Apart from map design changes , two more issues needs to be addressed. One is replacement of specialist with normal generic soliders with one extra slot for specialist gadget .Other is adding more content to give more variety.

That's what it needs. A solid year of non stop reworking. Clone BF4. Use all the same weapons. Modernize them. Rework all the popular maps and make them next gen. Same for over all graphics. QA aggressively tell its overwhelmingly positive. Than release content in a timely manner for a solid 4 years. Is that gonna happen? No. Lol.
@@fubarexress6359 wish this would happen. What this game has lead me to do is to learn game development in my spare time so i can hope to one day release a game with the chaos of battlefield and give it a unique flavour.
I love you Westie, and not here to be negative but I’ve been a diehard battlefield fan since BCB2….but it’s insane how far this game has fallen off my radar, and the radar of our community, the 501st. We built a literal whole community of hundreds of players and it has now completely fallen apart because 2042 flopped so hard.
@@sterlingw3611 Lol. I recommend against abolishing the military while Putin is waging a war and China is looking for an opening to attack. Just saying, the timing might be a bit off ;)
As a dormant 2042 plan, it would help if you showed examples of gameplay to support the shortcomings you mentioned in this video vs. showing the trailer in the background. Would provide some really valuable context to a player like me who played it for a week and then put it down. Big fan Westie.
I mean honestly boot up the game and play for an hour if you can even find a server with suck low player rates, you'll notice map design is terrible and it sucks fighting for an objective and literally getting killed from another objective 300m away
Agreed. Especially since he’s used the trailer a few times as background during other videos so we’ve seen it a million times. I’m not very keen on finishing this video not because I’m not interested in what Cameron has to say (I very much am) but because I can’t stand the trailer anymore lol
It feels more comfortable to just play other games and ignore the next BF instalments, until the next BF's are shown to be worth spending our own hard-earned on. Other Dev's released games during covid, and whilst lower on quality that we're used to, they were still good. What went so badly wrong with BF? *cough* microtransactions focus *cough*
Lead creative developer was from candy crush and quit right after launch. The ppl who made the game were working off a scam business model, the game didn't "fail" because it was never meant to succeed in the first place.
You're way off, microtransactions were NOT the problem here. They haven't even released an in-game store, so microtransactions aren't in the game... The problem is DICE having lost many of their core developers, leading to new ideas that depart from the tried and true Battlefield formula. This new desire to appropriate too many elements from other popular titles, coupled with a terrible management team that lacked direction and was completely deaf to the desires of their community, is what led to the ruination of BF2042.
They really haven't even implemented any microtransactions though. Hell, at least that would be content, and I couldn't care less about microtransactions if there's a steady flow of free main content, but there's not even that. Going for 128 without putting effort into map design, and the worst and most unlikable characters ever put into a game are the reasons it's failed so badly. I could excuse bugs and such if the core content were great, but it's not.
@@Kaiserland111 I know there are no micro transaction, but you sugar coat their design choices "elements of popular titles" is just a nice way of saying "copying other games" which was a terrible idea cuz it's exactly what fans didn't want, we want battlefield, not cod, not fortnight, not any other bullshit, we want battlefield, and the fact is they did everything EXCEPT battlefield. Totally inexcusable, they did that cuz they only knew how to copy other ideas that made money, all they cared about was the money, where as if they just did battlefield and only cared about a battlefield game, we would actually have one. Shane on them.
Easy. Step 1. Have all your experienced staff leave. Step 2. Let most decisions be made by stuffy higher-ups who've never played any videogame. appeal. Step 3. Mindlessly chase industry trends instead of focussing on the franchise's identity and core. Step 4. ???? Step 5. Profit.
Good grief, I thought this was supposed to be an updated BF3/4, just look at those maps, it isn't that difficult, especially as they appear to be moving to 64 players. Making a meal of it just like making a scoreboard! The issues are far wider than that and hard baked into this game. The whole project reeks of arrogance and greed.
Remember the good times from previous Battlefield's, we are not going to get those moments back again. The dev's who made them are mostly gone, and with them the vision what was Battlefield.
