, and Black Flag are without a doubt the highest quality games in the series. Other games may pull you to them for the setting, but the quality of the Ezio games, especially the story is peak, and Origins is probably the closest AC has gotten back to peak storytelling.
15:55 This is easily the most ridiculous, bullshit hate Ubisoft has ever gotten. That statement makes perfect sense. 1. We all know what state Unity released in. Do you really think they should have taken off even more time 2. Cassandra is built like a body builder. She is very much an exception. She could get away with using a male skeleton. 99% of women couldn't. 3. Even if Cassandra could have, she did not. She is using different animations. You can see the subtle differences even in the little footage you show. 4. The point is, you need double the work to make them seem the same. If you make them actually the same, one or both of them will not look "right". Just the fact that Cassandra has a different height already means that everything has to be re-made. It really isn't anywhere near as simple as people make it out to be. Arno has a bajillion animations, more than literally any other lead in the entire franchise. Each and every one of them would have to be tweaked for a female playable character. Not to mention that quite a few of them have to be changed entirely as they just don't make sense for a female body. And not just developed once, but playtested and iterated on. It's not just flipping a few zeroes to ones... There's a reason Syndicate cut back so many of the parkour animations and why there are so few combat finishers. And there's a reason Odyssey and Valhalla look worse in motion compared to Origins.
Getting back to #3, to list some differences. Cassandra: - sits further to the left - has her legs spread a bit wider - her left foot is angled down, while the right is angled up a bit - twists her body forward and to the left - tilts her head to the left - looks forward instead of down - is holding the sword _completely differently_
I just got into the franchise early 2023 with Origins which is in my top games ever. Ive play Odyssey which i didnt expect to like but actually did. Not something i would want to play again but im glad i did get to put it on my little gaming resume lol. Im now playing mirage...1 thing ive heard people say is "The new rpg games have no stealth" which loses me b/c i went thru the majority of the games in stealth....I did try Unity & it was kool but i think i stopped b/c of some dumb ass puzzle. I used to hear people say "The newer games have no stealth", but the majority of my kills in every AC game I've played has been stealth kills 🤷🏾♂️ In this video u talked about the combat & being that Parris is a crowed city, do u have to do alot of fighting? B/c even in Mirage I rarely even think about my weapon b/c im rarely in combat,l
I liked the game back then and still like it now, I felt like the setting resonated really well with the assassin aesthetic and my personal preferences. Animations are great, graphics aren't that bad, and the story is a bit lackluster. I wish we had more games on that era, the only other I can think of is Syd Meier's Pirates lol. Greedfall too, but that was a load of shite
I'm going back and playing the AC games I haven't played. I'm on this one now and I'm literally just playing the story missions because I can't stand it. The story is bland and boring. I feel like I'm constantly yelling at my TV because the controls aren't doing what I want them to do. The cover button is absolute crap. I preferred the old system of just automatically taking cover at a wall when close to it. And the combat is just annoying and unsatisfying. Smoke bombs are your best friend in this game bc it's the only way to kill a large group of enemies without getting shot and stabbed at the same time while parrying one person.
I'm trying to play this game again and it's so bad I can't get through a few missions without rage quitting at just how stupid the whole game is. - The story is literally forgettable within the first 3 sequences and you're just pushing yourself through it doing missions that you don't even know why. AC4's story made no sense but atleast that game was fun. - The parkour/freerunning is the worst, there's no flow and you have to input every command and if you're not at the exact angle it wants or you're 1mm away from the ledge it doesn't input anything. There's not even a rush when you have been spotted by a Halo 2 Legendary Jackal tier sniper because you're not 1mm to the right from a ledge to move. It was perfect in 2, why did they change it? - 'Here's an assassination mission, we've added 100 enemies who spot you instantly because we don't want you implement anything skillful, we just want you to run in, smoke and run away, fuck having fun' - Oh and you have to pay points for every basic skill you learn instantly in the old games just because? And if you want the best equipment, play the same co-op missions 100 times or Pay us money. - Level up system is moronic and makes no sense The only fun times I've had in this game was climbing the SoL and the Eiffel Tower, I've never screamed so much at a game for just inputting wrong commands or being plain stupid.
