Thanks for such a great video. At age 77 like many older golfers, our distance and control seem to diminish. I work on trying to use my body (which with bad knees and less ability to turn) to pull the club through which doesn’t work consistently any more rather than as you demonstrate get the hands ahead. That will certainly help with squarer and better contact, distance as well as more fairways and greens. Your simple approach is a godsend to helping us older guys and gals play better 😃
Glad your busy doing family holiday fun and taking a break for peace n prosperity in the New year! Take that time and look forward committing to your approach. Happy holidays to you n your family!!
@AndrewEmeryGolf ty...2025 goal is stay committed to the drills n understanding what's happening n why. The anchor drill is great feeling and that tie in about heel height at punch, hitchhiker and then full 5th parallel so helped the feel. Your a good teacher who knows how to teach n talk to ppl...I love the lightbulb moments I am getting from your style! Glad I found ya!
"...arms moving down and then moving forward" Moe Norman would agree with this as he often preached "vertical drop and horizontal tug" His feel of what his hands did through the ball was somewhat different ... very much a feel is not real thing when you look at videos of his younger days swing. Thanks for your posts Andrew! Merry Christmas!!
This might be the best how to release video showing how the grip changes direction at impact. If im using an impact bag should i keep the bag where the ball would be or move it ahead where you call the structural release position. Thanks for the video
Will watch a couple more times -- taking grandson to the range -- let him learn mostly on his own after we go over simple fundamentals (let him have fun!)-- I will work this on my own -- he still watches and sometimes tries to copies.
Andrew, thank you! This is great information! I need clarification on one thing. You said, “let the body respond dynamically to the swinging of the arms.” Are you saying that the arms lead the hips in the swing? I’m not clear on what role the hips play since we have been taught that the swing starts from the ground up and the hips provide the power. Thanks!
The role of the pelvis is to remain underneath you and to create room for the arms! Firing them in order to move the arms is what keeps me in business! Simply allow your body to respond dynamically - it’s a FEEL v Real of course, but for a lot of golfers it’s transformative! Best, Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
Hi Andrew, I spent 10 years watching different UA-cam golf coachs, some of whom had +1m followers. I think watching so many different ways of explaining golf can be detrimental to your game because once on the course your head is just full of contradictory concepts about how to swing your club. And frankly I don’t understand why it is so confusing! I’ve been playing for quite some time now and I’ve developed a sense of what it is good for me and what is not. And when I came across your videos, everything started to get very simple and fluid and evident because you just confirmed what I was thinking about the golf swing but I was not that a good golfer to believe my own sensations. Now I only watch your videos and I hope all the players that are eager to improve their game will find their coach and stick to him/her and stop binge watching golf videos. Now I have a request, I am looking forward to watching your videos about your concepts applied to wedging and short game around the green and to be inspired by your teaching in all the phases of the game. Can you do that ?
Thanks for taking the time to share your journey! I’m sure I’ll be doing g a short game series in the New Year! A lot of varying opinions in that department too! Welcome aboard! Best, Coach A. 🙏🏻
I’m waiting for the merch with your motto … “You know who you are”
I have a few ideas for the New Year!!!

thank you for hitting off the grass and not using a tee to demonstrate. We all need to learn to hit the ball properly off the grass....
You’re welcome! ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