I like the changed they talked about in the blog post but they missed a huge point of frustration the community has about the maps… the atmosphere of all the maps. They’re too clean compared to the marketing, it doesn’t feel like there is a war going on.
it will take them years to make this game as good as some of it's prequels.... it will be better to keep this "love letter" to themselves as an example of what NOT to do and start working on a game we bf community truly deserve ...
i think you all forgot all the short comings of previous title that you had to get over in order to enjoy them . every battle field was a dumpster fire TBH except BF1 and its a trade off . i play 2042 and when i go back to old titles i get frustrated with mobility issues and OP air force
@@omnilightstudios7958 the problem is that the core of the game is literally not a battlefield game. This game is Call of Duty with 128 players. The core fundamentals just don’t line up with the formula, unlike previous titles where yes the launch sucked, but it was still battlefield, this game is not a battlefield game
I think that 2042 just confirmed what we had noticed in DICEs last few games; DICE are just completely out of touch and dont seem to care what their playerbase wants before the release of their games. They always seem to think advertising and promotion will sell their games regardless of what crap they pile into them. Battlefront 2 with the insistance on harmful loot boxes, BF5 with their determination to change the TTK that no one asked for TWICE, and now 2042 with such a carefree attitude towards how badly they handled performance, balance and map design and how they generally launched the game. DICE need to realize that theres only so many times the community will accept their "apology" and then wait for them to overhaul their games into what they should have been at launch. Their ignorance is actively killing the Battlefield name and tbh DICE games in general.
They lost me as a fan. I was really happy with what was coming and they killed that for me. I pre-ordered the game then canceled. I was playing the 10 hours on EA Play and stopped and deleted the game with 4 hours remaining because it just wasn't fun for me. I don't know what they can do to bring me back. If COD 2022 is just like COD 2019, that will be what I'll be playing and not thinking about 2042 ever again.
Adding more flags will not help at all .Take conquest alone , You are thinking that adding more objectives will split the players to play the objective more often . But in reality , most of the players tends to fight along the frontiers . At a given time there may be 2 to 3 frontiers present . Not more than that . So even increasing flags , won't affect the number of frontiers. So the best way was to add more covers between objectives and reduce the distance between them . What dice doing now , was in indeed correct .
If there's a way to move flags on Portal mode you can make a Lobby called Walking simulator pretty sure that people out there that would play it just for the meme
Its really concerning when they are focused on the map that doesn't need that much work done to it for the reasons they stated and the conquest change they proposed where both spawns are right by each other is concerning
I said right at launch, the maps were too big and too sparse. It is fine to have these large play areas, but when 70% of the map is just throw-away space, it does nothing for the player experience. Moving around the maps is torture, especially if you aren't able to get in a vehicle or call one in. I also think the size of maps forced Dice to cut down on overall detail & destruction. Two staples of the franchise sorely missing in 2042. I hopped on BF1 last night and played some Operations on Verdun. The amount of detail, devastation and atmosphere in that game is insane. Where did that go? Even 5 had incredible detail and destruction. These new maps feel soulless. They don't feel war torn, nor is there any sense of an impending battle. Just bland, characterless squares. This is a major issue. As far as cover and lanes, again, that is because of the size. You spend more time dodging snipers sitting on a ledge 1000 meters away, than actually engaging enemies up close. Everything feels flat and open. There needs to be a massive shift in the current maps and future map design. Couple all that with 128 players and the whole situation just feels off. But even then, the game is missing so much at its core. I would love to see a big turnaround that breathes life back into it, but at the rate we are going, we won't see these changes for another year. I mean it took several months just to get a scoreboard! Guess we will see what happens though. Not very optimistic, but I will be waiting to see if anything truly changes.
Moving the capture points closer will only create more dead space on the outer edges of the gigantic map. This will just lead to more snipers or tanks hanging out at the edge of the maps. Game is a lost cause.
Out of all the maps they choose to work on kaleidoscope first which probably has the most cover lol. Why not start with hourglass that map is horrendous.
With the proposed objective location changes the 2042 maps will at best be on par with Panzerstorm, the worst map in BFV. If they want me to come back, they will need to: - Each season release two 64 player small infantry focused maps akin to Amiens, Devastation or Metro. - Each season release two 64 player medium maps like Mt Grappa, Twisted Steel or Parcel Storm. - Each season release one WELL DESIGNED 128 player large map. - Silence the specialists, they would be tolerable if they shut up. - Add thermal optics. I've been waiting since BF4... - Drastically increase visual customisation options. - Remove most of the minimap spotting. Locating a silenced enemy should be rare and tactical. Long CD's.
