I want back the America of my childhood. Where you discuss opposing viewpoints and afterward shake hands and walk away friends. Amen my brother in Christ I miss those days where people brought God into there homes and taught there children to be scared and fear God's judgement and knew they where being watched to not do bad things,there the future of our generation. Congratulations on reaching 100K subscribers. I'm very happy to be one of them. As usual, I enjoyed your observations and commentary on this song. Both the music-art and visual-art of this was masterfully done, and as she often does Nova used a simple setting filled with symbolism to tell as much of the story as Tom's lyrics do. I wonder how many people caught the symbolism of the warehouse-setting that sets the conflict-arena as within the working class of our republic that are being manipulated by the elite of our society into hating each other.
"Me vs. You" is a companion song to "The System" and "The Machine" in explaining the system that the elite in our republic have created, and how it purposely divides us to incrementally lessen our power and make us sheep to be tyrannically ruled over. The three songs are the same story told by different perspectives, with each perspective examining the same problem from separate narratives and points of view. This level of story-telling in musical form takes a tremendous amount of literary talent combined with music-art. When you add on Nova's masterful visual story-telling side of it, it more than doubles the mental and emotional impact of the story-telling.

This song from Tom was meant to start a conversation and show everyone how incredibly selfish and greedy we all look when we constantly bring others down with our beliefs instead of finding a middle ground! as someone always wants to be right! We are all feeding the negativity by continually shouting at one another and finding no resolve. It's very saddening to see how this world has become. Tom is trying to unify everyone by pointing out the double standards! It's a wonderful song depicting how everyone talks to one another. I applaud Tom for making this one! Freedom of choice is an illusion to an extent, and most don't see it. A perfect, loving, peaceful world would collapse the system that profits from our hatred. Together we stand, and divided we fall. The people of the world have to see this and understand it. No matter what you believe or worship, we should embrace love. That will save the world and end the dark system. Tom's cover art was telling! You can see and feel the exhaustion and confusion in Tom's eyes sitting on that chair in the middle of everyone yelling from both sides!

I was living comfortably on my social security before this administration and now to pay utilities and groceries I have to put them on credit cards or pull money out of savings. I see what he is saying, but I don't think we are fighting over nothing. I have spend a lot of time trying to mentally see "why the hate" and why can't we "come together". Right now I have landed on that the universities have churned out a LOT of 'activists' over the past couple decades and they have purposefully, egregiously and aggressively chosen and crossed the "deal breaker" lines and are purposefully causing this inability to talk to each other. Right now I believe this is a result of a "full court press" of the Marxist movement in the US right now, which is why I don't think we are "fighting over nothing". I saw the other day the leaders at the World Economic Forum praising China as the model for the rest of the world going forward and had Xi Ping (whatever his name is) give a speech to all the world leaders and billionaires in attendance. Unfortunately, I do think it is important who wins this election, but not just the Presidency. I think so much agitation will happen if a certain person wins that tension is going to flare further. And that's what they want. I mean, what do you truly think they mean by "tear it down"?
I am neither Republican or Democrat. I have seen this issue for a while. I really think that not this vote ellection but the next one that we the people find our own respresentative would be a lot better than the career politicians. Only that would work.

Tom is singing about 10% or less of the population of the U.S., most of us are just normal people trying to live our lives. You would think listening to him and other people making money off social and political differences that there are running battles in the street non stop. Like every place in the world, we have problems, profound social issues no question about it. There is a very small % of people who are "screaming" at the other side, they do get a lot of press though, its great for clicks. I assure you the vast majority of americans (hundreds of millions) are all very close to the center, willing to compromise and just want a government that makes good decisions for the american people. Visit some time, you'll be surprised at how normal things are, most of the time.

In this particular song, Tom does a good job of identifying how the politicians and the media work to fan the flames of a divided people. However, there are many things in Tom's other songs that I object to so will never be a fan. Some of you commentors show a definite MAGA affiliation.