I usually enjoy your content but in this one you just said a lot of things that are simply not true. For example having to grind too much for gear and not being able to make enough money. The max income of the Cafe is about 40k livre, whereas you said it would be 380 livre. Also there is a difference between parries. The orange parry just barely deflects the attack and avoids damage while the yellow one shifts the momentum in your favour and enables you to counterattack. Another thing I thought was a bad point is that there would be “too much costumization”. I mean it’s just more options which is almost always a good thing. Armor also does increase your health (which you said it doesn’t). These are just a few examples that I noticed. I think there’s a lot of things you can criticize Unity for (like the story which does have some low points) but in my opinion you really undervalued this game and many points you made are just simply not right or misrepresented. I thought your Odyssey video was great however, but maybe you can give some of these games the benefit of the doubt and keep up the good work.
I love the game but there are still insanely messed up elements to it. The worst part of the game is the weapon balance. There seriously wasn't ever discussion during development that weapon classes should have different stats????? Why do the two handed class and the heavy weapon class share the exact same damage stats???? Lmao. So they made a game where only one weapon class is viable.
its hard not to blame new generation with poor taste (talking about fans of this "game"). you can call me boomer, but when something is bad its just bad.
Let's be real here, Unity is undoubtedly has the best parkour in the entire series. But this toxic AC community is so biased that they think this game is the perfect game and then proceeds to using ACU fixes mod (because they actually know that the bugs still exist yet make a fool of themselves with their bias), to me a good game doesn't need any mod to be played with. The story of Unity is just really bad, the character is the worst in the series. Stealth isn't the best either as Syndicate has much more refined stealth, black box missions, and overall is a more polished game. In this garbage community if you have different opinion on Unity, means you're wrong and stupid. Thanks for your bravery to make this video man.
Idk how ppl find this game good. The story sucks so bad, its a love story between a girl that is blinded by revenge and pet arno who keeps following her around. Weapons and skills are so boring. And add to that all the bugs. Ppl who say this game is playable are just delusional.
@@borangedunnBro you don't gotta be so hard on yourself. The fact that you're able to make these videos with thousands of views proves that you're charismatic and interesting to listen too.
Ladies and gentlemen the fan base defending this game now will be the same people who are bashing shadows today give it 5 years and they will be doing the same when it comes to ac i learned never to listen to the fan base 🤷
I think unity is a good game robbed of the opportunity to be a great game. Ubi showed they could fix the jank of the movement with syndicate, the visual bugs were semi-fixed with a patch, but any improvement that could've been made to the game fell as victim to the corporate machine; and this applies to everything Ubi have put out recently. Developers trying their best to make a functioning work while the execs are underpaying them and stealing their sleep in tow.
You're right, and it's important to keep that in mind. Most of the time games are rushed due to pressure from the publisher. Unfortunately with Ubisoft they are both developer and publisher so it can get confusing 😅
Most unoptimized game i ever played. Cant get 30 fps, even people who have high end pc can't play this game. I need to put it on lowest resolution to play it but graphics are bad then. 3/10
First of all the argument that the Graphics still hold up is pure crap. Its overrated as hell. For the time it came out it was probably a great achievement don't get me wrong, but its very much 2014 and it shows. That wouldn't be as big of an issue if it wasn't for the fact that quite a few newer AC players, including myself, wanted to try this game based on the praise it got lately for exactly that. The controlls are bad too. Chunky, all over the place and at times unresponsive. You might think this is just me blaming the game for not understanding it myself but believe me I tried and gave it multiple shots. Comming from someone who is used to switching control schemes often (I play both Playstation and Nintendo). Oh and the story is weird and all over the place to. So we have 3 major selling points of a game and it fails hard...on all 3...
I remember how it was impossible to praise this game back then...Now you can't say it's bad without having its fanboys attack you
It's funny what a few TikTok videos of perfect parkour runs can do to public opinion 😅
@@borangedunn the ac fanbase does this to every old game, they even hated 4 (the greatest game ever) back then and now they even love Unity and Syndicate....