I wonder if Battlebit which has large player counts (254) in a single server has the same issues as Battlefield 2042...or is it just DICE couldn't make a 128 player game work. Yeah I think it is the latter, simply not being able to make it work or making it fun. It was possible, just not by DICE.
@@Subsistence69 I don't really care if it is just "pixels" or the latest graphics, if Battlebit was on next gen consoles I would much rather choose a game that works and is fun over the disaster that is 2042.
@@SlayerEddyTV oh trust me I agree 100p and Im not a game dev or anything so I could be completely ignorant but a game thats just Minecraft pixels has to allow for better performance and more capabilities than a game with realistic environments and character models
I hope they decide to scale the maps down as well as OBJ locations, even with a tighter playing area the maps will still be their normal big self and have a fair chunk of deserted area that doesn't get used, so why not just chop that off therefore making the maps smaller? It's great to know that this is going to be their plan with future map releases but I hope it happens with base maps too.
I'm getting the sensation that due to following trends with other games (C.O.D, Overwatch, R6 Siege etc) DICE has ended up too little too late changed too much of the Battlefield formula to properly correct course. & one feels DICE will end up going the way of Westwood, Lucasarts, Origins, Viceral, Pandemic etc
I feel like this will likely go the route of Anthem 2.0. Big promises to fix it and then the plug will be pulled right when it is due. It sucks that this is happening to BF :(
Drag heels until they fulfill the year 1 pre-orders. (4 maps, 4 specialists, etc). Then they'll pull the plug. Make my words at this point; the game is already dead, they're just going theough the motions to deliever their end of the ordered content.
I play on PS4 and all these issues/problems are present, so the excuse that it’s due to the increased player count is false. EA/DICE have conned us out of our money by advertising a finished game, while releasing a broken and incomplete one.
Dear westie, I feel you. I love the frachise, I stood with it during BF4's horrible launch, Hardlines faliure, BF1 verry different approach and BFV of course. I love all these games in a way but 2042 just hurt so damn much. And the sadest thing is they had everything that had to be in the game already made! They nailed the athmosphere in 1 they rocked the gunplay in V and the weight and feel of battle in 4. They had all the resources to create a massive game with incredible mechanics and I can't wrap my head around how hard they f***** up. It's the first time that I don't play battlefield anymore since BF 2 got old for me (bad company was a console exclusive and im on PC) And with this incredible slow progression in fixing, the somehow even worse comunication and no direction I am quite sure this game will not become one of the better ones. We have to remember that BFV got killed early because the playerbase got smaller and now look at this game. I wouldn't be surprised if they simply stop service in the next 6 months and thats it.
Did Dice apologize for the state of the game and admit they were wrong? Or did they say "you (players) requested these features and we are responding to your feed back.) I don't feel that Dice took responsibility for the state of the game. (You want us to go out of our way to to give you features you want. OK. You will have to wait while we make it)
Westie, you mentioning "what's going to happen during Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, and Season 4?" (to paraphrase) just made me sad. Like, they've "committed" to releasing those seasons, and some people bought editions that include them, but I really, truly cannot see the game surviving long enough to even get to seasons 3 and 4, let alone even 2. Hell, at this point, if EA cancelled the game's support *today* I would not be shocked.
The fact that the maps are in such bad state is another example of how incompetent the DICE team is and how after the game is fixed there needs to be a major management shake up at DICE
Battlefield 1 was a true masterpiece of a game and everything has just gone downhill from there. I dunno what happened at DICE after BF1 but they need to get there shit together and take the time to make another passion project like BF1 was.
What happened was dice seen how much plp loved bf1 and the sentry drops and such they went all out on the hero I can turn the game by myself style....think about it the one hit kill sweet spot the behemoth and train spawns .....bf1 was a complete casual shooter ..so dice went all in on that also they took alot of things from warzone
Really wished they had just delayed the game a year. I actually have fun on certain maps on 64 breakthrough but the fact you have to cancel and re search for a game because i avoid some maps due to them being too open
Can't believe BF2042 fed us the BS of "this is a love letter to our fans" for sooo long just for it to turn out like dog sh*t. Literally years of love letter, ahead of schedule, etc. Unbelievable.
They should spend a year making the game fun and relaunch it when it's properly finished. They should also add close quarters maps like Metro and Locker.
