What can I say? I'm with you on this one. It's chaotic fun but there's enough character, charm and care poured into the game to confirm a purchase for anyone looking for another zombie fest game
For a game that went thru one of the roughest development processes ever, it came out well optimized across all platforms including ps4 and xbox one even. The combat is very fun and I really enjoyed the areas you explore. It’s the best zombie game i’ve played in years and I know i’ll be coming back to it for a long time! Hope they make some worthwhile dlc down the road as well
Biggest surprise gem for me this year . I had huge reservations about dropping 70$ on this but my goodness the zombie kills never get old because of how detailed they are . This game is excellent , extremely gory , chaotic fun , and the story is typical but very entertaining .
My one problem with the game is the lack of giant open environments, the first game had the resort, the city, and the jungle, each had a giant sandbox to explore and find collectibles and easter eggs, each zone in DI2 feels disappointing on how small they are constrained to. I hope that in the DLC we either get a giant open zone or two, or maybe bring back the arena from the first game, a nice mode to kill time and gather some exp. Dying light had amazing zones and combat was good but I just prefer DI2 gameplay the most out of the bunch, Dying light 2 gameplay felt cruddy to me, the perfect game would be Dying light 2s map with the combat and story of Dead Island 2.
The size and openess of the world is definitely a huge downgrade but it at least focuses on quality and diversity over quantity I think, almost every individual building/area is unique and there's not much copy and pasting and there are areas that are just full of charm like the Goat Pen. The Dying Light games to varying extents just feel kind of samey at times. Dead Island 1 is still the winner out of all 4 though to me, It's just so huge, so diverse and so fun to explore.
Dead Island 2 rocks and Dyling Light 2 sucks (or is rather an awful downgrade from its predecesor) , I did *NOT* see that coming. The one that went through development hell for almost a decade managed to give almost everything Dead Island 1 had and more, and Techland, which blew even the harshest critics of Dead Island 1 away with Dying Light, generally blew it with the sequel and tried to fix what wasn't broken. It feels like Dying Light 2 tried to hard to be different and changes things up with the sequel and almost everything changed was for the worst. Meanwhile Dead Island 2 doesn't add much but it delivers and updates the feel of the original pretty damn well. The guns in this game are awesome IMO but the aiming is pretty crap (it's like too sensitive on the lowest settings and any higher is unusable) and the ammo caps make it pretty shortlived fun.
So what your trying to say is that dead island 2 is just a boring Melee slaying Zombie game with better graphics than the first nice thanks won't be buying

Yes! Exactly what you said

Mason, the commentary is WatchMojo-esqe. I cant tell if it's scripted, heavily edited, both or neither. Kudos.

DL2 story was crubby lol were you playing the same game there's way more to do in DL2 and the story plus side quests etc etc way better than DI2 lol

ugh. working on a saturday!?
Perks of being a mail carrier I guess hahaha
Crazy that by all accounts, this game should have been a flop, but it came out fantastic, and Redfall was expected to be a hit, but is terrible. Nuts
Yes!!! If someone told me I’d have more fun with Dead Island 2 instead of Redfall a year ago, I would’ve laughed right in their face.
