I already payed their ass too. So fucking annoying. My guess is they didn't have them in stock or they over sold them and are now stalling till they get more in stock. Supposedly mine will be here by the 14th according to Amazon but it still says preparing for shipment. Does this have more control over voicing than the prophet 8. For instance if you've used an elektron synth you can control voice distribution in sixteen different ways.
Ive not used a P8 (Ive an ob6 and jupiter 80) so cant comment, but the 16 voice is choice for what I plan to do with it. yeah i think your vendor is waiting stock--i mean these things are a bit tough to get and its been out for a couple months already. im not sure where you are in the world but guitar center gets one or two in randomly. theres a place in san fran that gets them in too. but! if you do get it shipped let the class know! cheers!
Apparently Dave Smith named the prophet 5 synth something much blander but he was told by a member of the prog rock group Yes to name it something flashy and catchy or else it wouldn’t sell as much as it deserved.
Andromedas are unfortunately one of thse synths that will break your heart, there's some components inside that can fail and cause irrepairable damage to the board. It also has some custom stuff inside that's no longer available and prone to failure too. :(
Lol you don't have to lie to sell this synth. "Complete analog signal path. Yea it's converted to digital for the effects and then back to analog, but that happens at the end" :p
Yes, true. I was excited when the 08 was announced. Called up the company the next day and Dave himself answered the phone. I asked him about the 'slop/drift' function and told him I had a Rev2. I laughed as he told me to sell the Rev 2 because it was thirty year old technology and that i should buy an 08. Got a used 08 sometime later and had it set up next to my Rev2....the difference wasn't subtle. As for the other comments here....lighten up Lulu's; substitute 'too static to my ears'. ;)
Love that he's explains what MIDI and envelopes are to people that are at a synth demo at a synth store.

This dude is out to lunch. And there is no such thing as a “Prophet-1”.
Andromeda was not seen as a great sounding synth when it came out… check the original reviews. Prophet 1 is probably the Pro One.
Not better sounding than an original Rev 2. Had a P8 and sold it...boring as hell.