I was so hyped prior to release but that momentum dropped like an anchor after seeing actual online play and people voicing their disgust… damn shame how the future of battlefield seems so grim after this disastrous release
As i have said in Levelcaps video on this the one thing that Dice could do right now if they are serious about fixing there game is to run a 24/7 CTE for the community to actively be testing everything they change until it fits how the community wants it to
Idk if they can even shut it down. Some people bought 4 seasons worth of content. If they shut down to relaunch the base game later this year, or even into next year, a lot of people are probably gonna be pissed that they'll then have to wait another full year after that to get all of the seasonal content they purchased.
Map changes, weapon balancing, specialist tweaks & vehicle spamming all needs to be reworked!! Gonna take them 2yrs to do all that‼️ Not looking like a GG at this point…smh 🎲
Few things here: 1. You mention "Feedback" a few times in your video, but we don't know where Dice is taking their feedback from. Do we need to make UA-cam videos? Do they watch the Reddit forum? Do we need to comment on twitter? Ever since their team stopped using their official forums back in BF3 and moved all their news to twitter, I've been uncertain how to actually interact with the company 2. The opening minutes of Conquest has always been a bit slow to set up the frontlines for the beginning of the game which is fine, we just need more pure transport vehicles (at least at spawn). 3. They already have a format for testing in Portal. They could make a Prototype map rotation for Kaleidascope and take feedback from that instead of waiting. 4. Everyone knew that 128 players was a mistake. When they did their 64 player Conq/Breakthrough option, I wanted to play the full Conquest maps with 64. Not half the map with half the players. 5. I still play this game 1 night a week with a friend. If they had all the bugs ironed out, it would at least be a playable game right now. But the no jump bug, aiming bugs, bullets straight whiffing through people bugs; all that makes an already mediocre experience that most people could enjoy unbearable. 6. No VOIP destroyed this game, especially for console players that can't quickly type to their squad. I've heard from console players at work that that single omission is why they didn't bother buying it. They actually get pretty heated that a game would release in 2021 on console without it.
What they're not saying which is obvious to any Software Engineer is the codebase is clearly one giant rushed mess most likely due to changing requirements from the product team. The tell tail signs are there but most notable is it taking 3 months to add a flat screen with a count of some numbers... Yes the scoreboard. What was obviously the quickest thing to implement, low hanging fruit as we call it, is taking this long. The good news on that is it sounds like they're doing a massive cleanup and refactor which would make fixing bugs and adding features a little easier. That is the only valid explanation for such a long delay. If they're taking so long because they're trying to jam this into the existing mess, we're out of luck.
Once dice supposedly already tested more players on the map in older BF and it didn't work out, they gave up on the idea... It's interesting that they forgot about it now...
Have to agree with Westie, I'm also a BF fan but can't see myself sticking around for them to fix (or try to fix) the game. Just the lack of people posting gameplays of BF 2042 says it all, where before, you had tuns of "Only in Battlefield Moments" videos posted on UA-cam each week. Sad.
I'm sorry, where did DICE actually explicitly say "We were wrong"? They may be making empty changes, but that isn't an admission. Nowhere in any press release or communication has DICE even gotten close to admitting they were at fault, or that they lied. Every single time they "apologize" is always backhanded, blaming the community's "brutal" expectations.
As a BF fan it hurts to say this, but I’m afraid that it’s far too late to bring people back to the game. I hope the next update fixes a bunch of problems but I have very little faith at this point. As a console player, I can tell you that not having a working aim-assist has thrown me away from the game. I might’ve played here and there if aim assist actually worked. The game is just frustrating to play and it’s such a basic game feature. How the fluff do you not have a working aim-assist in an fps.
Aim assist does work.... If you are expecting the disgusting amount of aim assist you get in Warzone you will keep hoping. Aim assist was never meant to be that overpowered and thankfully EA avoided alienating mouse and keyboard players the way COD did
I feel like moving the flags closer to each other might create a cluster fuck, and defeats the whole purpose of having those large maps. Adding more flags that are closer to each other could be a solution, but maybe the maps are just too big for 128 players, in which case moving the flags closer is the right move.
Going from one conquest point to the next feels like that knight running to the castle in MONTY PYTHON & THE HOLY GRAIL. It's endless...until its not. Then, when you die, you're back to the endless running again.
