- Today, myself Dan of "Creation Myths" and Dapper of "The Dapper Dinosaur" dissect the "documentary" created by a bunch of Young Earth Creationists. It will shock and disturb you know know that it is in fact wrong on essentially everything it espouses.
SHOCK! AWE!
In this episode we tackled the first of five claims: That Humans and Chimps are actually not 98.8%... or even 96% similar.

3:15 "Don't look too closely behind the curtain because you may see something you may regret."
I do not regret looking at the curtain and seeing a woman's shapely lower half. Pareidolia is a helluva drug.
me too
Finally! I'm not the only one staring at the curtain and seeing a pair of thicc thighs.
I instantly saw the shapely lower half…I never knew that it had a name. Very interesting!
Yup! I was about to comment that I can't keep my eyes off that sexy, sexy curtain, but decided to see if it had ben mentioned before.
Such godless imagery is to be expected from athiests who do not believe in God because they want to sin. This is not pareidola it's Satan himself at work to lead people into temptation - Amen. Anyway that's a lot easier to understand than genetics especially when it totally discredits YEC nonsense.
The fact that you made the entire intro animation is amazing. I genuinely respect your talents both intellectual and artistic. Keep being awesome 👍
It’s great.
I must agree, so love it!
Takes time, but not really that impressive.
You could do it if you took the time.

My pareidolia kicked in on that too.
Yup. Came looking for this comment. Same.

You noticed that too, huh?

The animation on this is incredibly detailed for the standards of a video like this - like Erika's eyes focus on whichever other person is talking, actively talking person is animated, etc. If this was done by hand that's a crazy impressive level of dedication to this. I'm guessing it was, since I'm not aware of consumer software that'll do that, so.. got dang that's some good work
Three of my favourite science-based UA-camrs in one video. All we need are Viced Rhino, AronRa and Professor Stick!
ProfessorDaveExplains is amazing as well.
Forrest valkai as well
And Shannon Q
And throw in Sir SIC for comedy value
I think AronRa would make a good host, representing an everyman, asking the question of accredited experts and facilitating the conversation. I don't recall seeing Forest in this format before, but would bring a practical aspect to the event.
"Heat problem wrong" has to become a thing.

Can't. It's what our ape brains are wired to do. Duh. ;)
Two lines of pubic hair as well. 😂
I am not at all trained in genetic analysis. And I freely confess this. so this was a great opportunity for me to learn something.
In that context, this discussion was extraordinarily informative. Thank you so much.
I really enjoy the interaction between you three! And this deconstruction is pretty entertaining!

And your, “and right versus left handed is something that would be resolved one way or another?” You imagination or opinion is at odds with existing research. As far a origin of life goes, it wouldn’t be a virus, viruses are parasites, they need a cell to hijack the replication machinery. The sugars in DNA & the RNA’s are right handed, and not the same. Ribose/Deoxyribose. If there was a self-replicating RNA, what then? Did they make the ribose, nucleic acids from the chemical elements. And what the scientists created, isn’t what they contributed not evidence of a Creator?
Nice discussion Erica. It's good of you and your colleagues to address "Dismantled" because it's featured increasingly by creationists of all stripes. BTW maybe you've been told this before and if so ignore me but on your opening cartoon dryopithecus is misspelled "Drypothecus". I only noticed it because I paused the opening to look at reconstructions of each species/genera and the dryopithecus/sivapithecus frames flash by rather quickly.

I'm afraid I have to agree. I didn't want to complain on older videos, but the difference in volume between different videos on the Exctinctions playlist almost deafened me.
I had to triple my usual volume for one video and then the next one started playing automatically and I ripped off my headphones.
I still watched them, because the content is magnificent.
Some basic advice for recording audio of conversations in different locations: Get everyone to record their own voice right at the source and put those primary recordings together to make a full conversation of entirely source audio.

I think a fun thing Jenson is “missing” in his little tirade against differences in the unalienable region between Humans and chimps, is that you also find differences in the unalienable regions between chimps and other apes as well.

Basically this comes down to: Creationists don't understand things.

The curtains be thicc and I'm sorry, I stared.
As usual, creationists have to be dishonest to defend their nonsense
We know that humans and apes are closely related since Linnaeus, which is several decades before the Origin of Species. The genetics are just the last nail in the coffin, a creationnist found out that they were our closest cousins just by anatomy and dared any scientist to prove him wrong. Three hundred years later, we corrected a lot of linnean classification, but the only thing we corrected in the apes group, is that we're closer to chimps, rather than to gorillas as he thought ^^'

I'm not sure if it counts as a documentary. "(of a movie, a television or radio program, or photography) using pictures or interviews with people involved in real events to provide a FACTUAL record or report." Or "A movie or a television or radio program that provides a FACTUAL record or report."
I love the idea of taking a pseudoscience like creation science and forcing it through the scientific process. Like the first guy said. That's something I've been talking about. So like "Soft tissue from the T rex fossil proves it's young." Okay great. There's your prediction. What data do you have to support it? Where's your lab notes? Where did you do this research? It's a great way to distinguish science from pseudoscience. Obviously I'm not as educated as he is but it should work for most people and most pseudosciences.
From what I know, it was not soft tissue but red blood cells.
@@justaway6901 I'm pretty sure it wasn't even that,it was collagen.
@@justaway6901 A common misconception. It wasn't blood cells or blood. I've even heard it called meat on the bone. What it was was the remnant of what was at one time collagen. A small sample of the fossil was cut of and dissolved in acid then examined under a microscope and they found the remnant of collagen. No DNA was intact of course. Just dried up and preserved collagen. Which is the most common protein in a body. Bullshit” is a far better word than “rationalization”, but they mean the same. “Rationalization” is a clinical word - a word to be used by the professor; “bullshit” is more alive. “Rationalization” is bloodless; “bullshit” is very young, alive and kicking. But the meaning is the same; they are not different things.
The culture society was organizing a group to be comprised strictly of virgins, when a young lady carrying a baby appeared.
“But, madam” protested the president “that is evidence that you are not eligible for this society. Why do you think you will be able to join?”
“I was only foolin´ around when this happened,” she explained.
“Rationalization” is a philosophical term. “Bullshit” comes from the ordinary man, from the masses, people who live on the earth, with the earth, whose hands are muddy. The word “bullshit” is also muddy as it is being used by people who are working and living the ordinary life. It does not come from the ivory towers of a university. And it is more authentic, it says much more than “rationalization.” Words that are coined by professors are always anemic. They are dead words - clinical, but do not say much; rather than saying, they hide. Let me say it in this way, the very word “rationalization” is a rationalization: it is being used to avoid the word “bullshit.”

Lies is an even better word than bullshit because they have been told, with supporting evidence, that they are wrong yet they continue to spout their nonsense even knowing it is wrong.

Could our primate friends be surrogate mothers? Thanks to the creationists for giving us so much to laugh at and material for your channel.
It might be an idea to start with an intro that the entire world have been studying and writing papers which have been peer reviewed for hundreds of years. We teach Evolution in all institutions because it has been validated. In courts we use experts in the field and never Creationists. And if we did we would have to ignore Science, Astronomy, Geology etc. technology would be a hundred years behind.
