- Today we take a looks The Indian and Chinese Cemetery in Ayette
I couldn't find out much about Henrich Vodisch other than that he was born in Schwarzenbach/Opf on 27th August 1886. Killed on 3rd April 1919, based on the date I would imagine it was likely due to illness.

It is amazing to read about the numbers of Chinese, Indian, and other laborers that worked building trenches and constructing camps, building roads, etc. An important and greatly unappreciated contribution.
As Always Rob.. 👍👍
I've visited this cemetery when we were going for a day trip to the Somme in 2022. Didn't know about it until we saw the road sign. Glad we stopped and paid a visit, it's a side of the war you don't hear much about.
Yes very interesting
Yes visited this one six years ago, another beautifully kept cemetery. First thing I noticed when pulling up was 'no gates'. It truly was a world war. Many nations helped Britain and it is something we should never forget.
This one I missed during 4 visits on the Somme. Thank you for this vid.
Thanks for watching, great to meet you last week 🍻