8:09 look how the bolt jumps over the ice and falls quickly back to the ground. In game if you do same jump it doesn’t fall to ground the same way at all.
I’ve said it before. Next year they need to relaunch the game. Title it: Battlefield 2043 or just Battlefield VI And all of the fixes can be released at once. The new game MUST be a free update to everyone who purchased 2042 And they need to release newly printed physical discs with new box art.
The respawn system should have you dropping in with a HALO jump. Like you can’t fly around like Sundance and you can easily be seen from the ground but you are in free fall and you open the chute very low to the ground. That should stop you from being killed on entry as you die so often in warzone. Each section of the map should have one or two areas to jump into.
That's a good idea. They'll need to go "NO Mans Sky" mode on this. They messed up in abominal ways. If they don't succesfully relaunch this game, I fear you're correct... this may be spelling the fall of BF, destined to go the Mass Effect route, being frozen for many years.
Why are there so many flags, it's just annoying to have F1 F2 F3... like Kaleidoscope should just be 5 flags... A: Radio Tower, B: Memorial, C: Space-Umbrellas, D: Datacenter, E: Skyscrapers... why the hell are we capturing and holding an almost non-existent skatepark as a military? The skyscraper flags should also go from top to bottom... like 30 guys holding the ground can capture it over 5 campers on the top and vice versa.
Let’s take the “line of sight” issue and use Renewal as an example. There are these big flat open farms/fields with no cover but the overhead sprinkler system. The solution would have been putting abandoned tractors and other farm equipment scattered throughout the field. Boom. Instant cover.
"... making the gameplay experience better for everyone that's playing it" well I'm sure all six persons still playing the game, will be happy about that.
I hope they fix the game. Still think they will drop this game soo fast and focus on their next game once it is fixed enough. Most likely by June 2023 game will be dropped and we will not have any major updates similar to BF5.
one of the biggest map issues that they dont seem to be talking about is literally just the design, its meant to be like ww3 US vs russia why tf is the world literally perfect, the maps need to be wartorn and destroyed, with craters, exploded vehicles, buildings on fire/crashed etc.
Westie is an Arsenal fan like me so he'll probably understand this analogy - BF is like Arsenal during the end of Wenger era and the entire Emery era. We were free-falling. Some ups (match wins and FA cups) but continued downward trajectory in every aspect of the club. The entire BF franchise seems to bear this trend. And seems as if EA/DICE needs an Arteta-like figure of leadership to really change everything, overhaul everything, top to bottom...I only play BF games, until now. Sad to see the franchise is taking such a dive but I remain blindly hopeful...
I don’t really mind a 128 player maps because they can just be fun as a 64 player map. Games like MAG (god I feel old) was able to do a pretty good job and that game had 256 player maps. I think the layouts and the position of the flags was the biggest issues. They’ re too spread out and when you have the 2 most contested flags, it’s almost like everywhere else is empty.
Shocking game how they have gone from BF4 to BF2042 is amazing in itself they need a whole new team for battlefield to even have a chance of a comeback.
I appreciate you covering this, and I'm not trying to take anything away from this video and your coverage of BF2042, but if you look at DICE/EA's "communication" of the past few months, the gas-lighting and the posts that sound like "we are looking into adding 'legacy' features YOU think should be in the game" - this is far from an admission of wrongdoing. Until they formally admit on record that they screwed up, it's their fault, and they are going to try and make things better, they are going to maintain the sentiment that "we are doing what the community wants and are adding features that they think are right for the game, not us".
