A little different aspect, no-one ever talks about the outtakes, although they would also deserve a huge credit, I of course love the main videos but the outtakes show a much quirkier side of the two of you, and must admit always cracks me up, loving every second, thanks to both of you as always:)
I first learned about this station on All the Stations and thought "Well that's a really neat building and fitting for a castle station". Nice to know the whole history of the area. And 8 million quid in today's money for just 17 miles of track is the same energy as Napoleon selling the Louisiana Territory to the US for four cents an acre at a grand total of 15 million dollars in 1803 money (over 300 million in today's money).
Lads, I’m so glad your channel came up in my recommendations. Have greatly enjoyed all your videos and look forward to more. Cheers! Ken from Alabama. USA
Loved this episode!!!! Loved it so much I went straight back to the beginning to watch again. But wait, there's more....going to watch it all over again💙💙
Another very well done video. I really enjoy when you combine the history and scenery into the video. Informative and entertaining. Beautiful landscape. Running along the beach looked very nice. Thanks again for sharing.
Great vlog lads. The Duke of Devonshire done the same in Ireland when he built a line to serve his Irish home in Lismore County Waterford and the line was known as the Dukes railway.
A train around the garden sounds like a great plan. I can see it now; load up the gardening tools you need, and ride the train to the far side! No more walking the wheelbarrow back and forth. Have a great weekend, xoxo's Sandie
Again, you do a very good video. Thanks gents. The idea of a miniature railway is a brilliant idea. It also reminded me of a ludicrous small video of a brass band on one. Crazy image.Worth a Google search.
Colin just brightens up when talking trains. The little child in all of us comes out for certain things and it's trains for him. And me too! 'Train!' 🚂
Thank you so much for showing us the history of Dunrobin train station. You show us so much interesting places that you visit. I am from Massachusetts USA and it is nice to see other countries. Have a great week.
Another skilful gem plus an interesting story. I don`t mind if you do vlogs on trains,or chickens boats, planes, bridges or plinthes and statues, it`s all good stuff and you have the knack of making it very entertaining. Thanks guys.
Well boys I've subscribed for a good while now and really enjoy your adventures and interactions. Decided to comment tonight as I have a garden railway. G scale. Can really recommend it if your good at engineering, surveying, grading land for track laying and planning your track around your land. It's no cheap anymore however, I got into it about 20+ years ago and only returned to the hobby on retirement from pre-hospital care. I know a few of the GP's in your area and have been through and around there over the years. Beautiful part of the country. Your vlogs are always something to look forward to. Very entertaining and informative. Keep up the brilliant work. Graeme.
You both look wonderful, so relaxed, and happy. It must be the trainnnnnnnnnnnn vibes. Would love to see a train in your backyard, like the ones that they have in miniature parks. As always keep safe and many blessings
Hi, Cath here. This brings back very happy memories of my youth. Waiting at Liverpool St station onvour way to Suffolk, while mum popped off to phone the neighbour! Every year same thing. Was always worried she would miss the train. Also, being allowed with my 2brothers to get in the steam engines at the terminal in Ryde IOW. Amazing, my brothers eyes were like saucers!!! So sad when steam trains were no longer in use. WONDERFUL ENGERNEERING.
Through your channel, dear Foxes Afloat, I fell in love with narrowboats. But before that, my absolute favorite mode of transportation was trains. In short, I clicked on this video faster than a cheetah takes a piss. Questionable metaphors aside, you always shine a light on the little-known local and hidden gems of each location you pass through and, not only is it informative, but also quite fascinating. I look forward to paying this place a visit when I get to Britain one day. Cheers from Los Angeles!
What an interesting and well-made video this was, again! Thank you both. Train travel is the best. My husband and I went on the Mountain Thunder excursion train last week - going from Paekakariki to the Raurimo Spiral on the Central Plateau in New Zealand- brilliant! We left at 6am and returned at 9.45pm, and enjoyed every minute. 3 Diesel engines pulled 20 passenger cars through the beautiful landscape of our country and over 75 metre high viaducts. There were 800 people on board. It was on occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Steam Inc. and the second time I had booked a ride with them (the first time was a train pulled by a steam engine). Cheers from our currently chilly country. Anne-Marie
What beautiful country your train ride along the beach side it's amazing to see all that beachfront property not polluted with condos like they are down here in Florida beautiful thank you for the ride have a great day you guys
What fantastic sights! Gripping tale and a fantastic presentation. The sights remind me of the Cape Defiance route of the Amtrak Cascades - the Puget Sound is a magnificent view from the train.
Oh my Gahhhhh...I am such a fangirl for trains. Crossed the US coast to coast 5 or 6 times by train. I hear there is an overnight train from London to the Highlands. That is the trip I hope to plan. Great Vlog!! Thanks Colin and Shaun! oxo
Hi Cath, it's been a few years but I did take that train North out of London overnight and it was wonderful. Do try it if you get a chance. I much prefer trains to planes, and have done a fair amount of training in the US like you. Gloria 🐂
Fantastic to see this as three years ago we did a rail tour which took us from Inverness, visited The Castle, then took the train from that station up to Thurso, and yes the scenery along the way was spectacular. Have a group tour photo taken on the platform of Dunrobin Station...thanks for the memories!!
Enjoyed this vlog as I love train journeys. My husband and I travelled by train from Newport South Wales to Oban years ago. When we holiday we always try to take a train and boat trip. Your vlogs are like a history lesson with laughter which is always enjoyable xx
You two are absolutely priceless - guaranteed a good laugh. Fascinating information Colin a great bit of Scottish history. Shaun's facial expressions are amazing. Thank you both.
Congratulations on yoour very first Traaaaain! video. I have seen the steam locomotive "Dunrobin" and its coach a few times. It spent a number of years in British Columbia, and was quite a hit when it appeared at Expo '86 in Vancouver. Last I heard, the locomotive and coach had returned to the UK with the intention of restoring both to operating condition. Are there crazy people who try to build (full sized) railways nowadays? Yes. I'm one of them.
Glad to see you're enjoying life up here in Scotland, I wish i was living in the Highlands but I'll sum it out here near Glasgow but at least i'm really well connected transport wise
Hi guys another smashing video as always great train ride lovely country side,I have already ordered a calendar ages ago can't wait for its arrival, best wishes to you both and of course a pat and a treat for Otis
Such an interesting and professionally made video. Keep up the great work and thanks for the information that you give in your blogs. Makes history interesting.
Why am I thinking about Lord Belborough from Chigley? 🎵"Time flies by when I'm the driver of a train and I stand on the footplate there and back again"🎵Thank you 👍
I do think ‘pomegranate’ is much more interesting than the word ‘integrate’! Great vlog interesting, informative with lots of chuckles - beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing from Brisbane Australia.
Now that’s what I’m talking about Colin. 👍 Keep these top notched vlogs coming. I thoroughly enjoy your adventures through the towns and countryside. Take us with you, more give us more!😁I just love you two!❣️
Another great vlog…..scenery stunning….I remember getting a train from Wick in 1988….took 11 hours to Newcastle 🤣. How do I order a calendar please? 🤔 x
This was a good one. I love trains. I have just watched and episode of The far north Scottish railroad on "Worlds most Scenic railway journeys", so this was fitting. Now i can't wait to follow You building a garden railway.
I was excited about this video Culin. I like trains too. Also your videos are so entertaining because I learn something about Scotland and the area around.
Hey guys, I missed the calendar order last year so I've already pre-ordered. There is no way I was going to miss it this year. Love your train vlog! Take care until next week.
Now that was a very interesting vlog, The Castle looks interesting too. That Duke really was a major benefit to the local area and the railway is a long lasting benefit to the local area. That Station is a real jewel and the coast looks gorgeous as well. If you do get to build a Garden railway will Shaun be the engine driver I think it would suit him. Take care guys Cheers from me and Canada .
I know you’re not a rail vlog but as an enthusiast I could happily watch you roaming the country checking out cool historical railways
Agreed
Yeah the Newfoundland railway would be a good one
A little different aspect, no-one ever talks about the outtakes, although they would also deserve a huge credit, I of course love the main videos but the outtakes show a much quirkier side of the two of you, and must admit always cracks me up, loving every second, thanks to both of you as always:)