I still don’t know what magic code they glued together for unity when it came out everyone had broken games but mine played fine but when I reinstall years later it’s suddenly glitchy now
To this day your right. It’s pathetic

That's really interesting! Did you do any QA work on any other AC titles?
I was really impressed by the range of weapons, world and combat animations in Unity. I didn't play at launch though. I really enjoyed Unity
The game that set at French revolution focusing on Romeo and Juliet storyline.
That is the most relatable comment I have seen describing unity's story
The map itself is such a cluttered mess in Unity, it's a chore to find the main mission marker, by the time i get there i'm already bored out of my mind..
Literally my biggest issue like why do you need 40 markers on 1 area and those missions that are side content are so bloated
This game had so much potential. It's a shame how it fell so far short of it. I still find this game hard to play and think without mods its terrible.
How did you fixed performance?
Based Rogue Enjoyer 💪
Parkour also sucks. One of the most fluid parkour in ac game they said. It feels like running in water.
I thought it's gonna be great experience as well. In the end all it did was tire me. I'm exhausted. Definitely not underrated and definitely not one of the best ac's.

@@Rengokuo4o6 I can agree.
i have played the game recently and yes this system pretty suck - everything good otherwise only related to graphic and animation - nothing more nothing less.
This game is very heavily animation based and others things always got involved with AI hand - no freedom at all.
Peoples only praised the game for graphic and animation only but never notice the base system. Thats why after syndicate they have to (sadly) abandoned the animation system and replace with more controlled of freedom from Origin and later

What fans recognize in this game is a concept and the hope that Ubisoft looks at it and tries to execute it again, giving it the time and dedication it deserves.
No people legit defend this game bud and the funny thing is these people where completely silent until years later you dont come late to the party after years of patches and updates and defend something that was basically unplayable I hate those types of fans because they come off as the most uneducated and stupid morons I have ever had a debate with on something 😂 no game should ever release in that state ever period 😂
perfectly stated ragnarth.
@@ac_nerd9794 exactly summed it up pretty well
Unity is far from perfect, but the series would have benefited from building on its systems and ideas rather than going the RPG direction they did.

“it’s fixed after the patches” is the biggest lie the AC fandom has ever said. the patches didn’t do shit, the game is still broken
Same here, still sucks
It is all because some scripted moded parkour and stealth gamplay videos that people think this but in reality it takes forever to make a perfect run of parkour or stealth it is fixed with mods not with patches Also the romance story isn't good at all it should have focused more on the revelation and the assassin's order and the combat isn't actually bad it is good in my opinion fun and very challenging
This game freezes constantly and gets stuck on the loading screen for years. I wanted to like this game, but that crap makes it hard to
I played this game recently and i agree its overrated.
You're also meant to do the raids in order to make money quick. It was a big feature launched when coop when it was a thing back then
Very small.... simple.... question.... here guys
WHY DOES THIS GUY NOT HAVE MORE SUBSCRIBERS!!
I don't hate the game, the patch only fixed so much and a lot of visual and performance glitches are still impossible to overlook, never mind the fact that it crashes occasionally
There is a lot to like about it, but unfortunately the rushed development time still shows after fixes
That being said it is most definitely not at the bottom of my list, I will replay this game over Revelations or the original any day of the week. I can't decide whether I like it better than syndicate or not, syndicate is more polished but I have my share of issues just with that game's overall design
There aren't too many games in this franchise that I downright dislike, Revelations is really the only one I can think of unless we want to count liberation but I don't know that I can fairly stick a handheld in with the rest of them and try and compare the quality
I mentioned the original not cuz I necessarily bad but it was a flawed gem to begin with, the open world is really empty with nothing to do, and the mission structure to get to assassinations begins to get really tedious by the end of the game, however the story kept me hooked in that one then ultimately led me to decide to give the sequel the shot which made me a huge fan of the franchise
It's always a bit annoying however as it clearly takes inspiration from the Arkham grappling hook system but it's a bit jankier there too
Pretty sure you could whisle in AC3 before blackflag came out
Funny thing, III started the whistling.
If i am right, perfect parry means Arno punches the guy and he stumbles. While a normal parry simply blocks
I personally kinda appreciated the gameplay, it was pretty fun for a couple of hours.... but it tired me out immediately, and the problems out-shined the good things, also the story is just.... too bad, it literally sucks, also lag and bug issues all the time even on my ps4 pro, what a let down.
bro how are you..can i play assassain creed unity .with core i 5 3rd gen..
Ubisoft list the minimum spec as requiring an i5 2nd gen, so a 3rd gen should be fine I reckon!
5:59, perfect parries open up enemies to being hit when thet would have otherwise deflected your attack.
Non-perfect parries do this too though. Maybe perfect parries leave them open for a bit longer?