MapReworks Classsystem Performancpush This 3 points should be goals for at least summer 2022... After this we can talk about better destruction, content, battlepass...more maps and weapons
Make the maps smaller so infantry isn’t fucked over by snipers halfway across the map because they can’t find vehicles. Make the map smaller so people can actually traverse them without vehicles Add cover along large open areas in the maps so snipers can’t have a field day in every match Get rid of the specialists Add the basic class system back Add more weapon and attachment variety Completely get rid of weapon spray and random weapon patterns Optimize the performance better on PC… I have an RTX 3090 and can’t crack over 100 FPS consistently Get rid of the post match voice line stuff Add a scoreboard Add a full functional server browser on PC Add rush and team death match to the normal experience outside of portal The game needs more maps for all that warfare Do something to make hazard zone actually worth playing Add voice and proximity chat Return the match chat I cannot believe that features missing Make maps specific for Rush anti-death match so we aren’t just playing on smaller versions of the boring maps that are already in the game And this is just a small list of things that need to be fixed
Ok, i wasent sure about this before but now it seems pretty clear that DICE have evolvde into a studio of mainly new and Young blood developers given all of these basic things in regards to designing an FPS/BF game. Ad too this the fact that they had to start from scatch when the older frostbite engine needed an upgrade So we got ”new” stress’d developers working on a new upgraded engine…no wonder this game felt like a gaint ”free-for-all” in terms of mechanics, story, setting, maps and charecters
Honestly after bf4 it should just be a standard to launch battlefield games with a CTE. EA/DICE has lost pretty much all confidence from their core community, and I don’t see high hopes for the next game that EA tries to launch.
No Man Sky dev team was a legendary come back, I love that game now, every time they update the game with good content and free I almost cry because I laugh at them wen they first launched LOL
Now, dice saying that 128 players was kind of a bad idea seems kinda resonable, but look at planetside 2. They have hundreds of players fighting over a continent, and players can get in sunderers, which are basically moving spawn points. There's a big battle going on somewhere? Just drive a sunderer up to it and anyone on your side can spawn on it, which is how planetside has so many big big crazy battles because players can get to where they wanna be. Maybe if dice added a feature where temporary spawn point would appear near a large enough congregation of friendly and enemy soldiers, it could bring back some fun.
The only dependable thing you can rely on from Dice and BF2042 at this point is delays. See VOIP, Scoreboards, etc. Shame really, my favorite franchise has been absolutely murdered by Dice. RIP
the 2 developers who are still working on Battlefield 2042 have to do a lot of things at once. That's the way it has to be in Stockholm at DICE, otherwise I can't explain why everything is taking so long to implement. How did DICE manage to release one DLC after another like in BF3 for example and now it takes them months for a few changes.
So Dice is now going to think about how to make a game correctly> After we've paid good money they're now going to "figure it out". Here's a tip: figure this out before you launch your game.
How about make it a team play objective based battlefield game instead of a hero shooter with specialist and no class system. More cover and less flat open spaces. A skill ceiling for vehicles. A level of destruction like the older battlefields
If only map design was this games only problem. Honestly think it’s beyond saving. It is clear that this is not the same DICE that made previous games in the franchise.
They are so clueless. They are just going to shift some capture points around and add some random walls. They need to start again on the map design, and maybe start again in design class. It is battlefield it is not that hard. Make a main front line area using bridges and canyons and then make a couple of risky paths around the outside so a squad can slip around and cap an objective
5’s pacific maps were so detailed and atmospheric. I’d go swimming to watch the fish. 2042 has maps drawn by a child with a ruler, straight lines everywhere. Give me my money back Dice.
I really don't understand why it takes so long to add a few features/landscape changes to a map. Just do it and put it out. It'll be better than nothing.
Needs a complete relaunch, but even that i’m not sure would work. Need a new name and remake the whole game🤡

Faceplanted and broke its neck would be more accurate.
More like missed the landing pad
Give everyone refunds. Pull the game from stores and relaunch once it's in a better state.

NOT. HAPPENING. 😂
I love you Westie, and not here to be negative but I’ve been a diehard battlefield fan since BCB2….but it’s insane how far this game has fallen off my radar, and the radar of our community, the 501st. We built a literal whole community of hundreds of players and it has now completely fallen apart because 2042 flopped so hard.
this game made me want to abolish the military.... Its a shame cause every other BF game made me want to join the military.
@@sterlingw3611 Lol. I recommend against abolishing the military while Putin is waging a war and China is looking for an opening to attack. Just saying, the timing might be a bit off ;)
My clan started with BF4... we have been tight nit... GUESS WHAT WE ARE PLAYING NOW? COD Vanguard! lol...
@@EscanV yeah most of us are on warzone or like me grinding elden ring
As a dormant 2042 plan, it would help if you showed examples of gameplay to support the shortcomings you mentioned in this video vs. showing the trailer in the background. Would provide some really valuable context to a player like me who played it for a week and then put it down. Big fan Westie.
Honestly betting that westie either can't /doesn't want to actually play 2042 long enough to record enough gameplay for videos lol.