Awesome, thank you!
“And get pulled off further South,” is really, truly, some excellent double entendre work. Very, very nicely done.
Perfectly delightful! Scotland, trains, history, and you two! So very enjoyable - please do more like this. Loved it.
Thank you! Will do!
You can do all of the train videos you want. Looks like a line I need to ride, so many things left to see
Happy birthday, Colin. Cake fund top up! 🎂
Boom! Thank you! 🙏🏻
Great vlog lads. The Duke of Devonshire done the same in Ireland when he built a line to serve his Irish home in Lismore County Waterford and the line was known as the Dukes railway.

Shaun and Colin another great vlog. The scenery was beautiful. So glad you are both still doing vlogs. Please pet Otis for me

Loved the rail vlog. If you fancied doing more of these, I certainly wouldn't complain. :)
Cracking little piece. Great drone shots. A trip for the bucket list. 😁
Again, you do a very good video. Thanks gents. The idea of a miniature railway is a brilliant idea. It also reminded me of a ludicrous small video of a brass band on one. Crazy image.Worth a Google search.

Thanks boys for video. It was great fun. I enjoyed it very much. Until next time.
Thank you. Excellent vlog. More train trips, please!

I think a garden traiiiiin is a fabulous idea! I can imagine Otis(ears flapping in the breeze) riding on the front too, you should definately do it!
Bludy rippa views there where the houses actually overlook the sea. Nice drone work, rippa place! Thanks m8s, keep up the good work, stay vertical!
The best Traaaaiin vlog ever!!!!! Thhhhaaaaaaaanks
Lovely!! I would be tempted to take the train on a regular basis for fun, maybe to go for lunch. I love the train!

Great name for a narrowboat for an ex-burglar.....'Dunrobin'....Enjoyed the vlog...
Brilliantly produced. Very entertaining. No pun intended; I was transported. It is mesmerizing and relaxing. You’re both brilliant educators.

Fabulous video. Loved your first "traaaaaain" video. Have pre-ordered the calendar too! Love you guys!
“Dunrobin”, the Duke’s steam engine, is currently being overhauled at Bridgnorth works on the Severn Valley Railway in Shropshire

History and scenery and good humor--great video
Thank you both for some normality, away from the mad world we live in, or are pushed at by the rubbish media. We love your channel so much.
When I was a kid my friends dad built a small railway in his garden, we had great fun on it!
I do think ‘pomegranate’ is much more interesting than the word ‘integrate’! Great vlog interesting, informative with lots of chuckles - beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing from Brisbane Australia.

Thanks for showing us this lovely bit of track along that gorgeous coastline. ATB!
You did a trip in the cab of a diesel loco on the Churnett Railway when you were on the Caldon Canal.
Looking forward to the garden railway build. :)
You and me both!
Hi guys, my favourite bit of the video was at the end when Seans face was covered with the QR code then he moved his head and the code moved🤣🤣🤣🤣
Congratulations Colin! 🎉
Fantastic to have a Vlog on trains, love it!
Love you guys. Such great energy. Thanks for the entertainment, and i commend your edit skill/style (from a fellow videographer).

I found your channel through the railway channels I follow: UK railways > canals > narrowboats!
As a railway enthousiast I approve! 😇
Well done lads, very interesting
