Yeah that pretty much sums it up. This past winter we had a wicked storm and I was out plowing the roads for a few days and when I got done I started a fire, cracked a beer, ate some fungi and watched all 3 seasons over the next two days. It was glorious😁
God I love Dave, Ray knew when he was kidnapped that it wasn't anything personal, just a job that needed doing. Ray woulda done the exact same thing if the roles were reversed. But letting Dave live earned him a friend for life

That's actually not true. It is possible in Australia for the police to stop pursuing a case because the claimant decides not to go forward. This is relevant in two situations. 1) the case is inconsequential and the cops can't be bothered with it. 2) The main evidence the police had was the testimony of the claimant, who is now no longer standing by that testimony i.e. they won't testify in court. It makes the cops look bad to spend a bunch of money taking a dud case to court just to lose it due to a lack of evidence. I know that's not relevance to this case but your statement dealt in absolutes and that's what I'm objecting to.
So cases based entirely on witness testimony can be tried without evidence now? It sounds like you haven't thought this through very well. Cops can't do anything if they say they want the charges dropped and refuse to testify.

That is not entirely true. Whilst police may choose to go ahead even if the victim withdraws their statement , sometimes if legal representation makes contact with police there is a possibility the case can be dropped. Very grey area really given how corrupt the entire legal system is.
Good friends will eventually betray you on a long enough timeline. Hard to be a loyal friend when you are put under pressure to sell them down the river. Your friends are not your friends forever.
Maybe you've had bad luck so far. I'm 50 and have a few mates that have been with me for 30 or 40 more years. Maybe been let down on a few ocassions, but not betrayed.

In Victoria, Australia, a car turning from a main road has to give way to pedestrians crossing the street the car is turning into. If Ray had been right, I would have sympathised with him more.