Great suggestion
I mean honestly boot up the game and play for an hour if you can even find a server with suck low player rates, you'll notice map design is terrible and it sucks fighting for an objective and literally getting killed from another objective 300m away
Agreed. Especially since he’s used the trailer a few times as background during other videos so we’ve seen it a million times. I’m not very keen on finishing this video not because I’m not interested in what Cameron has to say (I very much am) but because I can’t stand the trailer anymore lol
Another alternative could be having gameplay from other bfs.
Here's the solution:
1. Get Battlefield 2042
2. Throw it in the trash
3. Make a new game and call it: the Battlefield we're very sorry edition
Oh, and make the new game cost $20, not $70 to over $100.

Pretty sure super early versions of 2042 where for a battle royale and they quickly turned the game and specialist into what we have today.
I don't understand... How is it possible to make a game like Battlefield 1 in 2016 which was almost perfect and in 2021/22 a disaster like that ?
They doubled down on going woke from up top, chose not to listen to developers, and didnt have any community involvement
Easy.

Honestly there is no solution to this game i feel sad what battlefield has come up to😕
Don't be sad, this is just how it works our sometimes.
$ad
@@omnilightstudios7958 The community have already abandoned this game. That never happened with the previous BF titles.

Their ignorance is actively killing the Battlefield name and tbh DICE games in general.
well its not the same dice og's makeing the game its a new team that trying to pull shit out their ass
Lost me as a fan too. I played the game and hated it. And will likely never play it again. What a complete waste of a good franchise.
they should just add 4 more flags 2 on each side would solve the walking simulator
It doesnt solve the walking, it just gives more objectives, but still the big space. They are fine with just thighter the flags for me
Nah they need to scrap 128 players. Smaller maps, this isn’t a BR
CTE should be used like in BF4 where the community directly votes on the changes that should be made.
The hood old days where we had a community map.
Putting this little manpower behind the restructuring means its basically abandoned without making ot look like its abandoned.
Moving the capture points closer will only create more dead space on the outer edges of the gigantic map. This will just lead to more snipers or tanks hanging out at the edge of the maps. Game is a lost cause.
True
I think they intend to literally cut usable map space. Not just move the flags. Essentially admitting the maps are too big lol
Out of all the maps they choose to work on kaleidoscope first which probably has the most cover lol. Why not start with hourglass that map is horrendous.
i honestly think theres nothing they can do to save this game from the damage it has already caused
With the proposed objective location changes the 2042 maps will at best be on par with Panzerstorm, the worst map in BFV.
If they want me to come back, they will need to:
- Each season release two 64 player small infantry focused maps akin to Amiens, Devastation or Metro.
Long CD's.
It feels like 4 1/2 people are working on bf2042
1 for the map
1 for the bugs
1 for the scoreboard
1 for voip
1/2 (50% Contract) on bugs and content
I wonder if Battlebit which has large player counts (254) in a single server has the same issues as Battlefield 2042...or is it just DICE couldn't make a 128 player game work. Yeah I think it is the latter, simply not being able to make it work or making it fun. It was possible, just not by DICE.
I mean to be fair isn’t battlebit just pixels..
@@Subsistence69 I don't really care if it is just "pixels" or the latest graphics, if Battlebit was on next gen consoles I would much rather choose a game that works and is fun over the disaster that is 2042.

So basically after 4 months they’re saying “our game is fucked…let’s start again. We’ll be right back with another beta version in oh….5 months”
DICE. Just let 2042 die. EA. Refund everyone. Let’s move on.
I started with BF 1942 and have BF1, BF2, BF3, BF4, BFV, BFH, BF BC3 but have never seen EA/Dice mess up this bad and it does worry me... A LOT
I appreciate Battlefield 2042.. Battlefield 1 is my favorite and BF2042 did a lot to bring players back to BF1. Thanks, DICE and EA!
DICE promised an urban map (even in the trailer). It turns out that the "urban map" is 85% in the desert sand and the 15% "urban" feels pointless.
It’s over. Play BF1 and BF4 remember the good times and the all the feels.
Really wished they had just delayed the game a year. I actually have fun on certain maps on 64 breakthrough but the fact you have to cancel and re search for a game because i avoid some maps due to them being too open
The maps was designed for Battle Royal and not actual battlefield kind of gameplay, I think that's the main issue 🤔
They said the new maps will be infantry based
I was so hyped prior to release but that momentum dropped like an anchor after seeing actual online play and people voicing their disgust… damn shame how the future of battlefield seems so grim after this disastrous release
Nobody cares what may will be in 3 Months... they have to deliver NOW !