OH THANK GOD SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS ME. i felt like i was alone in my unity hate, i fucking hate this damn game
this is a very well put together video, but you did miss one thing that might have made your gear grind a little less tedious
doing the Cafe Theatre missions along with purchasing other social clubs around the city increases your income to somewhere in the 40ks every hour or so
There's also the heists which do seem a little insurmountable at first, given you have to get 4 players together in a dead game, but the one Heist titled "It Belongs in a Museum" has a really easy solo method and can net you 70k if you don't get detected
The Heists can be done solo, actually. The Coop missions require at least 2 players, though.
Furry 🤢🤮
I bought the game fot PC few days ago, dec 1th 2023. I got pretty good pc now, 4070ti i5 13600k 32gb ddr5 ram NVME ...... and gues what, the game doesnt run properly, i cant load textures and i have some wierd black dots when loading textures. I tried all graphic settings, tried mods also nothing worked. Soo even 10 years afther release this game has shit ton of bugs that makes it unplayable. I just wanted to play some old AC game that i never played but i guess i wont be able even with stong PC
At this point, i literally can't play a Ubisoft game without a trainer to a void grinding
Worst game I’ve ever played.
November / 2024 and I can confirm that this game STILL, undoubtedly, sucks.
what would you say is the last true assassins creed? ( that used the old formula and is good)
I know you weren't expecting an overly long and tedious answer but by gum I'm gonna give you one.
This is the best review that I've heard of Unity. I quit the game after 10hrs 🤷🏾♂️ I had all the same sentiment of the game it's very overrated.
4:50 This is 100% a skill issue. There was a very obvious clear path free of people between you and the stairs.
Unity is still good gameplay wise, but yeah the story isn't very good
Well, gameplay is one of the most important things for, you know, a game. I always enjoyed Unity, and I started playing it again after like 7 year or so. I never did many of the co-op missions before, but am doing them with my cousin now.
the gameplay isn't even good though
Gameplay is not good. Stealth doesn't work, parkour is clunky, game is grindy, too much collectibles and quests.
@@IskenderCaglarM41B441 I haven't had those issues, except the grindy stuff
Gameplay sucks, story sucks, levelling up system sucks
People say that only thing good in Unity was parkour, but it's not true
side missions, Arno's arsenal and historical setting with huge amount of real people were amazing too
I was looking for an assassin's creed to play since i didn't play any game of the series since black flag if I remember well (I think I played rogue at some point too but not at the release) and I got caught by the insane hype this game seems to have since a few years on the internet.
Playing PS4 version of Unity still sucks, lags and frame drops make me crazy, we need a patch to improve FPS.
I'm still not sure why they haven't done assassins creed ANCIENT Rome. They have the assets from Odyssey that could be used, plus the map! Imagine Templar for The republic and Assassins for Julius Caeser or vice versa.
Yet the assassins were part of the death of Caesar in origins.
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
"Parkour can look incredibly but isn't reliable"
More like the vast majority of players were just too braindead to understand the fundamentals. Because once you understand it, Unity's parkour is so fluid compared to anything else.
Good video, worth a sub. Look forward to more.
You can get out of cover while still crouching by holding the crouch button down the entire time brother
Xbox: Can't beat the Mission where you Kill the guy calling you PissPot (Bellec).

I know there are redeemable elements in Unity and it's always good to see people finally appreciate the dev's hard work. However, I still think Unity is mediocre at best. Controls in this game is too janky that you can't move your character wherever you want. This is a huge minus especially in this kind of a game.
I think that you can’t move well in the parkour is just a skill issue
Haa facts 😂
For the first time yes it is hard. It took me about 4 years to memorize and familiarize myself with the parkour system. 👍🏻

After going back through the entire series I have to put Unity right up near the top, possibly top 3…
I’m putting it above the Ezio trilogy too simply for the gameplay alone. This game holds up amazing well in comparison to those games.
Don’t get me wrong, Ezio is still my favourite AC protagonist BUT the way those games play is pretty awful.
Now if I heard somebody say what I just said maybe a year ago I’d call them crazy but as I said, I’ve very recently gone back and played them all and they just don’t hold up at all
L opinion no one should love this buggiest mess. Not even single thing works in this game
@@borangedunn everybody seems to forget this but unity was not made within a year, it was in development even during AC3.
AC rev had 11 months
This game SUCKS because of the fact that it's pay to win. I'm never playing another Ubisoft game ever again. F these anti-consumer practices!

