Two years ago I was walking on Foothill blvd with my dog in Sunland, Ca. As I was walking a black Ford GT passed me the opposite way. I was so shocked and mesmerized to see that car and I saw it turn into the Shell gas station on the corner of Ora Vista and Foothill Blvd. Which btw if you take Ora Vista all the way down it will lead you into the Angeles Crest Forest canyon which a lot of car reviewers use like Matt Farah. Anyway as I walked back towards the Shell and I was approaching the Ford GT to stare at it lo and behold the driver was Jay Leno. He was super cool and talked to me about the car and even took a picture together with my dog which he was absolutely astonished how large he is because he’s a 120lb Bandog. After that I would see him almost every Sunday going into the Canyon with that Ford GT and he would always honk and wave at my dog and I when he passed us on Ora Vista.

The wing doesn't drop because it's a safety feature. Ford doesn't want your fingers to get chopped off if you have them under the wing. It will drop when you go up to 15-20 MPH.
When this first came out, everyone complained about it not having a nice sounding V8. I saw one of these randomly drive by once and the guy floored it - it sounded like a loud supercar. It's not a high revving exotic sound but it's good enough, and it looks really great in person. Seeing it at a car show, it was shocking to see how many gaps the car has. From behind, it feels like the middle part is a foot wide and you can see right through it. It definitely stands out.
@@TheStraightPipes Paint protection film, polished them, ceramic coatings, wheels off to coat, install mesh grills in vents to prevent rocks from coming in them along with many other things. I have five friends with them now. The guys over at MultiMatic are awesome. Have you guys visited them?
I gotta say, I like this format. You should bring it back occasionally for special cars (not just the ones you're allowed 5 miles on). Also liked how it felt like a livestream, where we got to see your genuine first impressions.

I wish ford makes a mini gt, something thats not a muscle car or fiesta type sports car but competes with the bmw m3s and c63s with a design derived from this
Memories of being a little kid into race cars both real slot cars back when the original Ford GT came out. I think back then to race in it class there had to be X number of production street versions sold. So a couple times I remember seeing a original Ford GT. So the Ford GT has a lot of meaning for me.
I remember watching Dream Car Garage. I haven't stopped in at Legendary in ages. I can only afford their cars in 1/64 scale, and my 5 yr old took all of them lol.

I know this request might be dumb, but can you show the indicator on all the cars you review? I don't know why but I like seeing what each car indicator looks like. and especially on a cool car like this Ford GT.
10:31 Ford lets very few techs work on these things. I worked at a ford dealership in high school and there was only one person who ever worked on them. I later heard that he was one of only two people in our state that was certified to do so, and I can confirm, he also serviced fiestas

I loved seeing the GT in the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech Series at Lime Rock Park. The brutish and beefier sounding big V8 C7R Corvettes were left vanquished by this mighty TT V6 beast! Kicked the Corvette's asses 2 weeks later at Road America, too. The engine is a race proven power plant with 6 years of IMSA Prototype racing behind it. Photos and movies of it don't do it any justice. It must be seen in person, and I promise your jaw will drop to the ground at first sight! Absolutely stunning from any angle.
you guys should do a behind the scenes video... like... how do you go about getting access to all these cars... insurance requirements... journalist stuff... any behind the scenes people who help you... maybe your fave reviews ever, etc.
I actually had a customer request to turn his new blue one into Ken Miles heritage car. I Installed all orange stripes on it and along with double Horseshoes on rear quarter. It was pretty cool.
To this day, whenever someone asks me what my dream car is, the first generation Ford GT’s are always my answer. I really love the updated model, but not so much the latests futuristic supercar model.
The Current GT40 is the best looking, but the previous model has an amazing V8. If the new Ford GT had a V8, it would be one of the Greatest Cars of all time
Despite the engine and cup holders this car is a total exotic/supercar pass. The stance/height The carbon/alcantara everything approach The small cabin The crazy design The actual racing heritage Wow 🔥
Too bad nobody commissioned a "1 of 1 Edition" in Saleen Extreme Rainbow. Mystichrome was a cool $3,500 option back in the day but the $10,000 Extreme Rainbow option provided so much more.

No, the wing isnt down because if its parked for too long it will tilt forwards and evently rest on the body causing damage.