Honestly they are delaying things to probably stop supporting it based on player count by then. I truly hope I am wrong.
Sounds like cherry picked feedback, I'm sure there was a great mention about bringing the classes back and getting rid of the specialist.
After the mishandling of bf5 and now this whol fiasco. I'm not prepared to ever give this game a chance.
Going from one conquest point to the next feels like that knight running to the castle in MONTY PYTHON & THE HOLY GRAIL. It's endless...until its not. Then, when you die, you're back to the endless running again.
Sometimes I just cap a point then wait 😆
8:09 look how the bolt jumps over the ice and falls quickly back to the ground. In game if you do same jump it doesn’t fall to ground the same way at all.
I’ve said it before.
Next year they need to relaunch the game. Title it: Battlefield 2043 or just Battlefield VI
And all of the fixes can be released at once.
The new game MUST be a free update to everyone who purchased 2042
And they need to release newly printed physical discs with new box art.
Manifest is pretty fine for now. All other maps need tons of work. We also deserve way more maps, weapons, camos, etc. ASAP.
Also the buildings on hourglass by d and b are destruction based buildings...why not just copy and paste them on other maps easy fix
"... making the gameplay experience better for everyone that's playing it" well I'm sure all six persons still playing the game, will be happy about that.
I hope they fix the game. Still think they will drop this game soo fast and focus on their next game once it is fixed enough. Most likely by June 2023 game will be dropped and we will not have any major updates similar to BF5.
Make the maps smaller and more cover. Also dice needs to give mouse and keyboard support for console
one of the biggest map issues that they dont seem to be talking about is literally just the design, its meant to be like ww3 US vs russia why tf is the world literally perfect, the maps need to be wartorn and destroyed, with craters, exploded vehicles, buildings on fire/crashed etc.
The biggest problem are the hero characters and enemies that look exactly the same!!! Just push out some US vs RU skins and the game is fixed ALOT.
MapReworks

This 3 points should be goals for at least summer 2022...
After this we can talk about better destruction, content, battlepass...more maps and weapons
Right now, I can find action very quickly from dying by a jet before I even fully spawn in, that's how fast it is.
Make the maps smaller so infantry isn’t fucked over by snipers halfway across the map because they can’t find vehicles.
Make the map smaller so people can actually traverse them without vehicles
Add cover along large open areas in the maps so snipers can’t have a field day in every match
Get rid of the specialists
Add the basic class system back
Add more weapon and attachment variety
Completely get rid of weapon spray and random weapon patterns
Optimize the performance better on PC… I have an RTX 3090 and can’t crack over 100 FPS consistently
Get rid of the post match voice line stuff
Add a scoreboard
Add a full functional server browser on PC
Add rush and team death match to the normal experience outside of portal
The game needs more maps for all that warfare
Do something to make hazard zone actually worth playing
Add voice and proximity chat
Return the match chat I cannot believe that features missing
Make maps specific for Rush anti-death match so we aren’t just playing on smaller versions of the boring maps that are already in the game
And this is just a small list of things that need to be fixed
Maybe DICE should do what was done with Final Fantasy 14 and do a rebrand/relaunch of Battlefield 2042 later this year or even next year
Ok, i wasent sure about this before but now it seems pretty clear that DICE have evolvde into a studio of mainly new and Young blood developers given all of these basic things in regards to designing an FPS/BF game.
Ad too this the fact that they had to start from scatch when the older frostbite engine needed an upgrade
So we got ”new” stress’d developers working on a new upgraded engine…no wonder this game felt like a gaint ”free-for-all” in terms of mechanics, story, setting, maps and charecters
There’s a difference between “getting it wrong” and intentionally releasing an unfinished product 🙄
The MAV works like that in bf2042 it's a moving spawn point for entire team
When are @DICE and @EA going to address weapon balancing? It shouldn't take an entire AR magazine to down an enemy player.
Man the classic BF theme at the end felt like playing Taps for the franchise. Really don't know how they dig out of this one.
How did they mess up map design?
Is this dice different from the one that made bf3 bf4 bf1 and bf5?
