Just bought this as my first gun. I was allowed by a trainer to try out several brands and calibers of various hand guns. All of them intimidated me even before they were loaded. While in a shop I was shown this gun and it just felt right. I took it the range and was not disappointed.
Just picked up the Shield 2.0 in 9mm, minus the laser and manual safety, came with the Tritium night sights and extra mag (3 total, 1 - 7 round, 2 - 8 round), love it, my new EDC, great review !

I shoot at least a couple of boxes a month or as needed. Always practice and enjoy it. Lazer sights are adjustable like most sights
Just picked this up as my first ever gun purchase! I was super set on this after shooting one at my class not a 2.0 but it was a shield 9 and I was in love
Picked up my S&W about 2 months ago. Love this gun. Mine is equipped with the red laser. Should have waited to find the green but, next time. Honesty, I haven't really tried to use the laser yet anyway. Taken it to the range a few times. Stock sights are perfect! Only con...the grips. They are like rough sandpaper. Great when shooting. Not so much when your trying to carry inside the waistband. Rubs against my skin something terrible. Otherwise, wouldn't change a thing.

Great review, thanks Neal! You might want to do a follow-up video to discuss the following: feel/comfort shooting the gun, recoil, accuracy, etc. Also holster options that are available and recommended carry positions. Any ammo considerations/recommendations both for target practice and for self defense. And I don't recall if you mentioned the lifetime warranty from Smith & Wesson.
Have a original shield, installed apex duty carry kit and it's amazing. If I was someone is looking at the new shield I'd recommend buying a original and installing apex kit and you don't have to deal with the awkwardness of the hinged trigger system smith uses. With the price of the original now, it would be cheaper. And the stippling I think would be uncomfortable IWB. Slide cuts in the front are useless.
I'm selling my G43 and getting one of these. It's like they listened to a Glock shooter's complaints and did everything they could to fix them for you.
Got mind last Saturday. I’m left handed so I tried to flip the mag release but to my dismay it’s not designed to be flipped. I did it in my 40c so I thought it would be the same with this 9mm and I didn’t even bother to look at it when I was buying it. The groove on each side are different. You might wanna check.
It's a great piece. Short barrel means you need to grip it a little tighter for better accuracy. Check out the AlienWare Cloak Tuck 3.5 IWB holster I wear and carry the pair daily in Florida and love it
I heard and audible first click on the reset of the 2.0 series. It didn't seem much fainter than the original trigger but never the less there still. I thought the noise is still there although it might not be as tactile in feel in the 2.0
If they could only put a Walther trigger in there. myself I’m used to paddle style triggers releases with my HK you cannot grab them low because you will activate the euro mag release was thinking of picking one of these up think I will do without the viridian and go with the Performance Center love the sites and slimness seems to put a little more bulk on the nose for carry as well would rather have a non-inter-gated so you can have an option JMO.
I'm going to get one of these in the next few days this is the exact model I want with safety switch and if I can find one with laser part of the package I will get it.
I have the original and I updated or added upgrades slowly. I ported it about 2 years ago but still felt that it didn't mitigate recoil like I wanted. I also stipled it. Recently I upgraded to a new steel spring recoil system. It makes the slide easier to rack but I have yet to test how much it mitigates recoil. I then purchased the Crimson Trace Laserguard Pro in green. I won't upgrade the sights because it's mostly a home defense gun, and I feel that the green laser compensates for less than satisfactory sights. But even if it was my EDC, the sights would be sufficient anyway. Since this is a gun designed more for close combat, sights would be unnecessary in a situation where acquiring sights will be the least of my concerns. An encounter will most likely happen so fast that sights won't be necessary. I may upgrade the trigger but I doubt it. I feel that the laser will also help with aim if I practice enough with it. But the added bonus to the upgrades to my gun is that my elderly parents will be able to use it more efficiently than the way it was before the upgrades. That is, if they ever do use it. I'm hoping that my mother will learn to use this gun but she's too scared of guns.

How to change the battery on the 9mm
just got one a few days ago in Califuckafornia so I have 7-8 more days to wait!
Cal legal with the integrated laser?
I. Singer indeed it is
Any advice on changing the batteries? I can't determine the size of the allen wrench to remove the battery cover.
Did you try using the allen wrench that came with the pistol? You use that to adjust the lazer and I believe it fits the battery cover screw. I believe it uses LR44 button cell batteries.
@@nurseactual I found another allen that fit. Embarrassingly enough, I didn't think to look in the case that it came with.
What was the price?
Where could I get accessories for this gun at ? Like extra clips extended clips different sites etc ?
Hyve Technologies makes extended magazine attachments to make the 8rd magazine to either 9rd or 10rd.
How much?
Would anyone use the trigger reset in self defense? I practice with my finger coming off of the trigger after each shot.
Is the mag release reversible for us left handers? As the gen 4 glocks are?
No, I tried that on mine.
Jason Mcdonald damn. I asked on another review and was told it was. I was going to get it next week. That’s a shame
How much

Great video 👍🏾
Can anyone recommend an IWB for the M&P Shield 2.0 with the integral Crimson Trace laser?
Phil Riner Same here man . Let me know if you find one!
@@anthonyhowardjr5695 I ordered a We The People IWB holster for $38. Fury Carry Solutions makes a very nice holster for around $90. Since it isn't an EDC gun, I opted for the less expensive choice.

I prefer crossbreed. Worked the best after trying many others of varying cost
Great firearm! Love!
will this gun load a snake shot from the magazine to the chamber? Or do you have to load a single at a time?
Being new to the gun world i bought this gun with a crimson laser attached but cant find a holster out there to be able to carry it everyday. I had to take off the laser becuse it wouldnt fit into my alien gear holster. Anyone out there know a site or company that can help or do I have to go with a handmade kydex holster thats form fitted..
You didn't buy this gun if you took the laser off.
It is no removable.
But, there are a lot of holsters out there. I recommend www.alienwareholsters.com . Either the shapeshift or cloak tuck 3.5
Is the battery easy to change for the laser? What size? 1/3N?
very easy. i believe crimson trace does free battery replacement for life
Is the laser also offered in green?
Yes they do. The green laser version is a bit more expensive but in my opinion I think it's definitely worth it can go with the green.
Look at this demo, ua-cam.com/video/FeDGnUzGvm4/v-deo.html
@@HeartofTexasArmory why is the green laser more expensive?
@@allankrasnicki3116 the green laser emitters are more expensive to produce
@@HeartofTexasArmory which would be better to buy in your opinion? Or is it just color preverence?
Good review , Neal
ANYONE!! Please tell me where to find a good IWB holster for this thing! I can’t find much of any.
Onyour6designs.com in San Antonio TX will soon have the IWB kydex holster, because I am having them make a custom holster for me as soon as my gun arrives at the dealer. I told Jim (the owner) that I would bring my gun to him for measurements and making a holster for me.
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NCWROMI/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is the one I got and think its great. You have to make sure its for a laser....
Can this gun hold a 15 round mag?
No, this particular one takes a single stack magazine. They usually come with an 8 round magazine and a 7 round magazine. Companies like hyve and taran tactical have base plate extenders that allow you to convert your 8 round magazine into a 10 round magazine.
nice demo!!
Is this gun legal in California?
SKYHAWK 56 just bought mine in San Diego, with 7&8 shot mags so perfectly legal 👍