Im trying to play Unity now in 2024 and black flag. I already beat black flag once and Im not even in the half of Unity's storymissions. It has a really good fighting mechanics and stealth and parkour but its open world is dead and boring
Its side missions are pointless and repetitive, like, I get paid 1500 for killing an normal enemy NPC i find on the streets. Arno's lore is so uninteresting that you cant get engaged on it if youre playing a better game. Black flag is full of flaws, has worst sword combat than unity but oh boy this game ia WAY MORE FUN to explore
Exactly , i don't get how some people praise this game as one of the best ( some even calling it the best in the whole series ) mediocre story , bland characters with the exception of élise , mediocre voice acting except élise ( again lol ) the writing in general doesn't feel cohesive and the gameplay is janky and clunky like it's from the ps2 era ( even some ps2 era games have better controls ) .
no hate to the voice actors but whoevers idea it was for them to have british accents is an idiot
8:28 FREE DLC
I'd understand otherwise, and it's only free _because_ of the terrible launch, but it still _is._ So no, it isn't locked for anyone.
This game was and still is a mess. Time to throw away your rose tainted glasses guys, and see Unity for what it is (aka letdown).
@@icarus8284 TLDR
@@COURIER169 he thinking unity is the worst AC and I gave my reasons for why he’s wrong
I can't believe they didn't include the french revolution at all in the main story
I just played this game and this is the worst AC I ever played
15:55 This is easily the most ridiculous, bullshit hate Ubisoft has ever gotten. That statement makes perfect sense.
1. We all know what state Unity released in. Do you really think they should have taken off even more time
Cassandra:
- sits further to the left
- has her legs spread a bit wider
- her left foot is angled down, while the right is angled up a bit
- twists her body forward and to the left
- tilts her head to the left
- looks forward instead of down
- is holding the sword _completely differently_
I can’t believe I wasted money on this trash worst $10 I have ever spent
- 'Here's an assassination mission, we've added 100 enemies who spot you instantly because we don't want you implement anything skillful, we just want you to run in, smoke and run away, fuck having fun'
- Oh and you have to pay points for every basic skill you learn instantly in the old games just because? And if you want the best equipment, play the same co-op missions 100 times or Pay us money.
- Level up system is moronic and makes no sense
The only fun times I've had in this game was climbing the SoL and the Eiffel Tower, I've never screamed so much at a game for just inputting wrong commands or being plain stupid.
I've played this and it's straight TRASH game
Uh no I think it's probably the best one in the series honestly.
I god damn hate the combat system.
I like the video because the gameplay aspects you mentioned were true (to an extent) but, I just feel that they were super nit picky
In all honesty the game has a great parkour system and stealth mechanics but the story is so stupid and lifeless I had to force myself to finish it
Let's be real here, Unity is undoubtedly has the best parkour in the entire series. Thanks for your bravery to make this video man.
i love ac unity
Idk how ppl find this game good. The story sucks so bad, its a love story between a girl that is blinded by revenge and pet arno who keeps following her around. Weapons and skills are so boring. And add to that all the bugs. Ppl who say this game is playable are just delusional.
I can be your friend and play unity... you don't need to die alone.
I've accepted my lonely fate, it's too late for me.
LoL Fine. Guess I'll jerk off with broken glass... meaning, playing unity alone.
@@borangedunnBro you don't gotta be so hard on yourself. The fact that you're able to make these videos with thousands of views proves that you're charismatic and interesting to listen too.
Unity is better than Odyssey 100x
L take (Jk I didn't watch the video but I respect your opinion ❤)
THANK YOU THIS GAME IS INFURIATING
Most unoptimized game i ever played. Cant get 30 fps, even people who have high end pc can't play this game. I need to put it on lowest resolution to play it but graphics are bad then. 3/10
Unity is the BEST of AC. Period.
It's the best after you watch 100s of videos insisting that it's a masterpiece. It's not when you actually finally play the game. 🤮
@@fasteddyukI agree with you so much stealth is ass parkour they weren’t lying about it but STEALTH now that’s bullshit
